Opis:
The present study examined the possibility of using geothermal energy in the area of Jędrzejów. Determination of the potential of thermal resources in this area was possible due to deep boreholes drilled in previous years. The analysis concerned the assessment of the geological setting, depth of aquifers, water temperature and mineralization, discharge rates of wells, reservoir parameters, and the value of geothermal resources. Promising zones for acquiring geothermal energy are the central (Cenomanian and Upper Jurassic aquifers) and north-eastern parts (Trias- sic aquifer) of the area. Taking into account discharge rates of wells and water temperature, the geothermal resources of the region are promising mainly in the context of their use in recreation and/or balneotherapy. There is a certain possibility of developing the resources for heating purposes, but generally this option would require using of heat pump systems. Based on the calculated value of the energetic potential of the aquifers, the Cenomanian aquifer has been selected as the most interesting. For this aquifer, a simple scheme of geothermal pool installation was proposed.

The article presents the results of the research on the variability of selected physicochemical properties and exploitation parameters of healing waters in Szczawno-Zdrój. Based on the results of physicochemical analyses it was observed that the mineralization of the Mieszko and Marta waters has gradually increased over the years (1963-2017). At the same time, a decrease in the amount of dissolved carbon dioxide in these waters was observed. In addition, there was no evidence of a significant relationship between well discharge and the CO2 content. Variations of CO2 concentration are so significant in the Młynarz intake that these waters should be classified as carbonate rather than CO2 - rich water. It has also been shown that the content of this gas in the Młynarz and Mieszko 14 intakes varies considerably depending on the discharge (rh = 0.7). The correlation occurs with less intensity in a smaller Marta and Dąbrówka intakes (rh = 0.3). A declining trend is also observed in the Rn content in the Marta intake. For this parameter there was no relationship with discharge changes. All analyzed springs are characterized by seasonal changes in their discharge. Generally, the variability of the analyzed parameters ranges from about 28% to a maximum of 43% relative to the respective mean values.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to describe how the potentiometric surface fluctuations are able to influence on the concentrations of ions in groundwater. The research based on the data provided by the groundwater monitoring network of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute (PGI-NRI) from the Warta catchment in the period of 24 years of record (1991–2014). In the first stage of analysis the measured concentrations of ions: Cl–, Mg2+, Mn2+, Ca2+, Na+, SO4 2–, K+, HCO3 – were examined in conjunction with the groundwater level fluctuations in 29 monitoring points (in case of confined aquifers “groundwater level” was regarded as the potentiometric surface measured in the hydrogeological borehole). There were found statistically significant correlations between some of the concentrations of analysed ions and the fluctuations of groundwater level. Ions: Mg2+ in the point nr 6 and 226, Cl– and Na+ in the point nr 581 were subjected to further testing because their concentrations showed the strongest linear correlation with the potentiometric surface. In the second stage of study, the classical least-squares regression method was applied to build the linear models for these dependencies. The obtained results show that the fluctuations of potentiometric surface were able to explain from 30 to 56% of the variation of ion concentration.

Opis:
Hydrogeological documetation in the terms of deposit exploitation, water injection to the rock formations, drainage, and other mining activity requires the characteristic of groundwater conditions, mainly in the field of groundwater hazards. Hydrogeological documentations are the basis for granting or renewing a concession. The necessity of a general description in hydrogeological documentation as a result of legal regulations is justified and understood, although broader and non-standard scope should be revised, connected with: development of research methods in hydrogeology, scope of their applicability, modern research methodology for measurement and evaluation of hydrogeological parameters, new mining techniques. Commonly realized documents include, among other things, characteristics of hydrogeological conditions, in particular the extent of geological structure planned for water injection, depth, thickness and capacity of reservoirs, hydrogeological parameters, groundwater flow directions, isolation conditions and hydrogeological parameters of rock formations directly above reservoirs. Based on the documented work, the paper describes the problem of presenting the most important hydrogeological aspects that determine the possibility of water injection into the rock formations, the scope of hydrogeological investigations and justification of the observation and measurement conducted for the assessment of environmental hazards caused by water injection.
