In this paper the mathematical model of combat vehicle as well as mathematical models of input function generated by the cannon during firing and terrain unevenness was presented. This model enables the analysis of dynamic loads of the equipment mounted inside combat vehicle as well as analysis of dynamic loads of the crew. Parameters of the impulse forces acting on the vehicle during firing were determined on the theoretical basics of internal ballistic of cannon. The results of calculation were presented for hypothetical basic combat vehicle with a 125 mm and 73 mm calibre smoothbore gun. Firing during short stops and during combat vehicle motion at different speeds on terrain unevenness as well as angle of elevation of the gun barrel and rotation angle of the turret on the level of dynamic load were considered. A part of this paper was presented at the RTO AVT Symposium on "Functional and Mechanical Integration of Weapons and Land and Air Vehicles".

The paper describes dynamic load-generating sources and their effects on high-speed tracked vehicles, placed people and equipment within it. The variety of the operation conditions causes a complex dynamic load, both in terms of level, direction and distribution. The effects of the impacts are shown in photographs. It is important to know the level of loads in terms of the development of resistant and safe high-speed tracked vehicles. The selected results of its own researches of high-speed tracked vehicles were presented. research were carried out under conditions similar to those typical for this class of vehicles, both during the rides on the road, the ground and obstacles on the specially constructed for this purpose. The results of research and analysis compare in the form of graphs and the estimated value. The presented scope and methodology allows the multi-variants investigation and estimate the loads of the hall, interior fittings and people in special vehicles and other objects that may be exposed to this type of loads. The presented results of the study confirm the possibility but also the need to load test and analysis of dynamic loads on the vehicle, its crew and equipment within it. Knowing the value of these loads allows for the rational formation of the vehicle structure for obtaining the highest possible technical and combat duration.

Since the beginning of the 90’s, a scientific team in the Motor Vehicle and Transport Institute of the Mechanical Department in the Military University of Technology, has been involved in the model and experimental tests of the existing structures of the military vehicles (tanks, combat infantry vehicles and wheeled armoured carriers) in the aspect of their modernization. A part of works is related to the military vehicles included in the army’s equipment and the other parts are related to newly designed vehicles. In both cases issues related to the behaviour of selected assemblies and the whole vehicle, structure during threats posed by the reality of contemporary battlefield or armed symmetric or asymmetric conflicts are analysed. Selected effects of the tests and analyses will be presented mostly within the qualitative scope due to the data sensitivity. Contemporary design of military vehicles requires involvement of various research methods and specialized calculation software. The results obtained during performed various experimental tests make a valuable basis for verification of numerical models used in design process and multi-option simulation calculations.

The paper describes the operating conditions of multi-axial special vehicles presents the tasks and risks during the so-called peacekeeping and stabilization mission. Given are described risks of travel on the roads and unpaved roads, in towns and hilly terrain. To be able to carry out driving in difficult conditions, the main components of fighting vehicles must have a high reliability. This also applies to the burden of combat. The paper presents a method to assess the condition of the suspension, consequently, its influence on dynamic loads on the crew and the internal equipment of the vehicle, presents a mathematical model of the vehicle similar to the multi-axis wheeled armoured personnel carrier. Describes the numerical model developed on the basis of it. It concerns on performed research for the most common cases. Are examples of the results of numerical estimates of the impact on the failure of the suspension, including damage to the wheels and suspension components, on the level of dynamic loads acting on the vehicle, its equipment and people stay in it. The model vehicle is a versatile tool for analyzing the dynamics of different types of vehicles, including tracked combat vehicles and multiaxial vehicles.

The results of the experimental research on the influence of the special vehicle movement conditions on the body shell and the vehicle crew dynamic load will be presented in the paper. ROSOMAK Wheeled Armoured Personnel Carrier (Wheeled APC), the basic version, was the subject of the research. The research work was aimed at analysis of the dynamic loads resulting from the deterministic inputs and driving on the selected types of surfaces generating random kinematic inputs. The personnel carrier service conditions, measuring apparatus, and testing methods will be described. The vertical accelerations of the selected points of the vehicle, and deflection of the prime and second suspension of the vehicle left side were measured. The time and the acceleration RMS value spectrum charts for the selected implementations will be presented. The cumulative statistics will be shown in the form of a table. The conclusions regarding the influence of the road surface on the personnel carrier driver's working comfort will be formulated. The assessment of the suspension quality will be included in the conclusions. Driving on the smooth surface is comfortable. However, the road surface worsening causes decreased proficiency sense until the exposure limit boundary is reached when the vehicle drives on a poor quality cobble road with 50 km/h speed. The vehicle basic version is not fitted with the seats for assault troops, therefore the influence of the road irregularities on the centre of mass of the body shell, and the driver's and commander's seats were determined. It is recommended to make further tests on the personnel carrier combat and special versions.

The objective has been stated to investigate the capability of materials and structures to with stand to impact loading. Computerized research complex has been developed and manufactured to carry out experiments on impact interaction of specimen with an accelerated to a certain velocity piercer. The complex includes ,,GANCHEN"-type thermogas ballistic gun for piercer accelerating, piercer velocimeter, ballistic pendulum for measurement of integral energy datum of piercer-specimen interaction, and ,,ODD" device for measurement of residual deformation of the specimen. The experiment progress control, gaging equipment sensor signal processing and obtained information data storage are accomplished at researches. The elaborated system and research techniques permit carrying out a series of comparative check tests of specimens of different metal-composite constructions. Measurement of damages of a multilayer composite surface, the principal scheme of the thermal gas ballistic laboratory installation, basic and structural schemes of optical detector of deformations ODD-C, dependence of the optical gauge displacement, a screenshot of the developed software for the ,,ODD" device operation, the scheme of the contactless surface deformation damages scanning method, calculation algorithm of the scanned surface coordinates, appearance of the material samples after punching with a spherical piercer and computer representation of measurements of damaged zones, results of research of metal-plastic composites, increase of ability of samples to absorb the energy of the sphere, discrete character of deformation distribution are presented in the paper.

The problem concerning the stress-strain state of a plate under impact load with various intensity levels of collision momentum applying finite-element method was considered. This paper describes the initial model of the load-mine-ground relation and presents the preliminary results of a computer simulation. Pressure mine-clearing devices, with discs loosely embedded on the axis of the minesweeping section, (disc mine-clearing devices) cause deformation to the mine 's firing mechanism, which, through the actuation of the fuse, leads to the detonation of the inner-placed explosive. It is assumed that under the load of a mine clearing vehicle, the active part of the mine's cover will be vertically displaced by 6-10 [mm] actuating the fuse of the mine. Although the construction parameters of pressure mine-clearing devices are known, there is a shortage of instructions and data requisite for proper construction and effectiveness examination of dynamic mine-clearing vehicles. In fact, during mine clearing with a dynamic mine-clearing device, the force exerted upon the mine (Ngr) is that of the pressure by the disc (an element of the device). This force differs from a static load and the differences result from the following factors: mine placement type of soil as well as its physical and mechanical properties construction properties of a mine-clearing device pace of mine clearing The issue of influence transferred from the surface of the ground onto the mine placed inside is not present in literature and it constitutes an interesting and important scientific issue in terms of selecting parameters for dynamic minesweeping devices. Similarly to a static load, shock waves propagating within the ground cause its volumetric and structural deformations. The main cause of the differences lies in the briefness of a dynamic load. The gradual growth of static loads (clenching) causes displacement of air and water in the pores and their partial squeezing out. In the case of a static load applied to sandy soils, the process lasts from a few minutes to a few hours, whereas in the case of clay and loessial ones, it extends to a few days, weeks or, sometimes, even months. Under static and dynamic loads, the ground reacts similarly to a three-component centre with a changing-with-time amount of air and water. The action time of a percussive load extends from a few to between ten and twenty milliseconds. Due to air and water inertia, this is too short a period of time to squeeze them out of the pores of the soil, which reacts in a way similar to a three-component centre with a constant amount of air and water. Since in unhydrated soils the main part of the pores' volume consists of air, both static and dynamic loads are accompanied by the absorption of the main stresses by the skeleton. With static loads exerted upon the hydrated soil, both water and air flow loosely out of the pores without the absorption of the loads. In terms of strength the only working element here is the ground's skeleton. In the case of short-lasting, intense loads, water (with a small amount of trapped air) will not flow out simultaneously with the skeleton and, as in the case of mean pressures, it may absorb the load to a larger extent than the skeleton itself. The way the hydrated ground reacts to low pressures - below 1 MPa - is therefore largely determined by the amount of air in the pores. Therefore, the ground with a mine placed inside is a multiphase center with changeable properties - the semi-limited area with mechanical properties changing with each cycle of dynamic influence put upon its surface. Although the issue of the ground pressure measurement is dealt with in various publications, there is a lack of data concerning how it changes under the mechanical influence of moving vehicles and under that of dynamic minesweeping devices - the problem which is essential for a safe minefield crossing. The effectiveness of percussive minesweeping devices can be evaluated upon the basis of the experimental data obtained by means of measuring equipment. The elaboration of a reliable ground-mine relation model for short-time (percussive) influences transferred to the ground surface should accelerate the process of selecting parameters for dynamic mine clearing in terms of obtaining the maximum destructive impact, either directly upon the mine or through the actuation of its firing mechanisms for various types of mines, different depths at which they are buried as well as for various soils with their different properties. The above task is the aim of further works focusing on the subject presented in this paper.

In the paper there were described assumptions and methodology of building the mathematical model of the transmission system of tracked agricultural tractor. There was presented model including 34 mass elements jointed by elasto-damping elements. As a result of calculations were estimated parameters of those elements basing on measurements of real object as well as were formulated differential equations of movement taking into account the underslung working equipment. As well were described the method of modelling transmission components, especially taking into consideration reaction moments between elements transmitting power and the chassis of the tractor. There was presented the way of defining the course of engine torque and estimated the main harmonics, with ultimate influence on dynamic loads of transmission. In the range of examination of the transmission operating loads, model takes into account the inputting changes of clutch friction torque during switching it on and off. Model gives ability to analyze the dynamic loads of transmission system depending on clutch slide. Model also allows existing clearances, what gives the possibility of analysis of abrasive wear influence on functioning of the transmission. Model enables the simulation of turning mechanism brakes operation during manoeuvring movement of the tractor.

This paper is devoted to a circular cylindrical thin-walled shell made of a porous-cellular material. The cylindrical shell is loaded by impulse of combined forces versus of the time. The impulses of forces by course are taken. In the paper a combined axial and external pressure are assumed. A shell is simply supported on all outer edges. The mechanical properties vary continuously on the thickness of a shell. On the ground of Magnucki's model a nonlinear hypothesis of deformation of a plane cross section of the shell is assumed. The displacement field of any cross section and nonlinear geometrical and physical relationships are assumed in a cylindrical coordinate system. The system of three partial differential equations for dynamic stability shell was obtained using the Hamilton's principle. This system of equations is solved by Galerkin method. In the next step the system of two motion equations was solved by the use of the numerical method (Runge-Kutta). The results of the calculation are presented for selected variables, for example, the time of the duration of external load, the amplitude of the impulse, dimensionless parameter of shell porosity, the share of axial load in the total loads. The results of the research for family ofporous shell are presented.
W pracy przedstawiono analizę dynamicznej utraty stateczności powłoki, wywołanej działaniem zmiennego w czasie obciążenia o charakterze impulsowym. Przyjęto impuls o kształcie pófali sinusoidy. Zamknięta powłoka walcowa poddana została jednoczesnemu osiowemu ściskaniu i ciśnieniu zewnętrznemu. Powłoka zorientowana jest w walcowym układzie współrzędnych oraz podparta swobodnie na krawędziach zewnętrznych. Właściwości powłoki po grubości są zmienne i zależą od porowatości materiału. Przyjęty został nieliniowy stan przemieszczeń w przekroju poprzecznym. Związki pomiędzy przemieszczeniem i odkształceniem opisane są za pomocą geometrycznie nieliniowych równań. Równania stateczności powłoki zostały wyprowadzone z zasady Hamiltona, a następnie rozwiązane metodą ortogonalizacyjną Bubnowa-Galerkina. Otrzymano układ dwóch nieliniowych równań ruchu. Równania te rozwiązane zostały numerycznie metodą Rungego-Kutty. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki obliczeń dla przykładowych zmiennych: czas trwania i amplituda impulsu, parametr porowatości powłoki, udziałściskania osiowego do ciśnienia. Wyniki badań przedstawione zostały w postaci wykresów.
