Opis:
This paper surveys work in geomorphology that incorporates photography to study landforms and landscape change. Since this is already a large area of study, the city centre of Oxford, UK is adopted as a case study for focus. The paper reviews broader literature pertaining to ‘photogeomorphology’ since the 1960s and delves into contemporary publications for Oxford geomorphology. Developments in the general field do not embrace close-range ground-based photography, favouring aerial photography and remote sensing. The author postulates that, as evident in the Oxford studies, that the subdiscipline should be less fixated on landscape-scale approaches and also employ close-up ground-based photography and rephotography in the assessment of landforms and landscape change. This broader scale of application could benefit the study of stone soiling and decay (weathering) studies as smaller forms may be overlooked.

Opis:
Several kinds of methodologies and techniques have been used indeed in order to monitor rill and gully erosion processes. In this paper authors provide a guidance regarding the available aerial photographs and orthophotographs for rill and gully erosion studies in Spain and covering the whole country. A set of 8 different series of aerial photographs and orthophotographs were located in Spain. Their characteristics were quite diverse, differing in scales, formats and resolution. Most of the photographs and orthophotographs proved, at least, to be suitable for their use in studies of permanent gullies, allowing the monitoring of medium and long-term erosion rates since 1945.

Opis:
In the present paper, 8 aerial orthophotographs were used for analysing the evolution of a valley bottom gully and its relationship with land use and vegetation cover in SW Spain. In addition, the growth model observed was compared with the literature. Results showed an increase in the area affected by gullying during the period by 314 m2 and a clear relationship between the areas affected by gullying and land use intensity was found.

This paper concerns the application of remote sensing and the Geographic Information System (GIS) to the identification of standing water bodies during floods and the differentiation of landforms in flooded areas. The methodology was applied to the flood plain of the Morava, south of the vilage Vysoka pri Morave, Slovakia, with 2002  respect to the August 1985 flood.
