Opis:
Influence of weather conditions on downy mildew and Ascochyta blight development on 12 pea genotypes, cultivated in Central Poland was examined in 1990-2000. Plants were somewhat more infected by Peronospora viciae f.sp. pisi than by Ascochyta complex fungi. Standard cultivars were less infected than breeding lines. Two periods of higher (1990, 1991 and 1995-1997) and two of lower (1992-1994 and 1998-2000) disease intensity were noted during 11 years of testing.

Opis:
Seeds collected from 10 genotypes of Pisum sativum of both foliage type, inoculated in field by Mycosphaerella pinodes and Phoma pinodella, were evaluated for incidence of fungi responsible for ascochyta blight. Also seed germination and contamination by other fungi were considered. Surface sterilized seeds were plated on Coon agar medium. A sample contains 50 seeds. Data were taken after 8 days of incubation. Frequency of species occurrence depended not only on characters of genotypes, weather conditions during 1998-2001, but on inoculation treatment. Clear response between genotypes to tested factors was noted. Seeds of normal leaved line 344/87/3 and cv. Rubin were the most inhabited by all fungi, and germinated very poorly. Seeds of eight genotypes, including cvs: Kwestor, Agra, Miko, were less infected and better germinated...

Opis:
Reaction of 25 conventional and 63 determinate forms of faba bean to artificial inoculation with A. fabae and B. fabae was evaluated over five years. The severity of infection of faba bean with A. fabae was significantly higher than with B. fabae. This was observed for the both morphological types. Most of the conventional forms were less infected than the determinate forms, but it was more distinct for the A. fabae infection. Variable resistance reaction of cultivars was observed depending on pathogen and growth habit. In all years, conventional as well as determinate cultivars differed significantly in resistance to A. fabae. Significant variability of resistance to B. fabae was found only in one year for the conventional types and in another year for the determinate types of faba bean. It was found that some determinate cultivars showed higher resistance to A. fabae or B. fabae than most of the conventional forms, and some conventional forms were in the group of the most susceptible cultivars.

Opis:
The historical and contemporary population genotypic structure of pea blight pathogens, A.pinodes and P.pinodella was determined on temporal and spatial scale by using vegetative incompatibility system as phenotypic genetic marker. It has been indicated that since new 1976 VCG genotypes had been introduced into contemporary population in Poland. Significantly genotypic difference was found among old historical subpopulations sampled from different pea cultivars that were grown in three regions of Poland and historical subpopulations sampled from resistance nurseries artificially infested and long – term monocultures of pea. The difference between historical and contemporary populations also was significant indicating the Occurrence of two distinct populations of A.pinodes and P.pinodella during 1975 – 2004 period...

The genotypic populations structure of Ascochyta pinodes and Phoma pinodella was de ter mined across a hierarchy of spatial and temporal scale by using vegetative in compatibility system as phenotypic genetic marker. Components of genetic variation within and be tween populations included the following values: in dices of diversity H’, richness (g), indices of evenness E1, E2 and E5, spatio-temporal analysis of genotypic variation (HT and HS val ues), pairwise comparisons of geno type diversity, distribution of VCGs across spatio-temporal scale (GST value) and analysis of variance calculated on VCGs ge no type frequencies within populations...
