Opis:
The regulation of water relations is an important environmental role of permanent greeneries . The valleys used as permanent grasslands often also function as polders or dry flood-control reservoirs. The land amelioration systems realized in the 1970s and 1980s, for economic reasons do not perform the functions they were planned to. This is because their exploitation has been abandoned and the systems still drain the land in an uncontrolled way, i.e. without the regulation of water level assumed in the original project and without limitation of excessive outflow and excessive irrigation in post-drought periods. Their presence leads to an excessive drying of the valley and, as a consequence, to the changes in the mode of land use, from mown meadows to arable land. The aim of the study reported in this paper was to evaluate the functioning of the hitherto existing amelioration systems in the context of their possible use for alleviation of the effects of drought. The current state of amelioration ditches in the area of three amelioration systems established in the areas near the villages Racot, Wyskoć and Rogaczewo, in the catchment area of the Rów Wyskoć river, was examined in field study. Moreover, the analysis of cartographic materials in GIS environment was performed. As a result, the digital maps of the amelioration objects were made. The digital maps were compared with the maps from the 1970s and 1980s when the objects were open for operation.

Opis:
The article considers the results pertaining to the influence of solonetzic soils chemical amelioration on the presence and redistribution of heavy metals and radionuclides in meter profile of soils. Meliorative procedures were carried out 45 years ago. Phosphogypsum has been used as chemical ameliorant up to 90-s on the solonetzic soils of Tyumen region. It is a by-product of phosphates production. The objective aimed at revealing possible negative consequences connected with the introduction of the chemical elements associated with phosphogypsum. The studies showed that phosphogypsum introduction contributes to some increase in the content of active forms of heavy metals (zinc Zn, copper Cu, cadmium Cd and lead Pb) in soil. However, critical values are achieved only by active lead Pb. The evaluation of radioactive state of meadow crusted solonetzic soils after carrying out of meliorative procedures (for the same period) on the content of isotopes of thorium-232 (Th-232), calium-40 (K-40), radium-226 (Ra-226), caesium-137 (Cs-137) and strontium-90 (Sr-90) indicated that redistribution of radionuclides after chemical melioration does not cause a negative change of radiation background. Vibrations in the soil profile are connected with various initial concentration in rock formations or weathering detritus. Specific effective activity (Аeff ≤ 370 Bq/kg) testifies to the soils being studied and absence of their additional introduction with introduced doses of phosphogypsum.

Opis:
The aim of this study was to identify the tile drainage systems within the year (from spring to autumn) using the ground penetrating radar (GPR) geophysical method. The measurements were performed in the experimental locality Dehtáře in the Bohemo-Moravian Highland (Czech Republic) in the years 2016 and 2017. The profiles located in the drained area were repeatedly measured together with the drainage discharges, soil moisture and groundwater level. The best visibility of tile drains was observed during snowmelt (in March and April) when the drainage discharges usually reach their maximum. In other months, the visibility of the drains was variable, but mostly worse. For a reliable detection of individual drains, the measurements above the drainage must be performed in several profiles. Under the conditions of the Czech Republic, the best results were obtained by a 500 MHz frequency antenna.
