Chilean projects for a concordat (1928) - Opis:

Due to the separation of the Church and the Chilean State, as stated by the Constitution of 1925, conversations took place, in order to celebrate a concordat between the Chilean State and the Holy See, without any concrete knowledge of projects aimed at this end. The opening of the Vatican Secret Archive, with reference to the funds of Pope Pius XI’s pontificate has enabled the knowledge of drafts written in 1928 by the Chilean Government with the intention of reaching an international agreement on such matter. These Chilean drafts used as a model the concordats that earlier had been agreed by the Holy See with Lithuania (1927), and Poland (1925), including various dispositions that followed closely the norms of the Polish concordat. The Chilean projects for a concordat written in 1928, and the influence on the articles exerted by the Polish concordat of 1925 are herein presented and analyzed.
Con ocasión de la separación entre la Iglesia y el Estado en Chile, regulada en la Constitución Política de 1925, hubo conversaciones tendientes a la celebración de un concordato entre el Estado de Chile y la Santa Sede sin que se conocieran proyectos concretos con esa finalidad. La apertura del Archivo Secreto Vaticano en lo referido a los fondos del pontificado del Pío XI ha permitido conocer los borradores que se redactaron en 1928 por el gobierno de Chile con la finalidad de llegar a un acuerdo internacional de esa naturaleza. En la redacción de los mismos se usaron como modelos los cocordatos que, poco antes, había celebrado la Santa Sede con Lituania (1927) y Polonia (1925), siendo numerosas las disposiciones de los proyectos chilenos que siguen de cerca las normas del concordato polaco. Se presentan los proyectos chilenos de concordato elaborados en 1928 y se analiza el influjo que en sus artículos ejerció el concordato con Polonia de 1925. - Źródło:
