Opis:: The paper presents new method of integration home digital network with Bluetooth wireless communication system. In this new application Bluetooth is used as one of the main ways of communication and information exchange between elements of the system for integrated, centralized control of the digital devices in the multimedia home platform. Bluetooth enables communication between multimedia gateway with the HTTP server inside and personal communication assistants (PCA), special kind of the remote control. The aim of the system is centralization of services in the multimedia gateway and integration of different services using only one control device.

Opis:: In this paper a new idea of digital images fingerprinting is proposed. The method is based on quaternion encryption in the Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) mode. Quaternions are hyper-complex numbers of rank 4 and thus often applied to mechanics in three-dimensional space. The encryption algorithm described in the paper is designed for graytone images but can easily be adopted for color ones. For the encryption purpose, the algorithm uses the rotation of data vectors presented as quaternions in a three-dimensional space around another quaternion (key). On the receiver's side, a small amount of unnoticeable by human eye errors occurs in the decrypted images. These errors are used as a user's digital figerprint for the purpose of traitor tracing in case of copyright violation. A computer-based simulation was performed to scrutinize the potential presented quaternion encryption scheme for the implementation of digital fingerprinting. The obtained results are shown at the end of this paper.

Opis:: In the paper, we present the results of research of MPEG-2 streams transmission through CBR and VBR channel in ATM network. We applied not only experimental and measurement methods but analytical ones as well. A description of the proposed measurement station includes: installed hardware, created software and prepared experimental data. Next, we present the applied measurement method. In the following section, we define a term of the quality of multimedia transmission. The measurement results were compared with the results of the analytical station model. We proposed a functional description of dependence between ATM traffic parameters, video stream bit rate, and quality of multimedia transmission.

Opis:: In this paper Quaternion Feistel Cipher (QFC) with an infinite key space based on quaternion Julia sets is proposed. The basic structure of the algorithm is based on the scheme proposed in 2012 by Sastry and Kumar. The proposed algorithm uses special properties of quaternions to perform rotations of data sequences in 3D space for each of the cipher rounds. It also uses Julia sets to form an infinite key space. The plaintext is divided into two square matrices of equal size and written using Lipschitz quaternions. A modular arithmetic was implemented for operations with quaternions. A computer-based analysis has been carried out and obtained results are shown at the end of this paper.

Opis:: This paper analyses the consistency of a set of MPEG-7 low level audio descriptors when the input audio stream has previously been compressed with a lossy compression algorithm. The analysis results show that lossy compression has a detrimental effect on the integrity of practical search and retrieval schemes that utilize the low level audio descriptors. Methods are then proposed to reduce the detrimental effects of compression in searching schemes. These proposed methods include improved searches, switched adaptive scalar and vector prediction, and other prediction schemes based on machine learning principles. Of the proposed schemes the results indicate that searching which incorporates previous and future frames combined with machine learning based prediction best nullifies the effects of compression. However, future scope is identified to further improve the reliability of the MPEG-7 audio descriptors in practical search environments.

Opis:: Video sharing services like YouTube have become very popular which consequently results in a drastic shift of the Internet traffic statistic. When transmitting video content over packet based networks, stringent quality of service (QoS) constraints must be met in order to provide the comparable level of quality to a traditional broadcast television. However, the packet transmission is influenced by delays and losses of data packets which can have devastating influence on the perceived quality of the video. Therefore, we conducted an experimental evaluation of HTTP based video transmission focusing on how they react to packet delay and loss. Through this analysis we investigated how long video playback is stalled and how often re-buffering events take place. Our analysis revealed threshold levels for the packet delay, packet losses and network throughput which should not be exceeded in order to preserve smooth video transmission.
