Opis:
In this paper were presented results of preliminary research of the fault diagnosis of natural gas engine-driven compressor by vibration analysis. Natural gas engine-driven compressors are heavily exploited during delivering natural gas to the transmission network of Poland. Every failure brings about interferences to gas system, furthermore it causes notably cost of maintenances. The major failures are piston seizures and overly level of vibration causes by exceedingly wear, an unbalanced engine after repairs and dry friction. During research investigated three natural gas engine-driven compressors. Acceleration of engine cylinders was measured in cylinder axis and perpendicularly axis and acceleration of compressor cylinders, engine fundament and gas receiver in three axes. Results obtain during investigation of engine cylinders one gas engine-driven compressor collates with results of validation of engine cylinders after their stripping. Preliminary results of investigation indicate proper trend to set up diagnostic symptoms. It was found that for increasing of information amount is necessary to carry out synchronous measurements and its envelops in domain of crankshaft rotation angle. Very important source of diagnostic information can be shaft acceleration, determined basing on existing system of signals generation. The investigation is to be continued.

Opis:
The current work is devoted to the problem of the damage detecting inside the composite cylindrical panels. The applied method is based on the analysis of the forced vibration and corresponding mode shapes of the structure. The presented study has theoretical character (numerical experiment) but it can be easily adopted in practice, for example in case of the SLDV technique. The analysis is performed with use of finite element method. The internal defect is modeled by the reduction of the composite material stiffness and density in arbitrary chosen elements. In the first step the natural frequencies of the intact structure are computed with use of the modal analysis. Next, the corresponding mode shapes are determined (harmonic analysis) for the damage and intact structure. For the each mode shape the curvature in the longitudinal and circumferential direction are determined. Generally, the change of the curvature are very similar in case of damage and intact structure. However, in the location of the damage the change of mode shape curvature are quite different in comparison with intact ones. This fact can be further used in order to detect any kind of flaws inside the analyzed structure. The appropriate damage index is also introduced. Moreover, the simplified analysis of the measurement error influence on the accuracy of the proposed approach is also investigated. The discussed method of the damage detecting in the investigated here multilayered cylindrical panel are very sensitive. Even single small flaws with relatively low reduction of the material stiffness as well as its position can be effectively detected and localized.

Opis:
The paper describes research work on a full-scale dual-fuel 4-cylinder turbocharged compression ignition engine. Compressed natural gas (CNG) was applied as the main fuel. Selfignition of the air-fuel mixture was initiated from a diesel oil dose injected by a common rail system. The research was aimed to establish maximum CNG share in the mixture delivered into the cylinder. An excessive CNG share may result in "hard" engine operation. It may also lead to the occurrence of vibrations of piston-crank construction parts resulting in failure of this mechanism. These vibrations may originate from knocking combustion (selfignition of the air-fuel mixture in the zone of non-combusted mixture) or vibration excitation as a result of rapid pressure rise after selfignition. Boundary values of the CNG energy share were determined by analysing parameters related to the rate of pressure rise and rate of heat release as well as the engine head vibration amplitude represented by the voltage signal generated by the knock sensor. Boundary values of the above mentioned parameters were determined on the basis of measurements done on the engine fuelled in a standard mode. These parameters were registered at operating points corresponding to the maximum power and load. Then, there were done measurements of basic engine operating parameters at dual fuelling in chosen points of the load characteristic for the engine speed at which the engine fuelled in a standard mode had maximum torque. Load characteristics were done for three various diesel oil doses (constant over the whole range of engine load). Load changes were realized by changes ofCNG energy share in the fuel charge. Analysis of combustion process parameters and engine head vibrations showed that CNG energy share may reach 60%. Maximum torque is possible to obtain at 45% CNG energy share. 15% decrease of maximum torque was obtained.
