Opis:
In this study authors solve the fundamental set of equations of the hydrodynamic theory of lubrication, namely are: the continuity equation, conservation of momentum and conservation of energy for the case of stationary slide bearings lubrication with a thixotropic lubricant. Adoption of assumption of steady flow loads in the considered phenomenon to the changes absence of the flow parameters in a short time period i.e. in one hour. In the constitutive equation is assumed that the stress tensor is a function of strain tensor, dynamic viscosity of oil and hydrodynamic pressure. Dynamic viscosity decreases in a long period of time of workf. ex. after 10 000 by 20 000 kilometres. In a thin layer of oil film, density and thermal conductivity was assumed to be constant. Authors define the lubricant's dynamic viscosity as a product of viscosity changes in temperature, pressure and time eta = eta(T).eta(p).eta(t). In the analysis of hydrodynamic lubrication, Authors consider a Journal bearing of finite length, with the smooth sleeve with a full circumferential angle. Fundamental equations are written in dimensionless form and estimated according to the theory of a thin boundary layer. Prepared in this way equations of motion can be solved by various methods. Authors propose to solve the motion equations with a method of small parameter. The small parameter method we define the unknown functions in a form of uniformly convergent power series expanded in the neighbourhood of the small parameters. In most used cases, absolute value of the small parameter is less than unity. These functions are substituted into simultaneous fundamental equations, then the series are multiplied using Cauchy's method. Comparing coefficients with the same exponents of small parameter, simultaneous set of differential equation is acquired, from which next approximations of unknown functions are appointed. With so obtained equations, the equation that allows assigning hydrodynamic pressure and hydrodynamic pressure corrections resulting from taking into account the impact of pressure, temperature and ageing in viscosity changes of the lubricant successively can be assigned.

Opis:
In this paper, authors are presenting conclusions of the numerical calculations of pressure distribution and capacity in a slider bearing with taking changes of oil viscosity in exploitation time into account. Changes of the engine oil’s viscosity, which depend on the exploitation time, were determined on Haake Mars III rheometer and the conclusions were published in Solid State Phenomena and Logistyka in 2015. Numerical calculations were performed by solving of Reynolds equation, using finite difference method and own calculation procedures in Mathcad 15. Reynolds equation was developed by solving the continuity equation and the momentum conservation equation from the fundamentals. For the considerations, the laminar and stationary lubricating of the slider bearing of finite length and full angle of wrap were taken. Assumption of the stationary flow concerns lack of changes in flow parameters in short period of considered phenomena, f. ex. in one hour. Smooth and non-porous bushing were assumed. The aim of this paper was preliminary estimation of influence of viscosity changes in the exploitation time on the load carrying capacities of the cross slider bearing. Wherefore, the viscosity changes dependence on the pressure, temperature and also shear rate, were not taken into account. The basic equations were developed to the non-dimensional form and estimated according to the thin layer theory. In the calculations, the Reynolds boundary conditions concerning pressure distribution were taken into account. Preliminary calculations were performed for different models of viscosity changes in time and circumstances, where the viscosity increases and decreases in exploitation time.

Opis:
In this paper author presents results of numerical calculations of hydrodynamic pressure distribution in bearing gap, load-carrying capacity, friction force and friction coefficient of slide micro-bearing considering the influence of lubricating oil temperature changes and also taking into account the influence of micro-grooves, which occur on sleeve internal surface. The micro-grooves on that surface are in longitudinal direction. The equation, which describes a bearing gap with micro-grooves on sleeve surface, was adopted from prof. K Wierzcholski's investigations. In very thin gap height of cylindrical micro-bearings, large gradients of temperature can be observed. This causes significant changes of oil dynamic viscosity in the gap height direction. According to this, oil flow velocity, friction forces, and a hydrodynamic pressure during the micro-bearing operation are changing. Up to now the influence of temperature on oil viscosity changes and due to this, on hydrodynamic pressure and on load carrying capacity in cylindrical micro-bearing gap in numerical way were not considered yet. The numerical calculations were performed with the use of Mathcad 14. The finite differences method and own computational procedures were implemented. The calculations were begun by solving the Reynolds' equation, assuming, that the dynamic viscosity is constant. After calculating the hydrodynamic pressure distribution, the temperature distribution in lubricating oil was determined. The obtained function of temperature was used to describe the viscosity changes with temperature. Next step involved determining the hydrodynamic pressure distribution taking into account the viscosity dependence on temperature, and then new distribution of temperature and again new values of viscosity were calculated. Calculations were repeated until assumed convergence and accuracy were reached. The friction force depends on pressure gradient and rotational motion of bearing journal. Part of friction force, which resulting from the pressure gradient, is determined for the area, where the oil film occurs, i.e. from omega p to omega k. Part of friction force, which is related to journal motion, is determined for full wrap angle, i.e. from 0 to 2 pi. The results were presented in the form of graphs, for eccentricity ratio gamma from 0.1 to 0.9, for dimensionless length of the bearing L1=1/4. In numerical calculations were used the theoretical considerations and solutions presented in papers of K. Wierzcholski and A. Miszczak.

liquid viscosity changes in thin gap height direction

adhesion or capillary forces variations in thin gap height direction new analytical solutions
Opis:
Numerous Authors of scientific papers occurring in hydrodynamic theory of slide bearing lubrication, up to now almost always had neglected the oil dynamic viscosity variations caused by temperature, adhesion forces, capillary forces, or hydrogen ion concentration across the film thickness by virtue of the statement of the constant temperature as well constant adhesion as capillary forces in the thin bearing gap height direction. In addition, simultaneously by virtue of boundary layer simplifications for energy equation and by virtue of new measurements performed in micro and nano- level follows that oil temperature gradients and its values differences and adhesion or capillary gradients of forces in bearing gap height directions are not negligible small. The contemporary hydrodynamic theory of lubrication for non-isothermal lubricant flow is unfortunately based on the assumption of constant viscosity values across the film thickness, despite abovementioned self-evident contradiction between the fact of constant viscosity and simultaneously temperature variations in gap height direction. Such problem was up to now not sufficient critical examined and explained in practical and theoretical sense. After Authors, knowledge by virtue of above problem the most scientific papers in the domain of non-isothermal and lamellar hydrodynamic slide bearing or biobearing lubrication were up to now not sufficient correctly solved. It denotes that the main hydrodynamic lubrication solutions presenting for example hydrodynamic pressure by the modified Reynolds equation and temperature by the energy conservation equation are not sufficiently correctly obtained and next not correctly solved. Therefore are assumed simultaneously the temperature T and oil dynamic viscosity variations in length, width and bearing gap- height directions. From this assumption follows, that the energy equation must be solved simultaneously with the equations of motion i.e. consequently with pressure equation where viscosity depends on temperature and temperature depends on the coordinate in gap height direction.

Opis:
There is presented an effect of the changes of the concentration of magnetic particles included in the ferro-oil on its dynamic viscosity in the presence of external magnetic field in this paper. The study was conducted in the context of temperature’s changes. The authors assume that the concentration of magnetic particles in ferro-oil can significantly affects its basic physical properties as dynamic viscosity, as well as the operational properties of journal sliding bearings ferro-oil’s lubricated. The equally significant as the above mentioned properties may affect the external environmental conditions of operation, especially temperature changes. In this context, an important technique’s issue appears to determine the principles of selection of optimal concentration of above mentioned particles according to the existing environmental conditions of its operation, or the expectations laid against the operation of the devices. Rheological studies were carried out on Physica MCR 301 rheometer in the “plate-to-plate” measurement system with an adapter to magneto-rheological studies MRD 180/1T. Thermal stabilization was carried out by a water jacket in a closed chamber and controlling the nature of the magnetic field was conducted by current’s changes. Tests were performed for four selected temperature range of 60º, 70º, 80º and 90ºC as regards changes an external magnetic field intensity 0-700 mT. The selected concentrations of magnetic particles in a ferro-oil were 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8%.
