    The article describes how to use the competence of a speech therapist in teaching Polish as a foreign language (especially at the early stage of the glottodidactic process). Teaching pronunciation is an integral element of teaching Polish as a foreign language and according to the authors of the article, it can be more effective if the following issues are taken into consideration: diagnosis of speech disorders (including efficiency of speech organs and phonemic hearing) and an efficient therapy. Such an approach is advised in the case of students: 1. who have no biological deficits, however have problems learning correct pronunciation; 2. who have speech defects; or 3. whose pronunciation in a learnt language is influenced by speech therapy.

    The article discusses the examples of movable past verbs’ suffixes and their usages as described in four old manuals for teaching Polish as a foreign language. They have been confronted with the results of T. Rittel’s and A. Kowalska’s research, which proves that the authors of the old manuals reflected the Polish language of their times in their textbooks. They usually give one form of the past verb, treating it as a model, which was well justified in the case of a spoken language.

    In the first part of the article the possibilities of mutual influence between methodology of Polish language teaching and glottodidactics of Polish language are discussed. The idea of cultural program and cultural method designed to realize it is briefly presented here. In the second part of the article the idea of cultural program is discussed in diachronic aspect: the possibility of introducing teaching (presentation) of foreign culture as a part of foreign lan-guage teaching as well as Polish culture as a part of teaching Polish as a foreign language. The article concludes with some predictions concerning leading tendencies in glottodidactics of Polish language between 2011 and 2020.

    Knowledge of word formation is an important element of the grammatical competencies of native speakers. Studying forms and functions of derivates and practising using them is also extremely important for foreigners studying Polish. This article contributes to the discussion about the position and function of word formation in the process of education. The authors claim that a specific system of derivation must determine the way in which it is taught. Critical analysis of solutions that have been used in glottodidactics, suggest a new approach, which would place the didactics of word formation ‘between’ grammar and vocabulary.

    The article describes some main problems that Bulgarian students meet during their study of Polish language. The main mistakes in usage of Polish prepositions are grouped in several typological categories and the possible reasons for those mistakes are briefly described. The analysis allows to classify the main difficulties in acquiring Polish prepositions and to build conscious strategy that allows avoiding them in the process of teaching Polish language.

    Artykuł porusza problematykę kształcenia językowego wspomaganego technologicznie (TELL – Technology-Enhanced Language Learning). W tekście zostały przedstawione wyniki badań ankietowych, które przeprowadzono wśród nauczycieli języka polskiego jako obcego po roku zdobywania doświadczeń w prowadzeniu zajęć zdalnych. Rezultaty zostały zestawione z wynikami badań z 2017 roku. Przeprowadzony wówczas sondaż miał charakter rozpoznawczy i koncentrował się na ocenie nastawienia dydaktyków (głównie nauczycieli akademickich) do nauczania wspomaganego komputerowo oraz możliwości wykorzystania technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych (TIK) w nauczaniu polszczyzny. Najnowsze badania mają na celu weryfikację tych spostrzeżeń oraz ocenę zmiany w świadomości i nastawieniu dydaktyków, którzy z dnia na dzień musieli przenieść swój warsztat pracy z sali wykładowej do przestrzeni wirtualnej. W badaniu kwestionariuszowym wzięło udział 65 osób. Analiza zebranych odpowiedzi ma charakter ilościowo-jakościowy. W badaniu nastawienia dydaktyków jpjo zastosowano dodatkowo technikę analizy językoznawczej opartej na metodologii fenomenologicznej. Wyniki badań wskazują na znaczny rozwój kompetencji technologicznej oraz umiejętności używania różnego rodzaju platform i aplikacji edukacyjnych przez nauczycieli, ale i podkreślają potrzebę doskonalenia metod nauczania w oparciu o podejście działaniowe, aby w pełni wykorzystać możliwości kształcenia językowego poprzez prowadzenie autentycznych działań komunikacyjnych w wirtualnym środowisku.
    Technology-enhanced language learning (TELL) is the subject of this article, focusing on the results of a survey conducted among teachers of Polish as a foreign language (TPFL) after they have accumulated one year’s worth of experience in holding remote classes. The results have been juxtaposed with those of a study conducted in 2017 on a similar group of respondents. Intended as a reconnaissance, that earlier poll aimed to assess teachers’ (including mainly academic teachers’) attitude towards computer-aided teaching and the possibility of using information and communication technologies (ICTs) in teaching Polish. The most recent study is intended to serve as a basis for comparison with the previous findings to assess the changes in viewpoint and attitude among the teachers who had had to move their workplace from the classroom into the virtual realm practically overnight. The questionnaire study covered 65 individuals. The analysis of thereturned answers is quantitative and qualitative. Additionally, the technique of linguistic analysis based on phenomenological methodology was used in this research into the attitudes of teachers and methodologists of Polish as a foreign language. The research findings point to the significant development of technological expertise and of skills related to using various kinds of educational applications and platforms by teachers, but also underscore the need to improve teaching methods based on an action-oriented approach, to make full use of the possibilities of language teaching by conducting genuine communication activities in a virtual environment.

    W artykule autorzy prezentują wielojęzyczną platformę e-learningową www.polski.info. Jest ona innowacyjna, interaktywna i przyjazna dla użytkownika. Jej celem jest ułatwienie dostępu osobom o różnych umiejętnościach, zainteresowaniach i potrzebach do technologii informacyjno-komunikacyjnych (Information and Communication Technologies – ICT). Platforma korzysta z nowoczesnych narzędzi ICT i pozwala na naukę języka od samego początku, oferując atrakcyjne ćwiczenia. Jest tworzona w kilkunastu językach i dostępna dla zainteresowanych z wielu krajów. Portal jest przeznaczony dla dorosłych, którzy chcą uczyć się języka polskiego i poszerzać swoją wiedzę o Polsce. Obejmuje m.in.: kurs języka polskiego na poziomie A1 i A2 (w przygotowaniu poziom B1), przewodnik po gramatyce języka polskiego, słownik z nagraniem poprawnej wymowy poszczególnych słów i zwrotów, narzędzia do komunikacji z odbiorcami i udostępniania postów w ramach sieci społecznościowych. Z jednej strony autorzy odnoszą się do szerszego kontekstu potrzeb potencjalnych użytkowników tej platformy, zwłaszcza w obszarze statystyk, postaw i rekomendacji Unii Europejskiej. Z drugiej zaś strony analizują ich oczekiwania na podstawie badań przeprowadzonych w dwu sąsiadujących z Polską krajach – w Czechach i na Litwie. Zastosowanie w analizie danych ankietowych metody ilościowej i jakościowej pozwala ustalić i porównać potrzeby Czechów i Litwinów w zakresie nauki języka polskiego oraz pokazać, w jakim stopniu struktura i treści powstającej platformy e-learningowej będą w stanie je zaspokoić.
    In their article, Irena Masojć and Jiří Muryc present a multilingual e-learning platform www.polski.info. It is innovative, interactive and user-friendly. Its aim is to facilitate access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for people with different skills, interests and needs. The platform uses modern ICT tools and allows students to learn the language from the very beginning, offering attractive exercises. It is available in several languages and caters to interested parties from many countries. The portal is designed for adults who want to learn Polish and expand their knowledge about Poland. It includes, among many things, Polish language courses at A1 and A2 levels (B1 level in preparation), a guide to Polish grammar, a dictionary with recordings of the correct pronunciation of individual words and phrases, tools for communicating with recipients and sharing posts on social networking sites. On the one hand, Masojć and Muryc refer to the broader context of the needs of potential users of this platform, especially in the area of statistics and the attitudes and recommendations of the European Union. On the other hand, they analyze prospective users’ expectations on the basis of research conducted in two neighboring countries, the Czech Republic and Lithuania. The use of quantitative and qualitative methods in the analysis of survey data has allowed the scholars to determine and compare the needs of Czechs and Lithuanians when it comes to learning Polish and to show the extent to which the structure and content of the emerging e-learning platform will be able to meet them.

    The article presents the most important language rules and tendencies in teaching Polish as a foreign language. The author fully discusses word lists that are obligatory on different levels of proficiency in Polish language, pointing out to their advantages and disadvantages. She reminds about the necessity of completing such lists caused by intensive globalization and computerization. The article presents also problems concerning language used by young peo-ple nowadays, that is not only under the process of constant changes but it also becomes ‘out of date’ very quickly. Using fashionable words and words that have become commonly used as an example the author of the article proves the importance of language intuition while preparing lists of vocabulary for a certain level of language proficiency. The author concen-trates also on describing problems concerning methods of teaching Polish as a foreign lan-guage that are connected with the rapid evolution of the language.

    Prescriptum zatytułowane Polonistyka nie tylko po polsku wyjaśnia genezę powstania wielojęzycznego numeru „Postscriptum Polonistycznego”, który wieńczy 30-lecie międzynarodowego charakteru czasopisma. 30 lat temu w piśmie – wtedy jeszcze będącym biuletynem Szkoły Języka i Kultury Polskiej Uniwersytetu Śląskiego – ukazał się pierwszy artykuł zagranicznej polonistki z Republiki Czeskiej, Haliny Klimszy. Niniejszy tekst bardzo krótko relacjonuje dzieje umiędzynarodowienia treściowego periodyku oraz etapy rozwoju, które doprowadziły do przekształcenia biuletynu w „pismo krajowych i zagranicznych polonistów” i do ostatnich decyzji redakcji o dopuszczeniu publikacji także w języku angielskim. Prescriptum stanowi objaśnienie motywacji stworzenia niniejszego numeru jako zbioru polonistycznych tekstów w językach ojczystych/pierwszych autorów-polonistów zagranicznych. Chcieliśmy i chcemy, by wiedza o interesujących zjawiskach i badaniach polskich i polonistycznych dotarła także do osób ciekawych świata, które w różnych krajach z powodu bariery językowej nie mogłyby jej nabyć. Pamiętamy też o młodym pokoleniu polonijnym, które nie zawsze już zna język przodków.
    The Prescriptum entitled Polonistyka nie tyko po polsku [Polish Studies not only in Polish] explains the origin of the multilingual issue of “Postscriptum Polonistyczne” that crowns the 30th anniversary of the periodical as an international publication. It was thirty years ago, in fact, that the journal, back then still a newsletter of the School of Polish Language and Culture at the University of Silesia, featured the first article by a foreign Polish studies scholar, Halina Klimsza from the Czech Republic. This text provides a very brief historical account of how the periodical became internationalised, describing the stages of its development that led to the transformation from a newsletter to a “journal of Polish and foreign Polish studies scholars”, and reporting on the editors’ most recent decisions to accept papers for publication also in the English language. The Prescriptum explains the motivation for creating this issue as a collection of Polish studies texts in the native/first languages of the foreign Polish studies scholars who wrote them. We wanted and still want to make sure that knowledge about interesting phenomena and research from Poland and in the field of Polish studies can reach all those who are curious about the world and who would otherwise not be able to obtain such information in their respective countries due to the language barrier. Moreover, we keep in mind young members of the Polish diaspora, who do not always understand the language of their ancestors.

    Opis:
    Celem artykułu jest zaprezentowanie problematyki nauczania języka i kultury polskiej w warunkach zdalnych na przykładzie Bałtyckiego Uniwersytetu Federalnego im. Immanuela Kanta w Kaliningradzie. Przedstawiony został przebieg wydarzeń edukacyjnych i kulturalnych promujących język i kulturę polską w roku akademickim 2020/2021, takich jak: Międzynarodowe Multimodalne Dyktando oraz konkurs krasomówczy PaintTalks, które zostały zorganizowane w ramach Dni Języka i Kultury Polskiej. Dodatkowo omówiono sposoby realizacji dwóch kursów przedmiotowych przeznaczonych dla studentów studiów licencjackich na kierunku filologia obca: język polski i literatura, które w całości odbyły się w formie online; są to: Wprowadzenie do kultury polskiej i Praktyczny język polski. Uwzględnione zostało także badanie ilościowe, a kwestionariusz ankietowy prezentuje opinie i refleksje uczestników kursów na temat atrakcyjności i efektywności takiej formy uczenia się języka obcego. Powodem podjęcia wybranej tematyki jest potrzeba odpowiedzi na aktualne wyzwania edukacyjne związane z nauczaniem online oraz zaprezentowanie różnorodnych przedsięwzięć promujących język i kulturę polską poza granicami kraju. Tekst wpisuje się we współczesne badania nad promocją języka polskiego jako obcego oraz glottodydaktyczne poszukiwania dotyczące polonistyk światowych.
    The purpose of the article is to discuss the issue of teaching the Polish language and Polish culture in remote conditions on the example of the Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad. The study presents the educational and cultural events promoting Polish language and culture in the academic year 2020/2021. They included the International Multimodal Dictation and the PaintTalks oratorical competition, which were organized as part of the Days of Polish Language and Culture. The article also presents the methods of implementing two subject courses intended for undergraduate students of foreign philology in the program Polish language and literature, which were entirely conducted in an online form: Introduction to Polish culture and Practical language Polish. Further, the paper shows the results of a quantitative study and of a questionnaire, which express the course participants’ opinions and reflections on the attractiveness and effectiveness of this form of learning a foreign language. The reason for taking up this topic is the need to respond to the current educational challenges related to online teaching and to present various projects aimed at promoting the Polish language and Polish culture abroad. The text is in line with contemporary research on the promotion of Polish as a foreign language and international glottodidactic studies of Polish.

    Pandemiczna rzeczywistość panuje na całym globie już od blisko dwóch lat. Wpływa ona na wszystkie obszary działalności człowieka, jego kondycję fizyczną i psychiczną. Rozmaite przejawy tej nowej rzeczywistości skłaniają do refleksji naukowej, w tym też do zastanowienia się nad różnie rozumianą „nowością” w (glotto)dydaktyce polonistycznej. O tak ukierunkowaną refleksję poproszono badaczki i badaczy z polskich i zagranicznych ośrodków akademickich. Zgromadzone teksty tematycznie oscylują wokół dwu „nowości”, które stają się już – jak można sądzić – codziennością w środowisku (glotto)dydaktycznym. Jednym z nowych trendów jest obecność nurtu humanistyki ekologicznej w podręcznikach do nauczania polszczyzny – zarówno jako mowy ojczystej, jak i jako języka obcego. Ten nowy, kształtujący się od lat 90. ubiegłego wieku paradygmat naukowy, wyznaczył narzędzia analizowania treści podręcznikowych i wpłynął na perspektywę oglądu funkcji, jakie powinny realizować podręczniki językowe w zakresie uwrażliwienia uczących się na problemy ekologiczne. Za drugą „nowość”, będącą tematem przewodnim kilku artykułów zamieszczonych w tym numerze, uznano kształcenie zdalne, które obecnie przestaje już być traktowane jako forma nadzwyczajna bądź zarezerwowana dla szczególnych typów kursów. Nagła konieczność szerokiego zastosowania narzędzi cyfrowych, znanych przecież w dydaktyce od lat, wpłynęła na działania i postawy zarówno nauczycieli, jak i uczniów. Artykuły pomieszczone w niniejszym numerze zostały podzielone na trzy tematyczne sekcje. Znajduje się w nim też część Varia oraz Sprawozdanie.
    The pandemic reality has prevailed around the globe for nearly two years now. It has affected all areas of human activity, as well as people’s physical and psychological condition. Various manifestations of this new reality encourage scientific reflection, including reflection on “novelty”, understood in different ways, in Polish (glotto)didactics. Researchers from Polish and foreign academic centres were asked to reflect on this topic. The texts collected here revolve around two “novelties”, which have already become, it seems, a part of everyday life in the (glotto)didactic milieu. One of the recent trends involves is the presence of environmental humanities (green studies) as a trend in textbooks for teaching Polish, both as a native language and as a foreign language. This new scientific paradigm, forming since the 1990s, has determined the tools for analysing textbook content and influenced the view on the functions that language textbooks should perform in making learners sensitive to environmental issues. The other “novelty”, which is the main theme of several papers published in this issue, is distance learning, which I ceasing to be considered extraordinary or reserved for specific types of courses. The sudden need for widespread use of digital tools, which in fact have already been known in teaching for many years, has affected the actions and attitudes of both teachers and students. The papers included in this issue are divided into three thematic sections. A Miscellany section and a Report are also included.
