- Poland is a country with considerable intellectual resource in the field of medical robotics. Several thousand graduates every year is different specializations of robotics, automation, and bioengineering. Many academic insert in its range of scientific studies medical robotics. 10 years of Polish medical robotics was a time of high activity and scientific research, particularly in the field of robot for surgery and rehabilitation. We hope that the time is near the first clinical application and market launch. The Robin Heart surgical telemanipulator has the potential to become a European robot widely used in many branches of surgery. The original robot and mechatronic tools successfully passed the laboratory experiments and animal studies. Thanks to developed also educational and promotional program accompanied the research work Poland can now be an attractive partner for projects in the field of medical robotics. The article discusses the developments on surgical and rehabilitation robotics in Poland.
