Opis:
Hoary ragwort Senecio erucifolius L. (Asteraceae) is a perennial herb with Eurasiatic distribution. The species occurs rarely in most of Poland, with centre of distribution in its SE part. The paper presents the distribution and conditions of occurrence of Senecio erucifolius in the Western Pomerania (NW Poland) with reference to intraspecific taxa. Eight localities of the species were listed and described: three presently existing localities (four populations), two localities not confirmed at present and three incorrect localities. All presently existing populations of Senecio erucifolius represent subsp. erucifolius. The populations are rather small and they are the components of three plant communities: community with Calamagrostis epigejos, association Arrhenathereteum elatioris and association Tanaceto-Artemisietum. Hoary ragwort should be recognised as an endangered species of the Western Pomerania.

Seeds of Pyrus calleryana were sampled from 11 stations located in Poznań green areas. Three of them represented cultivar ‘Capital’, whereas the remaining eight represented cultivar ‘Chanticleer’. The viability of seeds was qualified by means of tetrazolium test. The results of staining test showed that viability of Callery pear seeds was high and ranged from 90 to 100%.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of inventory of the mope-headed cherry (Prunus ×eminens ‘Umbraculifera’) trees occurring in green areas of Poznań city, which was carried out in 2016. Totally, 227 trees, planted in the years 2011–2014 in nine stations, most often along street, were inventoried. The circumference of tree trunks amounted from 8 to 33 cm (mean 23.2 cm), the tree height amounted from 2.2 to 4.2 m (mean 3.4 m), and the crown diameter ranged from 0.46 to 4.0 m (mean 21.9 m).

Opis:
Twenty three populations of hoary ragwort Senecio erucifolius L. were studied to evaluate the ecological indicator values for this species in Poland; four population represented subsp. erucifolius and 19 subsp. tenuifolius. The indicator values show some diversity between two subspecies but it is the index of continentalism which differs the most these two taxa. Senecio erucifolius subsp. erucifolius is an Atlantic taxon, which occurs in the western part of Poland, while subspecies tenuifolius is subcontinental taxon, occurring mainly in the eastern part of the country.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of 3-year phenological observations of Callery pear (Pyrus calleryana) trees growing in green areas in the city of Poznań. The study was carried out in the years 2010, 2012 and 2013 at four localities of the species representing two cultivars of Callery pear: ‘Chanticleer’ and ‘Capital’. The observations included the course of leaf development, leaf colouration and leaf fall, as well as fruit ripening and fall. Sixteen phenophases were taken into account. The observed trees were characterised by a long vegetation season lasting for approx. seven months, plentiful flowering lasting on average 15–19 days, attractive autumn leaf colouration and an exceptionally long period of leaf remaining on trees – even to the end of November. Fruits were noted on the trees only in 2013. The differences in timing and duration of Callery pear phenophases from year to year, between sites and cultivars are pointed out and discussed.
