Opis:
One of the most important systems responsible for safe take-off and landing of aircraft is a landing gear system. Regardless of the configuration and the type of landing gear, its main function is to absorb energy from landing. The aim of this paper is to describe design and numerical optimization of modern tricycle-type, retractable landing gear system equipped with oleo-pneumatic amortization and mechanical emergency release. The landing gear was designed for a new prototype of 4 seats 1400 kg (AT-6) take-off mass aircraft in accordance with Certification Specifications for Normal, Utility, Aerobatic and Commuter Category Aeroplanes – CS-23. A complete design process from concept to final version was performed in Warsaw Institute of Aviation’s Landing Gear Laboratory. Proposed retractable landing gear concept substantially reduces aerodynamic drag of aircraft. Although application of one retraction system for the left and right gear make the system more complicated, this solution significantly reduces weight. The authors, because of the project complexity, focused on most important aspects of the main landing gear design and described numerical optimization of chosen components like composite leg with main and upper aluminium fittings. Engineers involved in the project used SolidEdge software for 3D modelling, kinematics optimization and 2D documentation preparation. Strength and stiffness analysis was carried out using hand and numerical calculation methods – FEMAP with NX Nastran and Hyperworks software.

Opis:
Nowadays, many residential buildings are built in areas close to railway and tram lines. Therefore, there is a necessity to find a method that allows taking into account in the process of building design influences of the vibration caused by passing trains and trams. This article presents analysis of propagation of vibration wave excited by the movement of trams in the soil on which is planned to build multi-storey residential building. To determine the amplitude of vibration the Finite Element Method (FEM) model was used. The FEM model which was used during the analysis takes into account variable heterogeneous mechanical properties of the soil. The analysis uses the results of measurements of vibration acceleration amplitudes done by employees of the Department of Robotics and Mechatronics AGH during the works on government research project 4875/B/TO2/2010/38 and the results of drilling carried out to identify the composition of the soil at the planned place of foundation building. The developed method allows determining the wave vibration in the ground without necessity to perform complex measurements of soil vibration. The proposed method can be successfully applied in the preparation of project documentation for public buildings and reduces the costs of preliminary analysis of the influence of the traffic on the dynamic properties of the newly designed facility.

Opis:
Nowadays, many of the designed roads are located through the densely built-up residential areas, and even the areas where there are historic buildings. Therefore, already at the stage of preliminary road design one should take into account the effects of vibration wave propagation caused by movement of vehicles on buildings located in the immediate vicinity of designed road. One of the methods that can be used to determine the dynamic effects of designed road for residential buildings is the finite element method. This paper presents an application of the finite element method for the estimation of the dynamic interaction of designed road located in the centre of a major city in the nearby residential buildings. Finite element method was used to model the land and buildings located near the designed road. In the process of land modelling the geological studies of ground and measurements of soil vibrations caused by the vibratory road roller rides conducted by the authors were used. Thus, it was possible to tune the developed finite element model. Proposed in this paper method of analysis of ground vibrations reduce the time needed to design a vibration isolating elements that will protect people and buildings from the destructive effects of vibration caused by vehicles movement the designed road. The work was carried out in a research project 4875/B/TO2/2010/38 financed by Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Opis:
In this paper the numerical step-by-step method of cam profile design is presented. The results of its using for internal combustion engine valve gear are submitted. Its basis is a principle of step-by-step formation of the tappet movement law taking into account restrictions, which permit to refuse of before hand, accepted cam profile description. Thus instead of the analytical law of tappet movement the numerical representation is used, and the algorithm of positive and negative acceleration forming provides maximum cam efficiency, depending on the tappet displacement diagram completeness and connected to it valve timing. A longside with formation of the tappet movement law definition of the necessary data for manufacturing and the control of the corresponding cam profile using various kinematic schemes is stipulated. This method allows to profile of maximum efficiency cams in view of many restrictions on parameters, connected to valve gear serviceability and reliability: contact stress in cam-tappet pair, pressure angle, coverage factor of the valve springs effort, radius of cam profile curvature, oil film thickness in the cam-tappet pair and the restrictions on the higher order of derivative from the tappet displacement on the cam turn angle. Efficiency ofa considered method has been confirmed at profiling cams for lines of tractor and automobile engines.

Opis:
This paper contains results from practical test of airplane I - 23 Manager for loads during turnover. The measurements in separated points had been taken and compared with theoretical simulations, calculated in finite element method. The both results were identical only up to 50% of normal loads when using linear analysis. The factor safety for theoretical linear analysis and Hill's method was not true, because real body of airplane was broken before necessary load limit requirements by IKCSP. The linear method had been changed into geometrical non-linear method, because the latter more precisely showed deformations and strains, stresses in layers of all composite elements in the cab in the range of required loads. This article presents only the progress philosophy which showed most rational in respect of technical and economic point of view. The solution of design approach was reached with a method of following non-linear simulations which from formal was not here introduced. The finished construction was not presented because the relevant data is legally protected by Institute of Aeronautics.
Artykuł zawiera omówienie przebiegu próby statycznej samolotu I - 23 Manager podczas kapotażu.
