Opis:
The aim of this article is to show the Christological - Sacramental bases of the «mysticism» of Eucharist in encyclical Deus caritas est by Benedict XVI. Three connected with oneself questions were undertaken within our considerations closely. The analyses of the foundation of Eucharistic «mysticism» were executed of in first place what there is the secret of God’s Son incarnation. Reports setting between Last Supper, death and Resurrection the Christ and Eucharist were considered then. The essence of the eucharistic «mysticism» which consists in the man timehononoured unification with God and the influence of Eucharist on being shaping the Communion Ecclesiological was introduced on the last stage.

Opis:
John Sinaites devoted the last part of his treatise The Ladder of Divine Ascent to the discussion of a breakthrough moment in asceticism, which opens the way into a mystical relationship with God. What is indinspensable to achieve it are the four gifts that a monk receives from God: hesychia, prayer, dispassion (apatheia) and love. Although each of them is vital in the process of unification, in Climacus’s opinion the most important of them is hesychia, understood as a gateway to union with God, a bridge between the intertwining spheres of asceticism and mysticism.

Opis:
The article presents the history of the Sepher Yetzirah (Book Yetzirah, Yetzirah Book) – the earliest written work of Jewish mysticism or esoterism. Sepher Yetzirah arose in the first centuries A.D., so the prevalent opinion that it exemplifies the kabbalistic writing is false (viz. Kabbalah is the branch of Jewish mysticism/esoterism which came into being around XII century). The article deals with the hypotheses about the time the treatise was written, the problem of the authorship of the book, it analyses the title and presents the main ideas of this influential work – Sefer Yetzirah played namely an enormous role in the whole Jewish mystical, esoteric system of thought. Apart from Sefer ha-Zohar and Sefer ha-Bahir, the Book Yetzirah was the fundamental book which was explored and widely commented by a great number of kabbalists. For this reason the article briefly characterizes also the Jewish commentators of the book, as well as takes up the question of the variety of versions and editions of Sepher Yetzirah, and, besides, contains the information about the translations of the book (written in various languages). Furthermore, the present text describes the structure of the work and gives the characteristic of each yetziratic chapter, placing emphasis on the role playing in the Yetzirah Book by the concept of ten sephiroth and twenty two letters of Hebrew alphabet. The article is also noted into bibliographical guidelines on the presented topic.

Böhm’s mysticism aroused the opposition of orthodox Lutheranism. Numerous Aurora texts indicate that Böhme took into account the four principles of the Reformation. Böhm’s Aurora contains the reformational principle the grace itself and the anthropology implied by it, about the non-free will of human being. While in Luther thoughts were dominated by the functional Christology, in the Böhme’s – essential Christology. The essence of this Christology is to call Christ Aurora. From the essential Christology, Böhme, however, derived a functional conclusion, which is the postulate of the following Christ. In contrast to Luther, who focused on the des qua, Böhme focuses primarily on des quae. Although Auroracontains numerous references to the Bible, the very title of Böhme’s most famous work is the result of an experience with a tin vessel. Luther would blame Böhme of illumination, that is, the possibili- ty of an internal, omitting the biblical Word, communicating the Spirit of God with human. Böhme was a theosophist, means either theologian and philosopher, in one person. As a theologian, he drew the knowledge from God’s revelation, and as a philosopher he perceived the traces of God in the world. He had a premonition that reason and faith can not contradict themselves, because ultimately they have a common source in God.

Opis:
The article analyzes Rozmyślania sandomierskie (Sandomierz Meditations) by Kasper Drużbicki, a 17th century Jesuit. The text, which was probably read out during a monastic retreat, borders on homiletics and mystical writing. The author of the present article interprets it through the prism of strongly marked elements of Platonic and Neoplatonic tradition and tries to reconstruct the spiritual, philosophical and linguistic phenomena occurring at the interface of the physical and metaphysical spheres, among others the way symbols function, the shaping of the semantics of words, instability of the category of time, mutual permeation and complementation of the fields of esthetics and anesthetics. There are numerous references to philosophical writings and contemporary contexts within the theory of literature but their purpose is not so much to bring out factographical or historical dependencies or the existence of conscious intertextual references but rather to provide a detailed and multifaceted depiction of the main themes of Drużbicki’s work also in an attempt to elicit on these grounds certain general regularities in the history of human thought and religion.

Opis:
Researchers agree that Mystical Autobiography of Marianna Marchocka, written at the end of the 1640’s and published in 1939 by Karol Górski, is an extraordinary phenomenon in 17th-century Polish literature, especially in Polish mystical literature. The Autobiography, compared with such works as the Autobiography of Teresa of Ávila, testifies to spiritual development of the Carmelite, provides a psychological study and a thorough record of female body experience. Despite the negativistic attitude of the nun to her body, as emphasized by researchers, both spirit and body were engaged in the mystical experiences of Marianna Marchocka – the body was involved in the experience of union with Jesus Christ. This article is an attempt to analyze spiritual and bodily signs of the Carmelite’s experience of a mystical relationship with God. Knowledge of the author’s personality and her attitude to her work, just like the analysis of mystical elation described in the Autobiography (paying special attention to the nun’s psyche and spirituality, and extraordinary bodily experience accompanying ecstasy) would not be possible without examining the genesis of the work, the importance that Marchocka attached to the act of writing itself and the author’s writing skills. What is of interest here is not only the bond between the Carmelite’s physicality and spirituality and her inner experiences and relationship with God, but also the literary expression of her attitude to her psyche and body.

Opis:
Saint Gertrude the Great (1256-1302) was a Saxon Christian saint. She died in the monastery of Helfta. As a young girl, she joined the Benedictine monastery at Helfta, under the direction of its abbess, Gertrude of Hackeborn. She is sometimes confused with her abbess, which is why she is often incorrectly depicted in art holding a crosier. She later experienced a conversion to God and began to strive for perfection in her religious life, turning her scholarly talents to scripture and theology. Many of the writings of St. Gertrude have unfortunately perished. Those now extant are: The Legatus Divinae Pietatis, the Exercises of St. Gertrude and the Liber Specialis Gratiae of St. Mechtilde. The Exercises, which are seven in number, embrace the work of the reception of baptismal grace to the preparation for death. Her glowing language deeply impregnated with the liturgy and scriptures exalts the soul imperceptibly to the heights of contemplation. St. Gertrude the Great hada very special devotion for the Sacred Heart. St. Gertrude taught that Jesus has given us the gift of His Sacred Heart so that, when suffering, we can seek our refuge and our consolation there. The characteristic trait of St. Gertrude's piety is her devotion to the Sacred Heart, the symbol of that immense charity which urged the Word to take flesh, to institute the Holy Eucharist, to take on Himself our sins, and, dying on the Cross, to offer Himself as a victim and a sacrifice to the Eternal Father.
