Opis:
Electronic systems work in different conditions of exploitation. Because of specific nature of their application (such as transport for example), they should be characterized by a high level of coefficient of the readiness. When carrying out a proper reliability analysis of systems can be determined such reliability structures, which will be characterized by the appropriate values of rates of reliability. Such an approach provides to improvement of the reliability of the designed systems. However not to the full extent, it is not possible to achieve the system's readiness at the appropriately high level to the full extent. The paper presents a methodology to optimize the process of exploitation these systems, taking into account economic conditions, such as of financial expenses designed on periodical reviews and the effectiveness of their use. There is presented the dependence that maximizes the value of the coefficient of the readiness in the defined reliability (failures rate), exploitation (intensity of repairs, intensity of maintenance service) and economic conditions (financial outlays earmarked for periodic inspections).

The main groups of processes executed during exploitation phase of a machine are service and operating processes. The main objective of the operating processes is a generation of machine's operation effects. While an objective of the service processes is a reconstruction of object's exploitation properties, which are necessary to proper machine operation. In the case of complex, crucial exploitation systems the service and operating processes can't beperformed in the same time. Then, it is necessary to implement adeąuate strategy of exploitation processes execution. According to carried out studies it was stated that the service and operating processes could be expressed as functions of an operational potential amount included in an exploitation system. It was also stated that execution of the exploitation processes according to the optimal maintenance strategy guaranties minimisation of an operational potential amount untransformed to effects of the exploitation system operation. In the case of the analysed class of complex, crucial, strategic exploitation systems the start moment of the service processes is defined a several months in advance. In this paper, the maintenance strategy by controlled consumption of operational potential is presented. The strategy is formulated as an optimal method of exploitation processes execution. It is especially useful in the case of complex systems where it should be make a most of the operational potential.

Transport telematics systems integrate information technology with telecommunications for their use in various transport systems. Thanks to the use of advanced technical solutions and modern telecommunications and IT systems, it is possible to implement additional innovative services. They can be used to rationalize the process of using and maintaining means of transport. Modern vehicles are equipped with telematic on-board systems. Such solutions combine various electronic devices used in the vehicle. For this purpose, bus solutions are used, thanks to which it is possible to control individual systems and devices. It is also possible to use the transmitted data to detect negative exploitation phenomena during vehicle use (e.g. glazing phenomenon, work in the upper engine rev range with too low coolant temperature, intensive work compressor of the high air pressure system being a symptom of inability of pneumatic systems). This is possible because the data being sent has a specific information resource. Thanks to this, to can be concluded about the loss of the exploitation potential of the vehicle. This approach will be used to rationalize the technical service of the vehicle fleet, with regard to profiling. Using exploitation data, received via a telematic interface from vehicles, it is possible to profile the rolling stock. It consists in distinguishing individual sets of vehicles due to certain reliability and exploitation properties. This approach allows for the specification of the rolling stock exploitation, giving the opportunity to rationalize the use and exploitation. The publication presents the author’s graph of the exploitation process taking into account the profiling of the vehicle fleet. The application of the presented approach will contribute to the improvement of the value of certain vehicle reliability and exploitation indicators.

The safety of transport facilities depends not only on effectiveness of the applied individual safety systems but also on their power supply systems’ proper operation (also including electromagnetic interferences). Therefore, in this paper, the authors analysed the power supply selection for the electronic safety systems applied in transport, taking into account the reliability and exploitation requirements included in the regulations and standards on these systems. The appropriate electricity supply to electric safety systems is the basis of their proper functioning. It means that the power supply, with required parameters for a given device, should be connected to individual electric receivers of electric safety systems. However, only supplying electricity to the device is not equivalent to provision of its operation continuity and the appropriate level of values of the reliability and exploitation indices. Therefore, emergency power supply systems should be used. The authors developed an algorithm of the power supply selection for electronic safety systems, including the categories of power and hazards occurring in the facility. In further considerations, it is planned to carry out further analyses taking into account other types of power supply systems, and the development of a computer programme, which constitutes an exemplification of the obtained deliberations.

The handling operations are the inseparable element of production processes. The percentage of this type of work, in reference to other production activities, can reach even high levels bringing the increase of expended costs. The capital consumption of handling works affects the improvement of a proper selection of means to assure the production profitability. An important issue of selecting the handling means is based on their work efficiency evaluation. The paper contains the description of the software (developed at The University of Life Sciences in Lublin), that would be helpful in solving the real problems associated with the selection of the continuous handling means used for works planned to do during a production process. The described software is an application consisting of forms that reflect divisions of means for continuous handling and connected databases for storing auxiliary information and results of calculations performed. The principle of the software is based on making calculations of the work efficiency as well as exploitation costs for continuous handling means. Additional values are: ease of data input and search for means characterized by possibly the lowest exploitation costs. Correctness of the software functioning was verified on an example related to comparison of three conveyor types.

It can be assumed that at least some of the systems associated with the train traffic operation work in the “mission” mode, i.e. their availability and operational dependability are related to safe “move” of a train through the strictly defined section of the railway line, i.e. systems (devices) must operate reliably during “mission”. In the remaining time, operation of devices does not affect the safe train traffic operation. For example, it is possible to list crossing signalling systems or the GSM-R system, which along with the ETCS 2/3 system, constitutes the ERTMS system. In the article, the GSM-R system operation analysis, in terms of the above-mentioned factors, is presented. In general, it can be assumed that the GSM-R system devices (e.g. BTS base stations) should be efficient within the specific periods, i.e. during the train passing through the relevant section of the railway line. According to the authors’ calculations, it is stated that within longer periods, the selected GSM-R system devices (BTS stations) cannot be fully efficient, i.e. possible failures occurred and removed in these periods will not affect the safe train running.

The carried on studies consider a crucial complex exploitation system of strategic importance from the national economy point of view. In case ofsuch class of systems, operation and service processes should be executed according to maintenance strategy named maintenance strategy by controlled consumption of operational potential. Thanks to it, optimal amount of operational potential included in the system can be transformed into the effect of the system operation. To execute exploitation processes according to the mentioned above strategy a model of operational potential consumption process should be implemented. The model estimates amount of operational potential consumed during exploitation processes execution. During carried out studies, models used to manage exploitation systems maintenance were identified. In the paper, identified models are divided into groups of analytical, stochastic and system ones. Next, usefulness of each group of models to control processes of exploitation phase of crucial complex strategic exploitation systems was discussed. As a result it was stated that it is necessary to create the universal system model, which can project influence of forcing factors on a s tate of technical object being a part of considered class of technical systems. In the paper, a structure of created universal system model was also proposed. This model was created by implementation the artificial intelligence techniques in form of genetic algorithms and fuzzy logic. Fuzzy logic was used to model approximate character of model input data and genetic algorithms were used to optimize a value of model output data.

The exploitation phase consists from big number of different processes. Therefore the optimal management of this phase is very complicated. To make it easier the computerization could be implemented. Some software applications are already put into practice in this filed but they are partial solutions. The comprehensive computerization of the exploitation phase management faces a lot of difficulties. The main reason of the problems is the approximate character of the analyzed processes and factors. Additionally the inaccuracy appears not only on the input data level but also in the algorithms and procedures of the exploitation phase management and control. In the paper the implementation of the fuzzy sets theory is presented. The fuzzy logic is used to model the approximate character of the analyzed processes. During the industry studies there were identified the fields where the fuzzy logic implementation could solve the computerization problems. In the paper the results of the studies are presented in the form of the idea of fuzzy logic implementation in the area of machine and devices exploitation.
Podczas fazy eksploatacji maszyn i urządzeń zachodzi wiele procesów wykazujących odmienną charakterystykę. W związku z tym bardzo istotne jest poprawne kierowanie ich przebiegiem. Zadanie to jest zagadnieniem trudnym i złożonym, dlatego duże usługi na tym polu może oddać wprowadzenie komputeryzacji. Mimo, że na wielu obszarach eksploatacji maszyn i urządzeń pojawiło się wspomaganie komputerowe to jednak kompleksowa komputeryzacja kierowania fazą eksploatacji napotyka znaczne trudności. Trudności te związane są z występowaniem w licznych zagadnieniach eksploatacyjnych nieścisłego i przybliżonego charakteru analizowanych zjawisk i czynników. Co więcej niedokładność i nieokreśloność pojawia się zarówno na poziomie parametrów wejściowych do procesów decyzyjnych kierowania fazą eksploatacji jak i występuje w algorytmach i procedurach ich przebiegu. W opracowaniu proponuje się zastosowanie elementów teorii zbiorów rozmytych do modelowania niedokładności występujących w procesach kierowania fazą eksploatacji. W trakcie badań przeprowadzonych na rzeczywistych obiektach przemysłowych wyodrębniono szereg miejsc gdzie zastosowanie modelowania rozmytego może przynieść poprawę możliwości wprowadzenia wspomagania komputerowego procesów. W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań w formie koncepcji zastosowania modelowania rozmytego w dziedzinie eksploatacji maszyn i urządzeń.

The total cost of the aircraft maintenance was in 2012 about $ 80 billion, including maintenance, repair and overhaul, ie. MRO market (Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul), the operators of these aircraft have spent about $ 60.7 billion – of which 40% were direct maintenance costs of the engines. It can be concluded that main influencer on airline direct maintenance costs are spending for power plants. The article shows that the appropriate exploitation of the engine, leading not only to the total operating costs (mainly the cost of fuel and maintenance) reduction. Also through continuously engine health monitoring, resulting in a higher reliability, and thereby increases the safety of flying and – what is now especially important – by decreasing fuel consumption reduces greenhouse gas and exhaust toxic components emissions. The modern aircraft engine and its basic performances were described. Based on data, analysis from approximately twenty thousand flights of the specific operator and self-experience, the benefits from the use of specific maintenance and operational tasks are presented. Results of the calculations were demonstrated which proved that engine life extension between overhaul (TBO) has impact on the operator’s maintenance reserves reduction, positive cash flow and fuel cost savings. The article confirms that it need not be contradiction between aircraft operator economic effect, and the improvement of safety of flying.

Tachograph is belonging to On Board Recording Devices. Its development has been beginning since before The Second World War. The first on board recording devices is analog tachograph which obligatory to using to introduce in USA in 1939. This paper includes main rules of function of analog tachograph and digital tachographs system using in road transport in European Union. Paper presents also possibility of future requirements of digital tachograph and authorizes workshops in Poland and Union Europe base on Commission Regulation (EC) No 1360/2002 of 13 June 2002 replacing the Annex 1B. If a vehicle is not under obligation of installing the recording equipment and it is equipped with such equipment then the activation and calibration of this equipment must be performed. If a vehicle is not under obligation of installing the recording equipment and it is not equipped with such equipment then the installation of such equipment is not necessary. In particular the view of certificated vehicles unit - digital tachograph, view of cards in digital tachographs system in Poland, diagram of calibration of digital tachograph on work station are presented in the paper.

The natural seawater contains both dissolved and suspended organic substances originating from natural sources and human activities – like the marine transport fleet among other. To specify the type and quantity of vitally valid as well as dangerous for properly functioning marine ecosystems substances complicated and sophisticated chemical instrumentation and methodologies must be used. Only a small number of seawater components it is possible easily to determine their concentrations – for example, the salt content is determined directly in the bulk of water through simultaneous measurement of electrolytic conductivity and temperature of water. It is worth to search similarly quick method for oil substances directly in the seawater. Taking into account seawater organic pollutants originating from natural sources inter alia crude oils, the presence of refinery petroleum substances due to their fluorescence in ultra-violet light can be determined based on fluorescence spectroscopy. The aim of this paper is to search fluorescence features of oil substances dissolved in natural seawater based on excitation-emission spectroscopy. In the paper fresh and oily contaminated seawater taken from the coastal area of the Baltic Sea were used. As an oil pollution ‘Petro-baltic’ oil were applied. The natural seawater, at first was laboratory exposed to low extremely amount of oil and then it was examined by fluorescence under UV light. The seawater from vicinity of Gdynia (Poland) were tested as fresh and after artificially contaminated by different amount of oil (from 0.5 to 500 ppm). Spectrofluorometer Hitachi F-7000 FL was applied to measure excitation-emission spectra (EEMs). Low amounts of oil (up to several ppm) cause increasing of main peak in excitation-emission spectra (EEMs). Addition of larger amounts of oil results in appearance new peaks, which originate from fluorescence of soluble fractions of oil artificially added to examined water. These specific features of oil describe the spectroscopic signatures of oil, which is the basis to development operational method of the source of oil pollution identification.

The efficiency of the aircraft exploitation process is a problem, to which more and more attention is paid not only in the commercial aviation, but also in the military one. One of the factors, which have a direct impact on its level, is the operated aircraft or helicopter technical readiness that is the ability of airworthiness when there is a need to use them in order to perform specific aviation tasks. In turn, the aircraft technical readiness level is affected by a number of factors, the most important of which include its characteristics, technical service system and logistical security system. This paper is devoted to the issue connected with the aircraft technical readiness assessment as well as identification of factors, which have an impact on its level, and also their impact level analysis. Furthermore, the particular attention was paid to technical services. The research results of a few types of aircraft in terms of the technical service malfunction and damage impact on their technical readiness level were also presented. At the end, the importance of such an approach and the possible use in practice were emphasised.

In this paper, the authors presented some technical and economic relations to which a team designing a new means of transport should pay attention. In the first chapter briefly describes the hovercraft designed and built at the Institute of Aviation, as well as showing the certification documents obtained in the process of certification by the Polish Register of Shipping and Inland Navigation Office. The second chapter shows some parts of the production process. In the third chapter shows the drive unit and the characteristics of the selected motor. Problems of selecting a drive unit for a newly designed hovercraft aimed at transporting people and goods were described. The choice of propulsion engine, its quality and the kind of fuel affect the cost of purchase as well as the time and exploitation costs. A user planning a transport network pays particular attention to minimizing operating costs and the consequent reliability and safety. The authors presented regulations and standards, which need to be met by the transport unit designed for use in the public area. Attention was also paid to ecology, noise and pollution. An algorithm, which takes into account the rules of conduct, requirements of the ordering party and conditions of the manufacturer, was proposed. In conclusion, the generalized technical and economic guidelines are proposed which, in the authors’ opinion, may aid the development of a conceptual design of new modes of transport – not only the hovercraft.

Fuel consumption is one of the base variables to take into account in car's exploitation. Important are current and future fuel consumption. Fundamental ąuestion is how time of car 's exploitation is economically grounded. In case of exploitation of the cars' fleet not fewer important is fleet's cost forecasting which, infirst step originated from fuel 's cost. When theory of the cumulate fuel 's consumption was appeared in 2004 [1] forecasting for this matter is possible. Suitability of theory was presented [1] in reference to city bus communication fueled with diesel, in presented result [2] they proved suitable of theory to trunk bus communication (fueled with diesel too) whilst this paper presents results for fleet fueled with LPG. In text presents the mathematics models of cumulated fuel consumption in process of vehicle's exploitation. Presented way and procedure are to construction of solid model. Heeded mention to characteristic qualities of cumulate fuel's consumption. Presented examples of taking advantage of a theory for mark an exploitation of vehicles' fleet fueled with LPG. Further presented forecasting of LPG consumption are for estimate mileage for few vehicles 'fleet and whole fleet. Reported a full prove of a theory of the cumulate fuel's consumption also for LPG.
Zużycie paliwa jest jednym z podstawowych czynników branych pod uwagę w eksploatacji pojazdów. Ważne jest zarówno zużycie aktualnie występujące w eksploatacji jak i prognozowane w dłuższej perspektywie czasowej. Istotne jest bowiem pytanie jak długo eksploatowany powinien być pojazd by miało to uzasadnienie ekonomiczne. W przypadku eksploatacji floty pojazdów nie mniej ważne jest również prognozowanie kosztów eksploatacji floty, a te wynikają w pierwszym rzędzie z kosztów zakupu paliwa. Prognozowanie w omawianej problematyce stało się możliwe po opracowaniu w 2004 roku [1] teorii skumulowanego zużycia paliwa. Przydatność teorii wykazano w odniesieniu do autobusów komunikacji miejskiej zasilanych olejem napędowym, w [2] przedstawiono wyniki potwierdzające przydatność teorii w autobusach komunikacji międzymiastowej, (których silniki były także zasilane olejem napędowym) natomiast w publikacji niniejszej wyniki odnoszące się floty pojazdów zasilanych LPG. W referacie przedstawiono modele matematyczne skumulowanego zużycia paliwa w procesie eksploatacji pojazdu. Podano sposób oraz procedurę wyznaczania stałych modeli. Zwrócono uwagę na charakterystyczne cechy skumulowanego zużycia paliwa. Przedstawiono przykłady wykorzystania opracowanej teorii do oceny eksploatacji floty pojazdów zasilanych LPG. Podano również prognozy zużycia LPG, do zakładanych przebiegów, przez poszczególne pojazdy floty oraz całej floty. Wykazano pełną przydatność opracowanej teorii skumulowanego zużycia paliwa również w wypadku gdy paliwem jest LPG.

At contemporary technical designs, many equipment and installation are working for a long time and under complex environmental which include mechanical, thermal and chemical loadings. Before the new technical design is accepted for work it must be carefully investigated in order to evaluate its usefulness for real need. During the ship engine operation one of the key problems is the exhaust valve durability. A special interest is in valve head face because this narrow part of the valve is responsible for tightness. Very often the durability of the valve is not sufficient in spite of using heat treated high alloy steels. Surfacing the seat face with different techniques and different resisting materials can increase the durability of valves and also can be useful to repair worn components. Because the ship engine valves are the example of the parts which are highly mechanical and chemical loaded and subjected for long service life, the design of the special examination chamber seems to be useful. At this station, the clad layer made by different techniques and from different cladding materials are undergo exhaust gases corrosion and elevated temperature is the factor which accelerates process. In this paper the schematic diagram of the modeling chamber and some results of the investigation are presented. There are comparisons of the microstructure and hardness of the worn valve heads from the real working engine and samples which were exposed in the chamber. The metallographic method of the analyse and microhardness measurements were used.
We współczesnej technice szereg części urządzeń i instalacji pracuje w długich okresach czasu i w złożonych warunkach obciążenia mechanicznego, termicznego i chemicznego. Próby wprowadzenia nowych rozwiązań technicznych muszą być poprzedzone szczegółowymi badaniami, które stwierdzą przydatność do konkretnych zastosowań. Problemem występującym w przemyśle okrętowym, a dokładniej w procesie eksploatacji silników okrętowych jest trwałość jednego z kluczowych elementów tj. zaworów wylotowych. Z punktu widzenia eksploatacji największą uwagę poświęca się wąskiej powierzchni przylgni zaworu, której dokładność dopasowania decyduje o jego szczelności. Pomimo stosowania stali wysokostopowych obrobionych cieplnie trwałość zaworów jest często niewystarczająca. Aby zwiększyć ich trwałość stosuje się pokrycie przylgni stopami charakteryzującymi się większą odpornością w wyżej wymienionych warunkach pracy. Stopy i technologie powinny także umożliwiać nie tylko wytwarzanie warstw na nowych zaworach, ale także umożliwiać ich regenerację. Ponieważ zawory silników okrętowych są przykładem części silnie obciążonych zarówno mechanicznie jak i chemicznie a czasy ich eksploatacji liczy się w tysiącach godzin stąd pożyteczne wydaje się zastosowanie specjalnie zaprojektowanej komory, w której wykonane różnymi metodami warstwy będą podlegać oddziaływaniu spalin, a podwyższona temperatura będzie dodatkowym czynnikiem przyspieszającym proces degradacji. Jednakże istotna jest ocena na ile przyspieszone procesy w komorze odpowiadają rzeczywistym procesom degradacji. W pracy przedstawiono schemat komory modelowej oraz wyniki badań dla zaworów poddanych korozji w komorze oraz ich porównanie ze zużytymi zaworami po eksploatacji w silniku okrętowym podczas normalnej eksploatacji. Do badań wykorzystano metody badań metalograficznych oraz pomiary mikrotwardości.
