Opis:
Stackelberg games are non-symmetric games where one player or specified group of players have the privilege position and make decision before the other players. Such games are used in telecommunication and computational systems for supporting administrative decisions. Recently Stackleberg games became useful also in the systems where security issues are the crucial decision criteria. In this paper authors briefly survey the most popular Stackelberg security game models and provide the analysis of the model properties illustrated in the realistic use cases.

Opis:
Task scheduling and resource allocation are the key issues for computational grids. Distributed resources usually work at different autonomous domains with their own access and security policies that impact successful job executions across the domain boundaries. In this paper we present a security-aware grid simulator Secure-Sim-G, which facilitates the evaluation of the different scheduling heuristics under various scheduling criteria in several grid scenarios defined by the security conditions, grid size and system dynamics. The simulator allows the flexible activation or inactivation of all of the scheduling criteria and modules, which makes the application well adapted to the proper illustration of the different realistic scenarios and avoids the possible restriction to the specific scheduling resolution methods. The simulation results and traces may be graphically represented and stored at the server and can retrieved in different formats such as spreadsheets or pdf files.

Opis:
The paper presents a compact broadband rat-race coupler for the first time designed and realized in a mul- tilayer microstrip technology. To achieve both broad operational bandwidth and a compact size the 270? transmission line of a conventional rat-race, coupler has been replaced by a -90? left-handed transmission line realized with the use of a quasi-lumped element technique. Moreover, to achieve better compactness of the resulting coupler, all 90? right-handed transmission lines have been realized with the use of the same technique. It has been also proved that simple LC approximation of a left-handed transmission line can be successfully used for the design. Moreover, it has been shown that when appropriately chosen, the multilayer dielectric structure allows for realization of structures designed with the use of this simple approximation, for both right-handed and left-handed transmission lines, without loosing too much of a performance.

Opis:
This paper presents an overview of techniques developed to improve energy efficiency of grid and cloud computing. Power consumption models and energy usage proles are presented together with energy efficiency measuring methods. Modeling of computing dynamics is discussed from the viewpoint of system identication theory, indicating basic experiment design problems and challenges. Novel approaches to cluster and network-wide energy usage optimization are surveyed, including multi-level power and software control systems, energy-aware task scheduling, resource allocation algorithms and frameworks for backbone networks management. Software-development techniques and tools are also presented as a new promising way to reduce power consumption at the computing node level. Finally, energy-aware control mechanisms are presented. In addition, this paper introduces the example of batch scheduler based on ETC matrix approach.
