Opis:: The maintenance of helicopters at the airports of the Polish Armed Forces in the state of technical efficiency determines the possession – by the entity securing their maintenance, repair – of appropriate resources and the maintenance system. The article presents the current state of the operation processes of helicopters in the Polish Army. The characteristics of the helicopter maintenance system model and the basic assumptions were described, and the mathematical records of input data to the system were identified and presented. The selected elements of the optimisation task, its decision variables, and constraints were formulated. The initial assessment of the quality of the proposed solution of the helicopter maintenance system model. The essence of the system optimisation problem, which relates to minimising the cost function and maximising the system’s readiness function, was emphasised. In addition, an example of appropriateness of applying such an approach is presented on the basis of the School Aviation Base. The article was concluded with a short summary, which stressed the importance of this type of the optimisation system.

Opis:: An appropriate solving the transport organization in agriculture requires, among others, to work out the method for transportation means work organization. Issues associated with transportation means work organization is impossible to be optimally solved by a controller in the case of developed transport network, instead they require computational techniques for fast information processing. One of such methods is presented in the paper as a system for sugar--beet transport to sugar works. In sugar industry, large amounts of raw material are transported between sugar-beet producers or storage centers and processing works. Presented program makes possible to select transportation means for carrying the sugar-beet, and then working out the schedule of routes realized by vehicles. The paper presents the management system of sugar-beet transporting to the sugar works that optimizes the transportation means work. Minimization of courses length, because it directly affects the reduction of transportation costs by means of decrease of fuel and other exploitation parts used, shortening the driver's work-time, and decrease of fees for vehicle rental. The system was verified using real data for a given day, which confirmed the correctness of the software functioning. Working out and launching the software required to write databases containing necessary information on: sites the material was received from, amount of transported loads, transportation means, loading/reloading machines and devices along with their technical and exploitation parameters, as well as the project required to draw digital map with all analyzed purchase centers, sugar works, and all the road network. Minimization of routes was accepted as a purpose function, because it directly affects the reduction of transport costs through reducing the fuel and other exploitation means used, shortening the driver's work time or decreasing the fees for vehicle rental. The system was verified using real data for a particular date, which confirmed the correctness of the software functioning. Activity aiming at reducing production costs through elimination of unnecessary expenditures resulting from bad work organization would contribute to the improvement of competitiveness of Polish agriculture and enhancing its opportunities on EU markets. Proposed system for sugar-beet transport management at Sugar Works is an example of the system meeting such expectations.

Opis:: Works upon computer systems for agricultural goods transport management require, among others, an appropriate preparing the data on transportation network within transport optimization system. Such transportation network is very complicated and contains a variety of detailed information on purchase centres, to which cereals are supplied by farmers; stores, to which purchased cereal is transported; and transportation means that take part in a transport of purchased cereals. Since 80's decade of the 20th century, works upon the optimization of agricultural goods transport process have been performed at The Department of Agricultural Machines and Devices, University of Life Sciences in Lublin. That time, many transportation systems based on various optimization methods were worked out. Particular versions were written in different programming languages, subsequent versions of data processing procedures were worked out and different methods (more and more advanced) for computer map of the area were applied. All data referring to centres the goods are received from, and supplied to, upon the transportation means should be entered into the database in such a way that the software could use them during calculations. The software perfectly facilitates the process of data input. In a simple and clear way, it ensures the accessibility to particular files as well as movements among them. Its role is to generate files used subsequently to calculations in optimization software.

Opis:: The analysis of results of experimental tests and a literature survey of the issue reveal that the subject matter connected with determination of the optimal number of a given transportation system operation assessment criteria has a direct influence on the result of the considered assessment. The analysis was made within the research on operation quality of a selected transportation system. In order to optimize the analysed system assessment criteria, a theoretical description has been made and an example of canonical correlations application has been presented. Analysis of canonical correlations involves determination of linear combination parameters of the studied sets so that the obtained correlation coefficient will have maximal value. In the successive step, the next pair of linear combination are not correlated with the combinations determined in the first step. The determined correlations can measure the power of relation between two sets of variables and are useful in the process of choosing significant criteria for a given research object operation quality assessment.

Opis:: The analysis of results of experimental tests and a literature survey on the issue reveal that the subject matter connected with determination of the optimal number of a given transportation system operation assessment criteria has a direct influence on the result of the considered assessment. Whole study has been made on the basis of the analysis of data obtained from tests performed in a real municipal transportation system, providing transport tasks in a 400 thousand urban agglomeration. On the basis of the tests, there was determined a set of sixteen criteria for the system operation assessment, depending on preferences of drivers, passengers, workers of the system providing vehicles with serviceability and the last group of results is a final assessment. The research involved tests of significance for correlation coefficients between the assessment criteria. The method of main factors involving analysis of a linear transformation of existing vector of variables X into Y has been used to study the task dimensioning. Proper values, providing basis for determination of a new space correspond to coordinates of the newly created vector Y. On this basis, the dimension of the criteria and their significance space has been concluded. The determined criteria have been accepted for the development of a resultant model for assessment of a transportation system operation quality.

Opis:: Modelling and simulation investigations of a car non-linear dynamics with regard to freeplay (backlash in steering gear) and friction (kinetic and static friction in king-pins) is always a challenge for researchers. Fortunately, by special luz(...) and tar(...) projections and their mathematical apparatus the elaborated models and simulation procedures of stick-slip phenomena in a steering system are managed in efficient forms (without any entangle constraints) even for optimization and sensitivity studies. Exactly, the presented studies deal with problems of sensitivity of optimized maneuvers for vehicle models considering freeplay / friction effects. Double lane change maneuvers (overtaking and avoiding) are discussed. A criterion function refers to several evaluations (precision of maneuver, calm steering, feeling of comfortable travel). The optimization of steering wheel angle signal is done on a reference model with "nominal" freeplay and friction parameters. Such input signal is applied to a "real" vehicle having "real" freeplay and friction parameters. The differences of output signals as well as differences between criterion function values are a subject of sensitivity analysis. The sensitivity of reference models on a variation of freeplay and friction parameters appears as important from theoretical as well as practical points of view. The paper takes up the problems of sensitivity analysis of steering system model applied for synthesis steering algorithms for a double lane change maneuver.
