The paper presents new results of identification of dynamic properties of the fuel preparation system for a steam boiler BP-1150 operating at "Opole" Electric Power Station. A fuel preparation system, which is an important part of a boiler, creates a number of problems connected with effective control of the boiler system. In order to improve the control performance, the first step is to develop accurate, control-related models of the boiler subsystems (Fig. 1). The results of identification of the other subsystems of the boiler are presented in Refs. [4, 6]. Since the model should be useful for model-based control, there is applied a simple, linear, dynamic model based on orthonormal basis functions (OBF) described by equations (1) (2) and (3) (the Laguerre functions has been used as the OBF). The dominant Laguerre pole p has been determined by means of the stochastic gradient (SG) estimator (presented in equations (4), (5) and (6)). The unknown model parameters are estimated by using classical estimation schemes - recursive/adaptive least squares (RLS/ALS). The results in Table 1 show that the high accuracy of identification has been obtained for the models presented in the paper. However, the performance of the adaptive model is essentially better than that of the recursive one. It is mainly due to the process nonlinearity. Better results can probably be obtained with use of nonlinear models e. g. nonlinear block-oriented models. - Źródło:
