Opis:: Time series of investigations of selected mineral waters in the Piwniczna Spa prove the occurrence of progressive negative changes indicated by results of tritium concentration and chemical composition measurements. In some boreholes a systematic decrease of mineralization in time is observed – sometime taking the form of a drastic disappearance. According to available data this is caused by the opening of new migration paths for gaseous geogenic CO2 and, increased inflow of modern (tritium containing) waters to several wells. The latter possibility is especially visible in a case of P-5 and P-6 boreholes. Based on analytical results the necessity of regular observations of selected boreholes is postulated.

Opis:: The PSH Database Integrator as a sophisticated tool for groundwater management answers the needs of the Polish Hydrogeological Survey. At the first stage it is a functional integration system for all hydrogeological databases existing in the Polish Geological Institute such as those of Groundwater Monitoring, HYDRO Bank and Hydrogeological Map of Poland. The final stage of all kind of analysis involves cartographical representation of the results. Using the PSH Database Integrator in this process reduces labour input and time as well as helps keeping standards. Next stage in the system development will enable internet access for users.

Opis:: The long-term exploitation of sulphur deposits in the Tarnobrzeg region along with intense groundwater drainage caused a change of hydrodynamic and hydrogeochemical conditions. After the finishing of mining activities, the area has been reclamed, causing a return to near-natural conditions. Therefore, the geological and hydrogeological conditions are currently close to natural. This area is prospective for extraction of mineralized sulphide waters and their use in balneotherapy.
