Opis:
Accurate bone motion reconstruction from marker tracking is still an open and challenging issue in biomechanics. Presented in this paper is a novel approach to gait motion reconstruction based on kinematical loops and functional skeleton features extracted from segmented Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data. The method uses an alternative path for concatenating relative motion starting at the feet and closing at the hip joints. From the evaluation of discrepancies between predicted and geometrically identified functional data, such as hip joint centers, a cost function is generated with which the prediction model can be optimized. The method is based on the object-oriented multibody library [...], which has already been successfully applied to the development of industrial virtual design environments. The approach has been implemented in a general gait visualization environment termed Mobile Body.

Opis:
In the present study a novel method is introduced to detect meaningful regions of a gray-level noisy images of binary structures. The method consists in generating surrogate data for an analyzed image. A surrogate image has the same (or almost the same) power spectrum and histogram of gray-level values as the original one but is random otherwise. Then minmax paths are generated in the original image, each characterized by its length, minmax intensity and the intensity of the starting point. If the probability of the existence of a path with the same characteristics but within surrogate images is lower than some user-specified threshold, it is concluded that the path in the original image passes through a meaningful object. The performance of the method is tested on images corrupted by noise with varying intensity.

Opis:
The research on incomplete fuzzy soft sets is an integral part of the research on fuzzy soft sets and has been initiated recently. In this work, we first point out that an existing approach to predicting unknown data in an incomplete fuzzy soft set suffers from some limitations and then we propose an improved method. The hidden information between both objects and parameters revealed in our approach is more comprehensive. Furthermore, based on the similarity measures of fuzzy sets, a new adjustable object-parameter approach is proposed to predict unknown data in incomplete fuzzy soft sets. Data predicting converts an incomplete fuzzy soft set into a complete one, which makes the fuzzy soft set applicable not only to decision making but also to other areas. The compared results elaborated through rate exchange data sets illustrate that both our improved approach and the new adjustable object-parameter one outperform the existing method with respect to forecasting accuracy.

Opis:
This paper has developed a generalised sampling strategy for the rapid location of objects in digital images. In this strategy a priori information on the possible locations of objects is used to guide the sampling process, and earlier body-based and edge-based approaches emerge automatically on applying the right a priori probability maps. In addition, the limitations of the earlier regular sampling technique have been clarified and eased—with the result that sampling patterns are better matched to the positions of the image boundaries. These methods lead to improved speeds of operation both in the cases where all the objects in an image have to be located and also where the positions of individual objects have to be updated. Finally, the method is interesting in being intrinsically able to perform full binary search tree edge location without the need for explicit programming.
