Opis:
The vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) is subject to various attacks because of its dynamic nature and ephemeral character. In VANET, vehicles communicate with each other for safety awareness. The positioning of an unknown vehicle is one of the critical factors to determine the vehicle’s trustworthiness. Although some positioning techniques have achieved a high accuracy level in VANET, they suffer from dynamic noise in real-world environments. This drawback leads to inaccuracy and unreliability during vehicle positioning. In this paper, an optimal innovation based adaptive estimation Kalman filter (OIAE-KF) is proposed. This algorithm offers an alternative solution for the basic Kalman filter and the innovation based adaptive estimation Kalman filter (IAE-KF). The proposed algorithm makes use of fusion of the global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and the inertial measurement unit (IMU) to improve its performance. The OIAE-KF works based on the innovation sequence and involves three steps such as establishing the innovation sequence, applying the innovation property, checking the optimality of the Kalman filter and, finally, estimating process noise (Q) and measurement noise (R). An optimal swapping method is introduced for optimality check. The efficiency of the proposed OIAE-KF method is proved by comparing the predictions of the existing methods such as the IAE-KF. The results show that the OIAE-KF performs better than the existing techniques. It improves the accuracy and consistency in VANET positioning.

Opis:
The global (absolute) stability of nonlinear systems with fractional positive and not necessarily asymptotically stable linear parts and feedbacks is addressed. The characteristics u = f(e) of the nonlinear parts satisfy the condition k1e ≤ f(e) ≤ k2e for some positive k1 and k2. It is shown that the fractional nonlinear systems are globally asymptotically stable if the Nyquist plots of the fractional positive linear parts are located on the right-hand side of the circles (−1/k1,−1/k2).

Opis:
The global stability of discrete-time nonlinear systems with descriptor positive linear parts, positive scalar feedbacks and interval state matrices is addressed. Sufficient conditions for the global stability of this class of nonlinear systems are established. The effectiveness of these conditions is illustrated using numerical examples.

Opis:
This paper proves global asymptotic convergence in a multitype epidemic model which encompasses both the S --> I and S --> I --> S epidemics. Systems are considered where the infection matrix may be reducible, and for which the system may be closed or can be open with a stable population size. New global asymptotic convergence results are obtained.

Opis:
First, a fuzzy system based on if-then rules and with parametric consequences is recalled. Then, it is shown that the global and local ε-insensitive learning of the above fuzzy system may be presented as a combination of both an ε-insensitive gradient method and solving a system of linear inequalities. Examples are given of using the introduced method to design fuzzy models of real-life data. Simulation results show an improvement in the generalization ability of a fuzzy system trained by the new method compared with the traditional and other ε-insensitive learning methods.
