    The interwar period was characterized by an experimental movement in the field of educational methods. This movement was the result of postulates announced as part of the new education trend, stimulating an alternative and innovative approach to the didactic and educational work of the school. The publication presents the organization of teaching in experimental classes in elementary schools No. 22 and No. 7 in Vilnius in the years 1918-1939. School inspectors’ reports collected in Lithuanian Central State Archives in Vilnius were mainly used for this purpose.

    Opis:
    Interest in New Education Pedagogy is currently is experiencing its renaissance. The solutions suggested by alternative education, which emphasise the development of students’ individual skills and also addressing their needs and interests seem to be better suited to present times. The pedagogy of New Education, which places children in the centre of the educational and formation process, undoubtedly has much to offer. When reflecting on contemporary methods of making use of the achievements of New Education, it is worth going back to its origins, even to those little known or even forgotten and almost absent in current academic discourse as exemplified by the pedagogical reflection of the outstanding Russian intellectual and novelist, Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910). This article is dedicated to recalling the basic educational and formational intuitions of this exceptional figure. This seems to be intentional for at lease three reasons. First, as Sergiusz Hessen stated, it was Tolstoy who laid the groundwork for the New Educational pedagogy in Russia, which was referred to there as Free Education. Secondly, Leo Tolstoy’s pedagogical views and initiatives in the spirit of New Education, if establishing a school in Yasnaya Polyana can be acknowledged as such, appeared almost half a century earlier than John Dewey’s My Pedagogic Creed Ellen Key’s The Century of the Child. Finally, and equallyas important, the 190’s anniversary of Leo Tolstoy’s birth will be celebrated next year.

    An outstanding sociologist and philosopher of culture did not consider himself a pedagogue and was not perceived as one. An analysis of his books written during periods of great global crises: The Fall of Western Civilization (1921) and The Social Role of a University Student (1940), indicates that the fundamental transformation of education, especially university education, is a necessary condition for the formation of a new “aristocracy of the spirit”, new creative elites, capable of leading the masses (people) to the revival and development of Western civilization. American universities are particularly well-suited to this function. Both the content and the language of these books confirms that Florian Znaniecki was a radical humanistic pedagogue.

    The paper aims to present the possibilities WebQuest gives in the educational context for recognising and catering to individual learners’ needs. The focus of the article is on altering the learning conditions contributing to the deepening diversity of learners’ needs. The use of the example of WebQuest as a teaching tool in LSP (Language for SpecificPurposes) class for monitoring needs, together with a highly personalised teaching process, is analysed. The presented application of WebQuest fillsin the gap in the individualisation of the teaching process.

    The aim of the publication is to present new models of education appropriate to the twenty-first century and the needs of modern network society. The article presents a comprehensive substantiation for necessity changes in education, resulting from technological development, as well socio-cultural changes.     The article presents the findings of a study that aimed to explore the opinion of speech therapists regarding remote speech therapy. The study was conducted between January and March of 2023 and the data was collected through a quantitative method via a diagnostic survey. The sample comprised 62 speech therapists with varying levels of work experience and geographical locations. The outcomes indicated that speech therapists generally held a negative opinion of remote speech therapy, perceiving it as more problematic and limiting than beneficial. Most respondents had not participated in online training or courses aimed at improving their qualifications in remote speech therapy, which could potentially influence their attitudes towards it. The study suggests the need to develop and share practical tips on remote speech therapy to better prepare specialists for a possible transition to remote modes of service delivery.
