    Opis:
    The article traces the formation of the oikonymic system, toponymic space and toponymic landscape, twenty-four place names of of Shchyrets povit in the Lviv Land Ruske Voivodeship over the 14th to the 15th centuries, using a systemic approach to analysis of historical Western Ukrainian oikonymy. The onset of certain derivational and semantic types of place names models are also established in the article, i.e.: *-any (Dobrzany/Dobriany, Łubiany/Liubiany), *-ovъ (Krasów/Krasiv; Kahujów/Kahuyiv; Tatarynów/Tataryniv), plural (patronymic, lineage, ethnic) names (Horbacze/Horbachi, Honiatycze/Honiatychi, Koniuszki/Koniushky, Sroki/Soroky, Czerkasy/Cherkasy, Nowosiółki/Novosilky), physiographic names (Piaski/Pisky, Ostrów/Ostriv). These names are elements of a language system (to be more precise of two intertwined systems — Ukrainian and Polish), and they were created and adapted by their speakers in accordance with the laws of the system, and genetically connected with the community that populated the area.

    Opis:
    The article is devoted to Polish deanthroponymic oikonyms created from the name Stanisław and its derivatives. The aim of the paper was to show the frequency of one of the most popular male names and its numerous derivative forms in place names, both the oldest ones, created by the end of the 16 th century, and newer ones, created later in the 18 th century, and especially in the 19 th and in the first half of the 20 th centuries. The name Stanisław was the basis of few (approx. 10) toponyms (patronymic with the suffix -ice, possessive with -j-, -ów, -owo) included in the oldest naming layer. Many more medieval oikonyms (about 30) have as their basis the derivatives of the name Stanisław (Stan/Stań, Staniek, Stańko, Stasz(o), Staś, Stanisz, Stachel, Stanięta, *Stanom(a), *Stanim(a), *Staniątek). These are possessive names with suffixes -ew, -ewo, -ów, -owo, -owa, -in, -ówka, patronymic names ending with -owice, -ewice, -ęta and plural names Stany, Staniątki. The 18 th century bestowals refer to 9 place names from the name Stanisław and about 9 from its derivatives, while approx. 70 oikonyms with a full name in the base and approx. 20 toponyms motivated by shortened form of compound name come from the 19 th and 20 th centuries. Many of names are certainly related to the cult of St. Stanislaus. Among them there are also names commemorating King Stanisław August Poniatowski and founders of settlements. Over a dozen toponyms were officially introduced after 1945 to replace German or Germanized names with Polish ones.

    У статті простежена еволюція праслов’янського номенклатурного терміна ‒ апелятива *volja ‒, який зазнав у середньовіччі (початок XIII ст. ‒ XVII ст.) подальшої онімізації, позначаючи новий тип новостворених вільних від податків поселень у польській та українській ойконімії, зокрема: польські (Wola, Wolica, Wólka), українські (Воля, Волиця, Волька) та їхні похідні. Польські та українські ойконіми із компонентами Wola // Воля впродовж усієї історії свого побутування сформували однорідні структурні типи, які збереглися донині: однослівні ойконіми; словоскладання із пре- постпозитивним ад’єктивним компонентом і пре- постпозитивним компонентом -воля (-волиця); оніми-словосполучення: 1. Adj. + Subst. (Wola, Wolica, Wólka // Воля, Волиця, Волька); 2. Subst. (Wola, Wolica, Wólka // Воля, Волиця, Волька) + Adj. Зі значеннєвого погляду в цих ойконімах простежується тип вільного поселення разом із вказівкою на його власника чи засновника, на географічне місцерозташування, на локалізацію щодо суміжних поселень, тобто наголошено на диференціюючій та локалізуючій функції цього типу онімів.  Встановлена кількість, прослідковано географічне поширення цих ойконімів у Польщі та в Україні від найдавніших фіксацій і до сьогодні. З’ясовано, що найбільша їхня кількість зосереджена на українсько-польському пограниччі: на сході Польщі (сучасне Люблінське, Підкарпатське воєводства) та заході України (сучасні Львівська, Волинська і Тернопільська області). Таким чином можна констатувати вплив культури середньовіччя на подальший розвиток мовної свідомості польського й українського народів у процесі формування ключових понять типу wola // воля та їхнього поширення в економічному, суспільно-політичному житті, що засвідчують ойконіми як обереги спільної національної культурної спадщини українсько-польського пограниччя.
    The productiveness and localization of modern place names with the component *volja that underwent further onymization in the 15th to 16th centuries was authenticated in the article. It signifies a new type of newly coined localities in Polish and Ukrainian oikonymy designating settlements that were free from taxes, in particular, Polish (Wola, Wolica, Wólka), Ukrainian (Воля (Volia), Волиця (Volytsia), Волька (Vol’ka)) and their derivatives. Polish and Ukrainian oikonyms with the components Wola ~ Воля (Volia) over the period of history of their use formed homogeneous structural types that are used today: single-word oikonyms, multiword oikonyms with pre- and postpositional adjectival components, and pre- and postpositional component -воля (-volia)/-волиця (-volytsia), multiword onyms: 1) Adj. + Subst. Wola, Wolica, Wólka ~ Воля (Volia), Волиця (Volytsia), Волька (Vol’ka); 2. Subst. Wola, Wolica, Wólka ~ Воля (Volia), Волиця (Volytsia), Волька (Vol’ka) + Adj. From the point of view of signification, these oikonyms denote a type of a free settlement indicating their owner or founder, geographical location, location in relation to neighbouring settlements, i.e. the differentiating and localising function of these types of onyms is emphasized. The number and geographical distributions of the oikonyms in Poland and Ukraine are presented. It was established that their highest number is in Lublin, Małopolskie, Podkarpackie and Mazowieckie Voivodeships (Poland) and in the west of Ukraine (Lviv, Volyn, Ternopil Oblasts). The naming tendencies of the further onymization of the appellative *volja in Ukrainian and Polish oikonymy were emphasized.
