Opis:
This article presents a cycle of lyrical works entitled Z motywów Chopina (From Chopin’s themes) by Artur Oppman, published in 1893 in the volume Pieśni (Songs). The shape of this cycle had been modified over the years. In 1908, the poet changed its title and expanded it with new works. This change testifies to the evolution of the creative concept and the set of ideas about the function of the composer’s work. Contrary to the opinion rooted in the tradition of research about the conventional approach to the impact of Chopin’s work presented in Oppman’s lyrical poetry, the authors of the article demonstrate a far-reaching originality of the discussed work, focusing their attention both on issues related to understanding the narrowly-defined poetological knowledge and on the problem of translating musical means of expression into the language of a literary work.

Opis:
In my text I refer to contemporary art practices, including my own artistic investigations and intuitions; questioning creative powers of the human brain-mind system in the world increasingly dependent on and transformed by Big Data. Currently, with the global revolution of knowledge, driven by scientific and technological progress, creativity and innovation acquire special economic and social values. Research on biochemical processes accompanying creative behaviour stimulates the synergy between artistic, scientific and engineering communities. The acquired knowledge is used in medicine, biotechnology and various types of therapies as well as in deep learning methods. Increasing the efficiency of artificial intelligence systems that quickly take control over all areas of our lives. Will the nascent Internet-of-all-Things transform itself into the Internet-of-all Minds? As an artist, I pose myself a question, which artistic practices may emerge from the marriage of biological and digital algorithms? The future has many scenarios and shades…

Opis:
The article constitutes a detailed analysis and interpretation of one of the most important texts written at the turn of the twentieth century, which was devoted to the reception and interpretation of Frédéric Chopin’s compositions in the Young Poland period. In his work, Cezary Jellenta presents the nervous perception of the Polish composer’s music typical of the era and refers in his reflections to numerous works of painting and both Polish and world literature, which perfectly illustrates the fascination with the idea of the correspondence of arts. It is also a testimony to the foundations of the emerging music criticism and evidence of the undying adoration for Frédéric Chopin’s works.

Opis:
The garden presents itself as an area consciously created by the human being. Its representation is usually actualized in opposition both to what is natural and to what is artificial (e.g. to a city). Over many years now, the garden has been been considered to be a “cultural fossil”, and as such, an object of importance for literary critics, film critics, art historians, musicologists etc., and an anthropological phenomenon, which is demonstrated by contemporary juxtapositions of aesthetics with environmental science, pace Gernot Böhme, or the transcultural aesthetics promoted by Wolfgang Welsch). At this stage, we are very close to full understanding of the phenomenon of garden-topos, as well as the numerous garden metaphors. In Zbigniew Rybczyński’s film Orkiestra there are several areas of author’s interest in the garden created and filmed on a theatrical stage. The garden as a space of life-renewal, symbol of birth and metaphysical rebirth, a renewed experience of fulness. The garden as a space of ordered life, positive energy, areas of joy liberation, a synonym of goodness and ideals. Finally, as the symbol of return to creation, beauty, to the first beginning, to civilized and tame nature.

Opis:
The article describes the work of the poet from Cracow, the author of short stories, essayist and translator – Ewa Elżbieta Nowakowska. Her poems were situated on the map of Polish literature among the “born in the seventies”, in the strand of “emboldened imagination” poetry, in the background of “Cracow school of poetry”, in a circle of women’s poetry. The main themes of her work: religion, the world of nature, history, culture and were presented by selecting relevant examples of her poems. In the conclusion, it was hypothesized that the varied work of the poet combines with the interest in perception and cognition, for what is available for the sense of sight as well as for what is hidden: transcendence and the mystery of being, expressed in the poet’s works by the broad metaphor of “the eye”.
