Opis:
This paper investigates a chemically reactive Magnetohydrodynamics fluid flow with heat and mass transfer over a permeable surface taking into consideration the buoyancy force, injection/suction, heat source/sink and thermal radiation. The governing momentum, energy and concentration balance equations are transformed into a set of ordinary differential equations by method of similarity transformation and solved numerically by Runge- Kutta method based on Shooting technique. The influence of various pertinent parameters on the velocity, temperature, concentration fields are discussed graphically. Comparison of this work with previously published works on special cases of the problem was carried out and the results are in excellent agreement. Results also show that the thermo physical parameters in the momentum boundary layer equations increase the skin friction coefficient but decrease the momentum boundary layer. Fluid suction/injection and Prandtl number increase the rate of heat transfer. The order of chemical reaction is quite significant and there is a faster rate of mass transfer when the reaction rate and Schmidt number are increased.

Opis:
This paper presents both analytical and numerical analyses of a fully developed unsteady/steady natural convection flow of a reactive viscous fluid in an open ended vertical annulus. Analytical expressions for velocity, temperature, skin-friction and rate of heat transfer are obtained after simplifying and solving the governing differential equations with reasonable approximations. The interesting result found in this study is that an increase in non-dimensional time (t) , increases both temperature and velocity profiles until a steady-state value is attained. Subsequent results obtained by numerical calculations show excellent agreement with analytical results.

Opis:
A computational model is presented to explore the properties of heat source, chemically reacting radiative, viscous dissipative MHD flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past an upright cone under inhomogeneous mass flux. A numerical study has been carried out to explore the mass flux features with the help of Crank-Nicolson finite difference scheme. This investigation reveals the influence of distinct significant parameters and the obtained outputs for the transient momentum, temperature and concentration distribution near the boundary layer is discussed and portrayed graphically for the active parameters such as the Schmidt number Sc, thermal radiation Rd, viscous dissipation parameter […], chemical reaction parameter […], MHD parameter M and heat generation parameter ]…]. The significant effect of parameters on shear stress, heat and mass transfer rates are also illustrated.

Opis:
A numerical solution of a transient natural convection flow past a semi-infinite inclined plate under the combined buoyancy effects of heat and mass transfer along with chemical reaction is presented herewith. The governing boundary layer equations for the above flow problem for a first order homogeneous chemical reaction are set up and non-dimensionalised. An implicit finite difference method is employed to solve the unsteady, nonlinear, integro and coupled partial differential equation. Numerical results are presented for various parameters occurring in the problem. The unsteady velocity, temperature and concentration profiles, local and average skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are studied for both a generative and destructive reaction.

Opis:
An investigation of the effects of a chemical reaction and thermal radiation on unsteady MHD free convection heat and mass transfer flow of an electrically conducting, viscous, incompressible fluid past a vertical infinite flat plate embedded in a porous medium is carried out. The flow is induced by a general time-dependent movement of the vertical plate, and the cases of ramped temperature and isothermal plates are studied. An exact solution of the governing equations is obtained in closed form by the Laplace Transform technique. Some applications of practical interest for different types of plate motions are discussed. The numerical values of fluid velocity, temperature and species concentration are displayed graphically whereas the numerical values of skin friction, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are presented in a tabular form for various values of pertinent flow parameters for both ramped temperature and isothermal plates.
