Opis:
Earlier researches have proven that sliding bearings cooperating with different surface layers of s have shown different wear. There is also a difference between cooperation characteristics, which can be measured with help of different electric potential (GRP) in sliding couple. Analyzing changes in characteristics of generated potential difference effective value u s-grp during operation allows to estimate time Tg since the beginning until to forming of oil wedge shows up and estimate time Ts — says about stabilization tribological processes infrictional contact (running-in process was finished). This work will present the investigations results of s surface layer structure influence on the size of wearing of cooperating bearing and the characteristics of this cooperation. It has been proven, that there is a definite impact of a phase structure; with a good probability it became clear that grain size and placement and size of different phases also provided some impact on cooperation of pivots and bearings. Considering pivots covered with clear metallic coating, there have been proven impact of the type of metallic coating, macrostructure (density of crack mesh) have also been proven to be very influential.

Opis:
In earlier investigations it found that in lubricated sliding couples is generated electrical potential difference (GPD). The sensitivity of this tribological index and information quantity contained in it far exceeds than previously used (classical) indicators, like coefficient of friction or temperature. Previous investigations do not allow to draw generalizing conclusions, how the force of the tribological parameters affect the GPD signal value. Selected materials of samples and counter-sample were grouped in pairs, forming various combinations I - the same name materials couple, in which the sample and counter-sample were made of the same material; II - the various name materials couple, in change places pairs, in which the two different materials interchangeably in one case are the samples and the second - counter-samples; III - the various name materials couple, in change places pairs, in which the sample from one material was mated with counter-samples from different materials. The testing materials were selected associations represented by a series of metal lying in the Volta electropotential (galvanic) series, both relatively close to each other, as well as a considerable distance and some of the same metal alloys. In presented investigations it was state that there was no clear relationship between the recorded GPD signal effective potential value and the values of the electropotential (galvanic) series. The GPD signal value is individual feature of the each couple and depends on the type of construction materials each pairs of elements forming the each couple. The GPD signal value is lower for the same name materials couple, in which the sample and counter-sample were made of the same material, than for various materials couple. It was found that in the various name materials couple, in which the two different materials interchangeably in one case are the samples and the second - counter-samples, GPD signal value is different.

Opis:
The elements creating a friction pairs are described to be very difficult in terms of defining all optimal parameters in an unequivocal way. The research on stability of friction pairs is focused on the surface and the top layer of surface in the parts concerned. The main goal is to find new design solutions and materials, thereby achieving one million kilometers of mileage to main repair in the case of internal combustion engines. The biggest structural difficulties are noticeable in friction pairs where it can be observed sliding and returning motion, which is also connected with sealing function. A typical example of such pair is piston ring – cylinder sleeve in piston – rings - cylinder unit in an internal combustion engine. Engineers are currently seeking an additional factor, which would enable gaining the reduction of tangential force by reducing the friction coefficient in elements of friction pair during operations. The surface free energy may be such factor - it results from molecular structure and nature of the bonds between the molecules present in the material. Components of surface free energy determine the tribological properties of the material, which is reflected in the stability of the units. Energy state of the surface, which is connected with chemistry and characteristics in the material, is the first step to consider about the impact on wearing in internal combustion engine. This is the main topic of this article.
