Opis:
In recent years a regular activity has been taken for the registration and monitoring of areas at risk of mass movements and landslides throughout Poland. Extensive inventory work in the sites predisposed to occurrence of landslides, initiated a search in order to improve traditional methods of mapping landslides. The traditional method relies mainly on the analysis of topographic maps, geological and geomorphological mapping in the field. For areas of extreme danger the newer mainly non-invasive methods were tried to be used such as a satellite or aerial photos. In this article have been also tested one of the more modern methods of three-dimensional imaging earth - Airborne Laser Scanning. This method is applicable to the selected landslide in the region of Łaoenica (Municipality Lanckorona). Amajor advantage of the method is the ability to filter out vegetation and other objects on the ground, which results in precise terrain model. Multiple imaging using laser scanning method, allows to obtain a precise differential model, thus in effect information on landslide activity.

Opis:
The paper presents the succession of Sanian Glaciation sediments recognized in the Swiętoszówka site, Southern part of the Silesian Foothills (Bielsko division). The following deposits were found: a unit ofgravels deposi- ted in a system offoremountain alluvialfans, a unit of silts deposited in a glaciomarginal dammed lake, and a glacial till. Glaciogenic deposits are covered with loess-like deposits. The development of the glaciomarginal zone was influ- enced mainly by the pattern ofbasement relief. In the northern part of the foothill, in the northward-oriented valleys, glacially dammed lakes were mainlyformed. During transgression, waterfrom these reservoirs was pushed in front of the ice-sheet margin towards the southern part of the low-relieffoothill. The individual lakes probably merged there into one larger glaciomarginal lake. It was characterized by low-energy conditions and deposition mainly from suspension. Sedimentation style in the lake changed over time and was dependent on the size and shape of the lake and its position in relation to the ice-sheet margin, which determined thewidth and distribution ofzones of sediment supply and the dynamics ofdepositional processes in the lake.

The Jodłówka region is located in the north-eastern part of the Dynowskie Foothills. The region is characterized by a very high density of landslides and is composed of Cretacoeus-Tertiary sediments of the Skole Nappe. The Inoceramian Beds are the dominant lithologal unit overlain with the Variegated Shales. The present paper focuses on the influence of geological and geomorphological factors upon the landslide occurrence on a local scale. The analysis is based on digital data set including active landslides as well as various types of digital elevation models (DTM), aerial photography and geological maps. These data were combined to compute landslide susceptibility map using index methods.

Opis:
In 2010-2015, various research teams conducted geological operations on the Kurów landslide. They independently documented the course of deep-seated slip surfaces. The studies were carried out in three stages, embracing preparation of expert’s reports, geological documentation, and reports on monitoring work. The procedures used in Małopolska, worked out within the framework of the SOPO (LCS-Landslide Counteracting System) project, were of great importance during the recognition and protection ofpart of the landslide area. It was proposed that the scope (depth and distribution of boreholes) have been consulted with the appropriate representative of the scientific surveillance of the PGI-NRI Carpathian Branch in Cracow before the tendering procedure.

Nineteen samples were collected from four loess profiles: Dybawka, Tarnawce, Dankowice and Biały Kościół for purposes of TL and OSL dating. The samples were collected from loess, interstadial fossil soil, Eemian soil and Holocene soil. The results were presented in the form of TL=f (OSL) date chart. The majority of TL dates are older than OSL dates. The results of LMg luminescence dating run parallel to the straight line of equal ages. The chart shows a high similarity of TL and OSL dates. The results are consistent with the stratigraphic diagnosis. Loess grains frequently show an age heterogeneity (two or more OSL dates are provided for a single sample).

The traditional methods rely mainly on the analysis of topographic maps, geological and geomorphological mapping in the field. This article also descrobes the test of one of the modern methods of three-dimensional earth imaging – Airborne Laser Scanning. A major advantage of the method is the ability to filter out vegetation and other objects on the ground, which results in a precise terrain model. The relief inside the landslide consists of several secondary scarps and two lakes. The aim of the geophysical survey was primarily to interpret the geological structure of the landslides basement and the landslide body structure and to determine the depth of occurrence of the slide zone. It occurs at the shallowest depth in the upper part of the landslide, where Quaternary deposits are sliding down the slope of the surface of the top of variegated shales. The depth of slide surface increases significantly from the tectonic overthrust, where variegated shales are thrust on the hale-sandstone flysch layers of the Krosno Beds. In this part of the landslide, the slip surface can be at a depth of even 25 metres and is developed only within the flysch Krosno Beds.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to examine the variability of physical and chemical characteristics of two springs located in the Zagórzański Stream catchment (Spisko-Gubałowskie Foothills, Podhale region). Calcareous tufa occurs at one of the investigated springs. Field studies were conducted once a month from 25th March 2017 to 28thFebruary 2018. Water of the studied springs represents the bicarbonate-calcium-magnesium type during almost the whole year. The chemical composition of both springs is characterized by seasonal variability. The highest concentrations of most ions occurred in the summer, when the rainfall was the lowest and during winter drought; while the lowest concentration - in the period of increased rainfall. The variability of physical and chemical parameters of the spring with tufa is smaller than the other one. The spring with calcareous tufa stands out by the higher concentration of Mg2+ and SO42- and the presence of radon. The unique landscape values of the surroundings and hydrogeochemical features of the spring with calcareous tufa favour this place as an interesting hydro-tourism attraction in the Bukowina Tatrzańska region.
