- In this article the author referring to the history of education in Poland is looking for inspiration for the debate on education through labor. He recalls the views of the classics on the role of the teacher in the educational process and clearly formulated goals, which should be implemented for the good of the child and the entire nation. Examples of good practice adopted child careproposed in the early twentieth century by K. Lisiecki, K. Jeżewski and B. Markiewicz show that education to work and by working already seved prepare young people to participate in social life. It turns out that the ideas ofthe classics are still valid and shoud be used in modern concepts of personal development of man and society.
