Opis:
Situations of conflict in the educational environment appear for a number of different reasons, and their transmissions in the media cause their escalation, as they present abrasive people as modern heroes. Up till now there have been attempts to explain conflicts by means of the existing concepts that belong to the sphere of dynamics of the group. However, it has to be remembered that a conflict is a clash caused by different attitudes, aims, or ways of acting. Anywhere where people show any aspirations conflicts are unavoidable. Controversies are not aroused by a man who does not do anything, or who has suppressed all his creative activities. From this perspective it can clearly be seen that conflicts may also be creative. Avoiding this type of conflicts systematically may lead to making the group barren, to a standstill and to a groove that has a destructive effect. When one has a difficult choice between repressions and democracy, God himself arouses hope, when he announces: “I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh” (Ezek 36, 26-28). In this way he foretells the possibility of reaching true harmony in the life of every human community. Solving situations of conflict in a catechetical group may happen through the acceptance of the seven factors that are the conditions for the prevalence of good spirit in the group. In this way the conflicted group may be shown good perspectives of its development.

A great deal of aid in defining the role of an adult in a pluralist society may come nowadays from the field of religious education comprised within the catechesis of adults. In its assumptions it emphasizes the fact that the ultimate aim of a man’s activity is not only the physical and material promotion of the person, but giving the Christian testimony as well. It also reminds about the necessity to be engaged in educational activities aiming at creating the attitudes of a devoted service to another man in an ecclesiastical community. The catechesis of adults is a challenge and a binding index in education of adults, which first of all touches the conscience. Faithfulness to it is a test of humanity and its internal truth. At the same time it is an attempt to give a meaning to religious education of adults.

One of the greatest problems modern religious education struggles with is the decreasing participation in the sacramental life of ever greater number of Catholics. It seems that the only antidote to this situation may be an in-depth mystagogic catechesis that will help overcome the magic and superficial perception of liturgy. In the present article an attempt is undertaken to synthetically define the very reality of mystagogy, and the two basic notions, on which it is based, that is „symbol” and „mystery”, are subjected to analysis. A proper understanding of these terms are necessary to work out a modern conception of mystagogic catechesis.

In the reflection carried out attempts to answer the question about the relationship between catechesis and media in Poland. It was agreed that the guarantee of orthodoxy and integrity of catechesis give only the Catholic media, acting under control of the competent authority of the Church. In the course of reflection have been presented indications of the Church concerning the mass media and criteria for their catholicity. It has been shown the importance of media for catechesis and presented the most important existing in Poland Catholic media and their coverage. Among the postulates dominated those concerning the creation of Catholic media and the preparation of professional staff who would take care about both content and form.

In most European countries religion is taught within the frames of the system of public education, although the status of the teaching is different in different countries. In the face of dynamic cultural changes, to which modern European societies are subject, ever more often discussion is launched on the shape of religion teaching. Also in Poland the conception of religion teaching is constantly looked for, and attempts are made to define its relation to parish catechesis. In this context the models of religion teaching existing in Europe have been subjected to analysis. The aim of the present article is answering the questions: what models of religion teaching are most frequently used in Europe and what are their characteristic features? Taking into consideration the criterion of confession, confessional and non-confessional models are distinguished. With respect to the level of realization of the catechetical function and the function of school the former ones are divided into two categories: catechetical-evangelizing and informational-educational. Non-confessional models, in turn, are systematized in three groups: Christian – the supra-confessional model, religious studies and interreligious model.

Opis:
Catechesis that is open to man and his development is in close contact with the catechized one, who not only profits from it, but at the same time takes part in creating it. In the field of revealing problems, as well as of asking questions, the catechized ones, especially young people, have to overcome several difficulties: first they have to realize the problem, then to formulate it, and finally, to put it into words in the face of the catechist, or even of the whole group. Each of these stages encounters some difficulties. Especially, when particular stages are accompanied by fear connected with formulating the problem itself, or fear of the reaction of the group. In all these stages the catechist should help the catechized one: he should facilitate the realization of the existing problem, then he should help to formulate it, and especially to ask the question. There is a possibility that the catechist, using the proper introduction, will lead the catechized one to the situation in which he will feel the problem and formulate the question. Contemporary catechesis may only be realized in the form of a dialogue of the catechized ones and the catechist, in their mutual openness to reality and to each other. The dialogue is inherent in the essence of catechesis.

The personalistic profiling of the catechetic didactics puts the category of "person” in the core of its teaching methodology, and of its all educative and initiation efforts. This approach to religious education also adopts personalistic understanding of the Revelation and the faith, thanks to which religious education builds a community of people united around the Person of Jesus Christ. This community allows for the unique form of dialogue between God and man. The nature of this dialogue is soteriological: the personal worlds of God and man overlap, which allows man to cling fully – as a person and as an existence – to the redeeming Truth – Jesus Christ. In its personalistic dimension, religious education serves man in the reality and of his/her existence. It leads to a personal communion with Christ, it supports man on his/her path towards self-comprehension and self-development, which makes man self-realize him/herself as a person, makes him/her grow and thrive.

Catechetic documents emphasize that adjusting the catechesis to its addressee should be understood as an exceptionally maternal activity on the part of the Church that recognizes each person, also an intellectually disabled one, as a Divine role and a Divine structure (cf. I Cor 3, 9), who should not be ignored, but has to be cultivated and built with hope. The deciding criterion is the Church’s care of each man, care of transmitting the only Word that redeems. This criterion inspires each form of catechesis, and especially the catechesis of people intellectually disabled, requiring religion teachers to show proper competence and creativity (cf. General Directory of Catechesis 169, 189; CT 31; CCC 24-25). Catechetic documents also suggest that the psycho-pedagogical characteristics of intellectually disabled people should be considered in such a way, which could allow preparing a special catechesis for them. In Poland special catechesis tries to achieve this aim, taking into consideration the terminology respecting both the standards of special pedagogy and the directives of the Catholic Church concerning catechesis, as well as the Polish catechetic tradition

The efficiency of religious education depends on a variety of factors, including, to a large degree, the identity and competence of religion teachers and catechists. For this reason it is necessary to work out new, ever more efficient ways to form the staff of teachers. This is to be aided also by empirical studies that are conducted in this field. The article presents the results of studies of a two hundred-person group of religion teachers working in the Radom diocese. The results confirm high moral-religious as well as didactic-methodic qualifications of the subjects, who are devoted Catholics and treat teaching religion as the realization of their own Christian vocation. They understand in the proper way the conception of teaching religion that is binding in Poland and they realize the postulates of methodic pluralism.

Opis:
“The places for catechesis” is one of the catechetical issues that has been tackled by General Catechetical Directory. The issue is also addressed by national directories. It has been faced by French bishops in the document Texte national pour l’orientation de la catéchèse de France et principles d’organisation. The document was published in 2006. French bishops point to four main places where catechesis takes place: family, the youngest, school, other places where life goes on. The conclusion of the article is the following: the place of catechesis is where a modern Christian is. It is not a man who should search for places for catechesis, but catechesis itself, through its representatives, catechists, has to search for a man and reach him.

The significance of family Marian catechesis in Poland has been increased by a series of historical events involving Marian revelations and by the pastoral strategy of the Catholic Church. The Marian catechesis was not only included in the plans of religion teaching, textbooks and catechisms, but was also present in the Marian traditions of Polish families. Before children started school or parish catechesis which dealt with the subject of Virgin Mary, they already had extensive knowledge of Her and they could pray to Her. Living in families, they could also easily understand all bonds that mother and son share. In the case of Virgin Mary, they easily acquired the truth that Her Son is God and that She, like every mother, does not leave anyone in need. The Marian catechesis, invariably passed to the catechisized in the family environment, also today must constitute guidance for Poles in answering the question: “what to believe in, how to act and what means of grace to use in order to achieve salvation?” In the layer of content, there must be a clear reference to the mysteries of Christ connected with the life of Blessed Virgin Mary. Religious elements, historical traditions and Marian educational ideas should further converge into one voice praising Mary, Mother of God-Man.

The article starts with a presentation of various definitions of aggression. Then the author presents different divisions of aggression, the factors that cause it, and the circles, in which aggression most often occurs. The next stage is presenting aggression as moral evil, to which a believer may not be indifferent. Counteracting aggression and stopping the aggression that already exists, is the last part of the present article. The definitions quoted in the article allow one to understand better not only the concept of aggression, but also its causes and results. The knowledge of the specific circles and of the factors causing aggression is very significant in the educational process. Every aggressive act, or even the intention to commit it, is morally evil. The awareness of this should incline both the teachers and the pupils to counteract aggression, as well as to refrain from aggressive acts, or weaken the aggressive acts that already exist.

The article is a form of searching for proper tools for evangelization and catechetic work. At the same time it joins the current of realization of the tasks of catechetical service that are mentioned in the Roman General Catechetical Directory (analysis of pastoral activities, analysis of the religious situation, social-cultural analysis, formulating the program of work, working out tools and teaching aids for the needs of catechization (cf. General Catechetical Directory 279-283) and is a proof of the fact that reflection on the situation of catechesis in Europe continues and that it should bear fruit. Social transformations that have occurred in Europe make the former structure of the Church not so effective as far as its pastoral work is concerned. There is the need to transform the model of the Church into such one that would be more adequate to minority structure of Christians in countries where such a situation is obtaining now. In the light of the above factors it seems that it is impossible to create a uniform model of catechesis for all Europe.

Opis:
The term “vocation” may be understood in many different ways, and in Christianity, most generally, calling a man by God to lead a certain way of life or to perform certain tasks, is defined in this way. Forming the calling, or vocation, although it is a distinct activity, is also closely connected with other aims and tasks of Christian education realized in catechesis. This means that in order to understand and to realize the calling that God directs to a Christian, formation is significant that touches all the dimensions or spheres that are distinguished in the structure of a man as a person; with activities connected with moral education of a child, with prayer and the practice of love, and with manifold forms of education in faith having immediate significance. These questions are at the foundations of setting tasks to modern catechesis that not only aims at making it possible for the catechized one to assimilate faith, but forms the proper attitude of a Christian life and stimulates the fruit of sanctity.

Nowadays the Church has a great challenge connected with taking up evangelization again. It must be an answer to signs of the times, to the needs of present people and to the conditions in which the man lives. In these complex and difficult realities there is a need for Christians capable of sharing their faith, who will keep on preaching with fervour and apostolic enthusiasm. As it is indicated in Instrumentum laboris, catechists can cope with this task. They are the subjects of passing on the faith and they are responsible for its preaching. In the document there are suggestions about how they should carry out their mission. However, they need more detailed elaboration. All these matters are to be discussed during 13th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops. We must hope that they will meet specific solutions, becoming an impulse to greater involvement in passing on the faith by catechists participating in the new evangelization through their service.
