Opis:
As regards both the material used and technology applied, and way of construction, the rural architecture of Czechoslovakia is usually divided into four districts, i.e. the areas of occurrence of the clay house, wooden house, stone house and brick house. These are subdivided into regions which, in one case, are furthe r subdivided into regional complexes. Areas, regions and regional complexes are situated within the borders of geographical divisions of Czechoslovakia. The author presents characteristic features of particular houses situated in different parts of the country. Historical monuments register contains about 600 objects of ru ra l architecture. They were grouped according to there aspects: 1) material and technology, 2) regional aspects, 3) social function. Such a division makes it possible to systematize a number of relations occurring between particular aspects.

Opis:
The organization of museum in the open air in Czechs was preceded by numerous theoretical works and operations concerning record. The effects of these activities have been collected in Stâtni Üstav pamâtkové péèe a ochrany pflrody in Praque. The next step was to work out plans of a proper preservation of historical folk architecture. This in turn was followed by a Ienghty listing of structures. Czech conception concerning preservation of monuments is based on the following asumptions: 1° preservation of historical structures in situ, 2° urban complexes in form of reservations deserve particular attention and protection, 3° single structures can be transferred to Skansen museums only on special occasions. The authoress gives general information about the chosen complexes e.g. in the Roinov village (the eldest Skansen museum), in Vesely Kopec (the complex left in situ and supplied with structures removed from the .neightbourhood) in Koufim (the Skansen museum in the process of organization), in Zechovice (the village- reservation), in Doubnava (the village-reservation) etc. To end the report the authoress points to great difficulties which arise during the processes of execution and organization while constructing Skansen museums in Czechs.

Opis:
In 1950 historical centres of 40 towns in Czechoslovakia came under protection. At the first stage of restoration works (1950—1958) close investigations of separate buildings in town-reservations were carried out, which allowed to state th a t the majority of buildings dated from the Middle Ages. Besides, almost immediately they proceeded to restoration works aimed at unification of streets and squares and creation of proper living conditions for the people living in ancient dwelling-houses. Entering upon restoration of the town-reservation of Cheb is considered to be the greatest achievement of this period. The second stage of restoration works (1958— 1965) was sta rted by enacting of the Law concerning cultural property. The Law made it possible, among others, to introduce legal changes in acknowledgment of a town as a reservation and to work out development plans for town-reservations in connection with development plans of the whole towns. At the third stage, not finished yet, the functional value of a historical centre has become decisive as to whether it should be secured or not. While designing town-reservations today the town- planning principles must be taken into account and town-reservations must be divided according to their historical value. What is more, this must be subjected to economic development of the town. Since 1975 historical monuments protection is included in one y e a r’s plans for economic development of towns. There has been prepared a plan for reconstruction of historical objects existing at the area of 35 town- -reservations. Their list with the area and the number of historical objects given is annexed at the end.
