Opis:
Development of alternative energy sources, including biodiesel, leads to growth of threats for the economy end environment issues all over the world. Manny research and effort was done during last years to introduce first and second generation biofuels to the market. Besides the first running Diesel engine was supplied by biofuel on this field still is lot to do. The issue of alternative fuels has gained additional importance because of much environmental, financial and political matter. The paper describes the legacy and achievements of the research work which was carried out in Poland, presents directions of biofuels usage. Presents development of legislation and standards are affecting producing and usage alternative energy sources in Poland and Europe as well as other countries all over the World. Renewable energy sources, minimal content of biofuel in fuels acc. to EU directive, comparison of properties of alternative fuels, classification of biofuels, simplified systems block diagram of the algae do biodiesel process, development of alternative fuels technologies, European norms in use of bio-fuels and bio-components, biofuel market in Poland, renewable fuels other than biofuels are presented in the paper.

Opis:
The development of societies building modern economies and production was and is associated with the continuous growth of energy consumption. Nowadays the world was forced to take a different look at the problem of energy consumption and fossil fuels. Because of cost of mining and production, unstable political situation in resource-rich countries and ecological perspective, many scientists seeks renewable energy sources, in quantity sufficient to meet the demand. Because of development of technologies obtaining many types of renewable energy sources that can be adapted to the needs of energy and the environment in which it will be received. Because of rich resources of ingredients that make production possible biogas, it is the most appropriate renewable fuel for agricultural infrastructure. The paper comprehensively describes factors influencing the development of renewable energy to their nature and technology in the application of renewable fuel gas with particular reference to methane gas and biomethane. There is general agreement on the Reed for sustainable biofuel industry, there is little understanding on how to avoid social and environmental degradation with global biofuel production. Results showed a variety of government policies, the most significant of which concerns agricultural production. In analyses the impact of government's policies on promotion of affordable, alternative energy sources capable of maintaining current energy consumption standards.

Opis:
One of the main directions of development of power transmission systems in vehicles involves improvement of energy efficiency of combustion engines, especially reduction of the loss related to waste heat in cooling and exhaust systems. The traditional role of the exhaust system is to remove exhaust gases from a combustion engine and muffle the noise created during the engine’s operation. Relevant distribution of temperatures along the entire length of the exhaust system is a very important element in such a complex structure. The examples could be the particulate solids filter or the converter which have to reach a relevant temperature to operate properly while the temperature’s growth is simultaneously restricted due to the limitations associated with the materials used. The research was conducted while using the ECOTEC 1.8 litre engine from Opel, the X18XE model. The engine was installed in a tested, in the mechatronic lab at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machinery Engineering (SIMR) of Warsaw University of Technology. The paper reviews the energy efficiency of TEG depending on deferent parameters of gas stream an weather conditions. This is original value of this paper. The results of the experiment are presented in the last section of the article.

Opis:
Cogeneration systems using a Stirling engine [2] are currently being developed and promoted by the European Union [1]. On the other hand, the EU climatic package obligates Polish energy producers to buy 100% CO2 emission rights from 2020 onwards. At that time, according to the experts a ton of CO2 could reach the price of 63.5 Euro. Attention is drawn to the fact that it is only then that nuclear power plants will become profitable, in the same way as wind power plants. This could result in substantial growth of energy prices, both for the economy and for households [3]. The paper presents the experimental research of a cogeneration system with a one-way Alpha type Stirling engine. The impact of the upper heat source and the type of working gas (helium and nitrogen) on the load capacity of the cogeneration system was studied. Based on a Sankey diagram, the power spread of the cogeneration system was analysed. On the basis of experimental research, a model was created of a cogeneration system consisting of the following submodels: Stirling engine of the second order, belt transmission, electric motor and an electrochemical battery. The Stirling engine was installed in a testbed, in the mechatronic lab at the Faculty of Automotive and Construction Machinery Engineering (SIMR) of Warsaw University of Technology. Furthermore, the impact of regenerator efficiency on the efficiency of the Stirling Engine was examined, which in turns impacts the efficiency of the entire cogeneration system.
