Opis:
The main goal of this publication is the attempt to answer the question: what is the leading type of raw material used in the manufacturing process of spare parts for agricultural machinery of the type selected. Such action in the conviction of authors will determine which of these areas the savings should be searched for, especially in the context of a lean - implying flexibility of the organization - management. In the context of the implementation of the predetermined basic goal, according to the authors, it is necessary to carry out a series of indirect actions, among which the following were distinguished: Analysis of the literature on management of lean organization, which implicitly allows to verify the accuracy and soundness of the research presented in the publication, Determining what type of raw material is the most commonly used in the production of a tested part of the, which will allow for the development of lean cost strategies within it. In the research the conceptual model thesis was adopted, namely: Type of raw materials used in the manufacture of selected spare parts implies a strategy for the cost leaning within it. This article is part of a preliminary study in the analysis and selection of raw materials in the context of lean management.

Implementation of Lean Management striving for elimination of all the waste in business units becomes more and more important and even necessary in industrial companies, as well as in service providing organizations. The following paper is focused on analysis of a setup process in polygraph industry with application of one of the most common Lean tools - SMED. As in printing-houses times of setup is usually much longer than time of production, analysis of a setup process seems to be crucial for efficiency of printing process. Hence, the following paper includes brief description of Lean approach and introduction of its goals, as well as presentation of SMED methodology in scientific literature. In its second part it presents main ideas of SMED methodology and description of its stages. The next part of the paper provides presentation of the real process of setup in the analyzed company.

Increasing cooperation trends force firms to roll out their strategic management approaches like lean management to their intra- and interorganizational network. Regarding lean management as a people-oriented management approach we argue that a successful roll-out constitutes a learning process comprising the level of individuals (i.e. managers and employees) as one of the most important factors. In this article we aim at recommendations for realizing competitive advantages by an efficient roll-out processes focussing the individual level. Therefore we look at cooperations as social networks. Combining the accepted relational view and social exchange theory we develop a framework for realizing relational rents regarding the individual level. We argue that the individual level acts as an enabler and has the potential to be managed depending on the stage of corporation development. Summing up we suggest the constructs of exchanged resources, individual assets and relationship structures and characteristica to be approaches for an effective management of exchange-relationships.

Which criteria must a product meet so that it would be attractive from the point of view of its implementation? This article is an attempt to answer the stated question. The authors based their article on theoretical knowledge, direct interviews with managers of manufacturing plants and their own work experience. They considered it justified to present a criterion which is complexity of choice as a domain influencing its attractiveness from the point of a future manufacturer's view. On the theoretical plane, the authors want to conduct an in-depth study of literature on the concept of lean management being the determinant of the manufacturer's flexibility and, in the same time, creating an ability to match the product. On the practical plane, the authors want to prove that the product complexity is one of basic factors testifying its attractiveness because the more complex the product is, the greater is the ability to systemic "slimming" of its sub-assemblies.

Companies searching for a key to further development and maintaining an advantage over their competition pay attention to various factors. Some invest in technological innovations, other choose process and organizational structure optimization, some focus on building an organizational culture promoting effectiveness or search for new market opportunities. This publication will focus on those companies, which build their position among their competitors based on properly implemented loss elimination strategy. Therefore, the purpose of this publication (a second part of an ongoing cycle) is to analyze the selected products focusing in the participation of raw material purchase cost in the total production cost of a given product.

The purpose of the following publication (consisting of two parts) is to perform a query of literature, which is in direct relation with the research subject of analysis of costs of purchase raw materials used in the production process. Currently, much is being said about a system, which would improve productivity and effectiveness and limitation of production costs connected with general cost minimisation, and broadly understood Lean Manufacturing philosophy. Assuming that the raw material cost amounts to 70% of the total production cost of the final product, the authors decided that it is justified to develop a model strategy, whose implementation will have a tangible effect i.e. the reduction of raw material cost, which will bring distinguishable results in the form of improved value of the production facility.

This article shows step by step process of creating general algorithm saying how to implement continuous flow in production companies. Article is based on real environment of medium Polish production company, which produces steel halls. After presenting basic information about TOC and LEAN tools it shows and algorithm showing activities and sequence made in real company. Authors proposed solutions referred to both the material flow changing's and the information flow changing's. Main goal was adapt production process to unchangeable work of bottleneck. After all, results of production flow simulation after implementation of above solutions were presented. Finally, authors created algorithm based on techniques and tools implemented in mentioned company. It shows in general what production engineers should do step by step while implementing continuous flow in production.

Then the results of the improvements to be implemented were analyzed in relation to the area functioning in accordance with the old system within the same production hall. The issue of disturbances in the system approach in connection with the introduction of changes was discussed only for a single process.

Opis:
On the basis of a thorough analysis of the subject literature combined with empirical research, the article shows that contemporary Lean-based supply management is not only a matter of cutting costs or improving lead times. In business practice, the efficiency of Lean transformation against the whole supply chain, to a greater extent, depends on the quality of relationships with suppliers, which must, above all, be based on a mutually beneficial collaboration. In order to improve the flows between the manufacturer and his supplier, and to observe the principle of the Lean Concept, entities use a series of support tools and methods. In large companies, which are active on the global B2B market, it is an increasingly more common practice to develop the so-called Lean Matrix, which is a basis for Lean audit at the supplier’s. It is also a good practice to develop Lean supplier development programmes in order to support continuous and sustainable development, in accordance with the principles of the Lean Concept.
