Opis:
Agile development is a crucial issue within software engineering because one of the goals of any project leader is to increase the speed and flexibility in the development of new commercial products. In this sense, project managers must find the best resource configuration for each of the work packages necessary for the management of software development processes in order to keep the team motivated and committed to the project and to improve productivity and quality. This paper presents ReSySTER, a hybrid recommender system based on fuzzy logic, rough set theory and semantic technologies, aimed at helping project leaders to manage software development projects. The proposed system provides a powerful tool for project managers supporting the development process in Scrum environments and helping to form the most suitable team for different work packages. The system has been evaluated in a real scenario of development with the Scrum framework obtaining promising results.

Opis:
Recent approaches to fault detection and isolation (FDI) for dynamic systems using methods of integrating quantitative and qualitative model information, based upon artificial intelligence (AI) techniques are surveyed. In this study, the use of AI methods is considered an important extension to the quantitative model-based approach for residual generation in FDI. When quantitative models are not readily available, a correctly trained artificial neural network (ANN) can be used as a non-linear dynamic model of the system. However, the neural network does not easily provide insight into model behaviour; the model is explicit rather than implicit in form. This main difficulty can be overcome using qualitative modelling or rule-based inference methods. For example, fuzzy logic can be used together with state-space models or neural networks to enhance FDI diagnostic reasoning capabilities. The paper discusses the properties of several methods of combining quantitative and qualitative system information and their practical value for fault diagnosis of real process systems.

Opis:
Internet shopping has been one of the most common online activities, carried out by millions of users every day. As the number of available offers grows, the difficulty in getting the best one among all the shops increases as well. In this paper we propose an integer linear programming (ILP) model and two heuristic solutions, the MinMin algorithm and the cellular processing algorithm, to tackle the Internet shopping optimization problem with delivery costs. The obtained results improve those achieved by the state-of-the-art heuristics, and for small real case scenarios ILP delivers exact solutions in a reasonable amount of time.

Opis:
This paper addresses the design of a state estimation and sensor fault detection, isolation and fault estimation observer for descriptor-linear parameter varying (D-LPV) systems. In contrast to where the scheduling functions depend on some measurable time varying state, the proposed method considers the scheduling function depending on an unmeasurable state vector. In order to isolate, detect and estimate sensor faults, an augmented system is constructed by considering faults to be auxiliary state vectors. An unknown input LPV observer is designed to estimate simultaneously system states and faults. Sufficient conditions to guarantee stability and robustness against the uncertainty provided by the unmeasurable scheduling functions and the influence of disturbances are synthesized via a linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation by considering H∞ and Lyapunov approaches. The performances of the proposed method are illustrated through the application to an anaerobic bioreactor model.
