Opis:: This article presents the correlation analysis between the level of liberalisation of the economic system, income inequality, and macroeconomic stability. The main result presented in this article is that the level of liberalisation of the economic system is stron¬gly related with the level of inequality. The level of income inequality is on the other hand strongly related to the macroeconomic stability. Countries of high level of econo¬mic liberalisation have large inequalities and lower macroeconomic stability than coun¬tries with lower level of economic liberalisation.

Opis:: The study takes up the issues of research and development activities in the econo-my. In the paper the following assertion has been verified: despite the increase in expen-ditures on R&D in Poland comparing to increasing investments in the developed econo-mies, it is not sufficient to compensate the existing gap in innovation between Poland and these countries. The study drew attention to the size and structure of expenditures on research and development in the developed countries and Poland. In the paper there was also an assessment of R&D activities undertaken by the public sector in Poland presen¬ted, as well as the state and the general causes of low or insufficient research and deve¬lopment activities in the Polish economy.

Opis:: The evolution of G20 represents a landmark development in global governance. The moves in 2008-2009 prompted by the global financial crisis, to convene the G20 at the level of heads of state constituted the first major adaptation of global arrangements to better fit with the fact of the emerging powers. The coming years will show whether the G20 has actually managed to carry out the necessary reforms. The risk of another, more fraught with consequences, crisis mobilises the G20 states' leaders. There is also a strong likelihood that the positive assessment of the Group of Twenty effectiveness in the field of the world economy will facilitate the expansion of its activity on several other vital issue areas.
