Opis:
The main goal of the work is development of the multiscale numerical model of the incremental forming process for manufacturing integral elements applicable in the aerospace industry. Description of the proposed incremental forming concept based on division of large die into a series of small anvils pressed into the material by a moving roll is presented. A complex multi scale numerical model of mentioned incremental forging process based on the digital material representation (DMR) concept was developed and is also described within the paper. Finally, obtained results in the form of strain distribution are presented and compared with the outcome from conventional forging at the macro and micro scale, respectively.

Opis:
The main goal of the paper is dedicated to proper arrangement of the Finite Element (FE) and Random Cellular Automata (RCA) methods in order to develop numerical model of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) and therefore to simulate microstructure morphology changes during plastic deformation at elevated temperatures. In the approach, Finite Element solver provides information on equivalent stress and strain fields after subsequent time steps. Then these data are transferred to RCA model, which is responsible for evaluation of corresponding microstructure morphology evolution and dislocation density changes. Finally, information from the CA part is send back to the FE solver as an input for the next time step. As a result, a fully coupled RCAFE model to simulate progress of DRX is established. The present paper is directly focused on development of algorithms and methods to transfer input/output data between both FE and RCA models. The developed communication protocol is based on the Abaqus VUMAT subroutine. Examples of obtained results from the developed model are also presented to highlight its potential.

Opis:
A review of various bulk metal forming processes that take into account influence of strain path changes on material flow is presented in this paper. Particular attention is put on computer aided design of innovative angular accumulative drawing (AAD) operation. Research in the area of development of metal forming processes taken advantage of strain path phenomena is conducted in many scientific laboratories as the strain patch change effect influences many crucial properties of the deformed material. As a result it provides a possibility of forming materials, which are e.g. difficult to form in a conventional manner. Advantages and limitations of the AAD process are summarized and presented in this work. Difficulties in development of the complex rheological model that takes in to account strain path changes in the deformed material are also presented and discussed.

Opis:
The phase transformation model incorporated via the user subroutines to the commercial finite element software to accurately predict changes occurring during cooling of metallic components is presented in the paper. The cooling process of steel rings used in airplanes was selected as a case study. Particular attention was put on heterogeneities occurring in temperature field, which influence phase transformations and eventually residual stresses. Developed model was used in the present work to evaluate influence of different cooling conditions on ring behaviour.

Opis:
Recent development in the field of numerical modelling of innovative manufacturing processes, in which nanolayered materials can be produced, is presented in the paper. Combination of the Angular Accumulative Drawing, continuous wire drawing and wire flattening were used to produce thin nanolayers that will be used for subsequent production of nanolayered metal strips using Accumulative Roll Bonding process. Proposed methodology combines microstructural aspects of deformation such as strain-induced precipitation processes and development of dislocation substructures. Additionally, multiscale modelling approach based on the 3D Digital Materials Representation was utilized to support experimental research and to investigate inhomogeneous material behaviour during deformation. Proposed methodology provides a possibility of forming materials, which are e.g. difficult to form in a conventional manner. Advantages and limitations of the proposed model are summarized and discussed with respect to its potential application to precipitation strengthened bcc nanolayered materials.

Opis:
The main aim of presented work was the commencing the tests and analysis of the DLC type a:C:H coatings obtained with PACVD technique on the elements from Co-Cr-Mo alloys., among others: monitoring of structure changes, hardness measurement, estimation of the surface geometrical structure and tribologic tests. The analysis of surface structure and its elementary composition were estimated with the application of scanning SEM microscope, as well as TEM transmission microscope. The hardness of the elements with and without the coating was measured with the Matsuzawa micro hardness testing tester. Tribologic test of materials wear resistance was done with using T-01M apparatus ball-on-disc type, within a set of Al2O3 ball - disk from Co-Cr-Mo alloys with DLC coating, in technologically dry friction condition as well as with Ringer solution lubrication. Friction tests were conducted with using tester T-17, working in association: polymer pin made of high-molecular polyethylene PE - UHMW - plate from Co-Cr-Mo alloys with DLC coating with Ringer solution lubrication. The results obtained during mentioned above tests showed that the application of DLC coatings greatly enhances the operating features of the coated surfaces.
