Opis:
The article presents the results of investigations referring to self-ignition delay angle determined experimentally and through simulations. It was done using charged agricultural Perkins 1104C-E44T engine powered by pure diesel fuel (ON) and fuel mixtures, such as: diesel fuel with 10% camelina oil ester additive (L10) and diesel fuel with 15% camelina oil ester additive (L15). Camelina oil ester was used to show that it can also be used as an additive plant to diesel fuel (according to the plans of the European Union). Similarly to on a large scale used ester of rapeseed oil. The main aim of the above mentioned research was to show the influence of the fuels on the change of self-ignition delay angle for different rotational velocity conditions of the engine and for maximum volumetric dose of ignited fuel. The research was performed using a dynamometer test stand equipped with measurement system of fast-changeable needle lift of injector and the pressures of working substance. Before starting the investigations, selected physicochemical properties of researched fuels were determined that significantly influence that parameter of the combustion process. At the end of the article the conclusion of experiments and simulations results referring to selfignition delay angle are analysed.

Opis:
This paper presents the results of comparative research into basic physical and chemical properties of pure diesel fuel and two types of mixtures: Camelina oil ester (Camelina oil ester content in the mixture was 10% and 15%) and diesel fuel. Camelina oil ester was used to show that it can also be used as an additive plant to diesel fuel (according to the plans of the European Union). Similarly to on a large scale used ester of rapeseed oil. The base fuel in the research was clean diesel fuel (without the addition of ester as in the case of diesel fuel available at petrol stations). The use of fuels with different physical and chemical properties to supply the diesel engine and the use of measuring equipment used for determining the parameters of fast-changing operation resulted in the determination of the operating medium average pressure during the combustion process. On the basis of the experimental pressure characteristics of heat release were identified. Analysis of these characteristics determined the proportion of total combustion phases of kinetics and diffusion, depending on the type of fuel and operating conditions. Finally, the paper shows that the fuel with different physicochemical properties has a significant effect on the combustion process. A comparative assessment of the suitability of tested mixtures for operational use was made.

Opis:
The paper presents results of examinations concerning stream spray and ignition delay angles of AD3.152 engine fuelled with mineral fuel Ekodiesel Plus 50B and comparatively fuelled with vegetable fuels like methyl ester FAME and ethyl ester FAEE. Using fuels of different physicochemical properties to diesel engines requires high accuracy of diagnostic parameters measurements in order to learn differences in processes of injection and combustion. Necessity of fulfilling more and more strong standards, concerning emission of toxic components of exhaust gases, forces users of diesel engines to posses quick and precision methods of their technical state assessment and particularly of a combustion process and of injection equipment technical state. Analysis of the obtained diagrams of fuel pressure in the injection pipe enables to determine fuel pressure increase rate. The investigations were carried out on the basis of speed external characteristic using test stand equipped with system of quick-changeable pressures measurements. Stream spray of fuel and ignition delay angles influence combustion process what is connected with emission of toxic components to environment. However, decay period time tested fuels and their limits appeared smaller for vegetable fuels. Considering the results, it is therefore decide to continue our experiments.

Opis:
The paper presents investigation results of the PERKINS 1100 engine. The engine was supplied with a microemulsive fuel mixture: hydrocarbon-ester-ethanol and comparatively with hydrocarbon, low-sulphur EKODIESEL PLUS 5 OB Diesel fuel, as well as the methyl ester of rape oil acids FAME (100%). Usingfuels with different physical and chemical properties for compression-ignition engines requires high accuracy of diagnostic parameter measurements in order to examine differences in processes of injection and combustion. Necessity of fulfilling more and more strict standards concerning emission of toxic components ofexhaust gases forces technical staff servicing Diesel engines to possess quick and precise methods which assess their technical state, particularly combustion process and state of injection equipment. Analysis of the experimentally obtained diagrams of fuel pressure in the injection line andneedle lift enables to determine injection angle. Experimentally obtained indicating diagrams of the engine were used later on to make relative heat release speed diagrams during combustion. In the paper it was proven, that the art of fuel with different physical and chemical properties has a significant influence on the fuel injection process and its burning, duration of injection time, fuel speed out of the spray er as well as the time of stream lasting and quality of its disintegration into drops. This influence affects fuel consumption, energy parameter's, exhaust emission and acoustic signal of an engine.
W referacie przedstawiono wyniki badań silnika PERKINS 1100. Silnik zasilany był mieszaniną paliwa mikroemulsyjnego: węglowodorowo-estrowo-etanolowego oraz porównawczo węglowodorowym, niskosiarkowym olejem napędowym EKODIESEL PLUS 50B i estrem metylowym kwasów oleju rzepakowego FAMĘ (100%). Zastosowanie paliw o różnych właściwościach fizykochemicznych do silników wysokoprężnych wymaga dużych dokładności pomiarów parametrów diagnostycznych celem poznania występujących różnic w procesach wtrysku i spalania. Spełnianie coraz bardziej rygorystycznych norm emisji składników toksycznych spalin zmusza personel techniczny serwisujący silniki spalinowe o zapłonie samoczynnym do posiadania szybkich i precyzyjnych metod oceny ich stanu technicznego, szczególnie procesu spalania oraz stanu aparatury wtryskowej. Analiza eksperymentalnie wyznaczonych wykresów przebiegu ciśnienia paliwa w przewodzie wtryskowym i wzniosu iglicy wtryskiwacza umożliwia wyznaczenie kąta wyprzedzenia wtrysku.

Application of these mixtures has different physicochemical properties to power supply diesel engine, made it possible to detect existing differences in the injection process (pumping and spraying). The analysis of the injection process has been defined through experimental graphs of the fuel pressure in injection line and registered height of the needle injector. With the knowledge of these two fast-changing engine parameters and loadvelocity conditions, there were calculated: fuel flow speed from nozzle, range and fuel spray disintegration time and the average critical diameter of the droplets. In the final part of the article it was shown, that the fuel with different physicochemical properties has a significant impact on the injection process. There were also made a comparative assessment of the suitability test compounds for use in service.

Opis:
This article presents the impact of biofuel for compression-ignition engines, produced with the use of innovative production technology, on the emission of toxic substances. The innovative production technology of biodiesel does not generate by-products, eliminating the need for development glycerol fraction and toxic methanol, substances inconvenient for environment. This technology is not currently well known and not used on an industrial scale. The essence of this technology is to carry out the transesterification of triglycerides and methyl acetate in special conditions and with using an alkaline catalyst. The only product of this technology is a mixture of fatty acid methyl esters and glycerol triacetate (no by-products). In the first part of the article, selected physical and chemical properties of such biofuel in comparison to the limits specified in the standard quality requirements for this type of products (EN 14214) were discussed. In the next part, the results of empirical studies were evaluated, showing the influence of speed and load conditions in test engine Perkins 1104C-E44TA on concentrations of harmful components in the exhaust gases such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, particulates. Engine tests were performed with using biofuels selected by the authors. The measurement system, consisted of an AVL CEB II gas analyser and MEXA-1230PM device for measure of particulate matter in real time, to measure the concentrations of toxic exhaust components was used. Based on the concentration of toxic components of exhaust gases according to Test C1 according to ISO 8178, the emission of the above-mentioned normalized toxic components of exhaust gases was determined. In the final part of the article, the results of empirical studies on the concentrations of toxic exhaust gases in the linear-point diagrams, and emission in the bar chart diagrams were presented.
