SAS motors - Opis:
- The motors exploited in KGHM Polska Miedz S.A. Division of Concentrator to drive mills are asynchronous SAS motors synchronized with 6kV with power range 400kW, 630kW and 1250kW at 187,5 rph as well as synchronous DC motors 6kV (former Soviet Union production) with power range 900kW, 1100kW and 1120kW at 166,6 rph. In all three processing plants there is 93 SAS motors in continuous operate. They have been produced in seventies of 20th century. This should be underlined that Division of Concentrators operates in 24/7 system al most all days a year. In production areas there is a very high humidity, dust concentration as well as chemicals vapours emission due to production process. The wet and even flood over equipment by industrial water is a real and still prezent danger. The open constructed motors supplied by middle voltage of 6kV are particularly sensitive for workplace conditions during operate. The basic problem is to provide a proper state of motors winding insulation. Division of Concentrator has made some efforts to exchange worn-out mill drive units into motors with higher energy efficiency. Unfortunately in present technical infrastructure any motors exchange is possible without expensive modernization the infrastructure. Nowadays Division of Concentrator should make decision on direction of future activity Should we continue exploitation of owned motors after their deep modernization or should we recognize the suppliers market and launch the project of exchanging motors into units of new generation?
