- The article presents the Czech laboratory-theatre Farma v jeskyni (Farm in the Cave) and its last performance, entitled The Theatre. It simultaneously addresses the anthropological inspirations influencing the form and subject of the performance: particularly two expeditions to Brazil during which the group came in contact with Afro-Brazilian culture, its theatrical forms, dance and musical motifs. Through a description of certain scenes of the play, the set design, the props and the stage action, the author shows these inspirations within the closed material of the artistic work. She considers the transposed significance of the utilised motifs, the function of the theatre in theatre, the role of the spectator and the actor-slave parallel.
