Opis:
The cutaneous recording of gastric myoelectrical activity of the stomach known as electrogastrography (EGG) seems to be the promising tool for the non-invasive assessment of gastric motility. Unfortunately the EGG recording is usually severely contaminated both by motion artefacts and endogenous biological noise source. In order to use EGG signals as reliable diagnostic tool it is necessity to look for the effective artefacts removal methods. In this paper Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) was applied for detection motion artefacts from the EGG data. The set of own mother wavelets extracted directly from EGG signal was created and applied for detecting motion artefacts from one channel EGG recording. The results was compared with the effects obtained by using standard mother wavelets. The proposed method based on CWT with own mother wavelet presents very good performance for detecting motion artefacts from the EGG data.

Opis:
Monitoring vital signals is one of the most important tasks performed by the medical equipment nowadays. One of the most frequently applied monitoring types is the pulse oximetry, based on monitoring of arterial oxygen saturation. The design presented in this paper is a modular construction. One of the most important improvements is the application of the embedded PC module in the design of a pulse oximeter. The modular PC is using open source software. The system presented in this paper uses digital detector technology and the input pulse oximeter module developed by the Dolphin Medical. One of the main aims of the research team was to create a design capable of monitoring both vital signals of adults and newborns, to make the device suitable for pediatric and neonatologic wards. Performed tests and examinations for system stability as well as the comparision with other similar devices available on the market confirmed that the presented device design is an optimal solution for the described class of devices. By using the PC module the scalability of the system seriously increases comparing to other designs. The separation of the data acquisition part of the device and the analytical part of the device in the form of a personal computer module makes the device more alike medical computer system than the traditional pulse oximeter responsible only for visualiasation of the read data.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to investigate the possibility of combining two methods: Independent Component Analysis (ICA) and Adaptive Signal Enhancement for the improvement of normogastric rhythm extraction from multichannel recording of electrogastrographic signals (EGG). Unfortunately the electrogastrogram, is a transcutaneous measurement of gastric electrical activity, does not contain pure signal but usually is a sort of mixture from both electrical activity of stomach as well as other organs surrounding it and random noise. In order to benefit the diagnostic power of multichannel recording of EGG, which can provide deeper understanding of gastric disorders, it is necessity to extract gastric slow wave in each channel. One of the parameters, which are analyzed and require proper registration is so called normogastric rhythm. According to the literature, the normogastric rhythm should cover around 70% of rhythmic behavior of signal for a healthy man. Proper extraction of basic 3-cpm normogastric rhythm in each channel is a subject of this paper. Independent Component Analysis is applied for extracting the reference signal for adaptive filtering what next result in obtaining less contaminated signal in each channel. Analysis has been perform for two postprandial phases with five minutes break between them. In both mention cases proposed procedure gives a promising results.

Opis:
Telemedical system for fetal home monitoring with smart selection of signal analysis algorithms is presented in this paper. Fetal monitoring signals are provided by a mobile instrumentation consisting of bioelectrical signal recorder and tablet PC which retrieves and processes the data as well as provides wireless data transmission based on Internet. The fetal surveillance system enables analysis, dynamic presentation and archiving of acquired signals and medical data. Novelty of the proposed approach relies on smart fitting of the algorithms for analysis of the abdominal signals in mobile instrumentation, as well as on controlling of the fetal monitoring session from the surveillance center. These actions are performed automatically through continuous analyzing of the signal quality and the reliability of the quantitative parameters determined for the acquired signals. Using that approach the amount and content of data transmitted through remote channels to the surveillance center can be controlled to ensure the most reliable assessment of the fetal well-being.

The aim of this study is the processing and evaluating of plethysmographical records giving important information about the blood vessel function. Result of this study is to present the methodology for classifying the records by means of mathematical methods that would contribute to systematic evaluation of what has been found by finger plethysmography. Thereafter the experimental expert system based on framework systems serves to determine the diagnosis on the basis of previous mathematical processing is introduced. The goal of the project was also creation of application by the form of the extension of kernel for the use of framework that is determined for support of control and information systems development in the area of signal processing, elaborate and describe the methodology of extension hereof setting in the nature of specific applications. Beyond above-mentioned outputs the solution of the project should give the specific knowledge about the usage effectiveness of evolutional frameworks. Fundamental implementation idea is based on the usage of MATLAB as the basis for extension of common kernel.
