Opis:
The paper is an attempt od presenting different form of cooperation of universities and employers leading to increase of employability graduates, including those with disabilities. The problem of contemporary academic education is to assure suitability of education to employment of graduates, to open the educational process to labor market, and to shape such qualifications and skills that are needed by employers. In the content of the paper the advantages and barriers of cooperation with employers were presented. The main advantages are as follows (among others): increasing the recognition of universities among potential employers and candidates, increasing the quality of education and researches, increasing of chances of employment after graduation, building a net of contacts on business environment, increasing the quality of human capital, promoting images of companies as an attractive partner. Moreover, in the content of the paper the factors of obstacles of employability of people with disabilities were pointed out and characterized. The most important factors are combined with problems od administrative, financial, social, organizational, qualifications, information, infrastructural nature.

The article concerns the links between precarity and disability as the social phenomenons connected with the theoretical problems of exclusion and laws marginality as well as the wider context of the existencial temporariness and uncertainty. There is a clear semantic identity between precarity and disability. The verb to care is the root of the English word precarity and the noun care is present in Polish phrase child of special care which means exactly the same as child with special needs or child with disability. There were given the examples of positive realization of normalization of people with disabilities in the conditions of the neoliberal economy.

The purpose of the study was to find out the relationship between personality factors and tendency to emancipation. The author focuses on the most important problems of personality of persons with visual disabilities. She wonders why do certain factors of personality encourage the process while others slow it down. The process of emancipation is complex and long-lasting but very significant not only from the perspective of people with visual disabilities, but also for all the people in a community that respect diversity.

In South African countries education plays the important role in the context of double exclusion occurance of people with disabilities living in those areas. Factors like race, gender, social origin or disability affect social inequalities which powerful strength in society is strictly connected with a dominant ideology or state policy (eg. apartheid in South Africa). People with disabilities undergoing social exclusion caused by their social origin as African natives, simultaneously undergo exclusion caused by disability. In this context, apart from (the exclusion rooted in) the “heritage” of apartheid, one can also find a very meaningful factor folk beliefs, healers and shamans. Hence, disability, according to the particular area of the country and local folk beliefs, is perceived and understood as punishment or a thrown charm which eventually makes families being ashamed of their disabled children or relatives, force them to hide them for fear of ostracism, violence, ritual mutilation or death.

The process of ageing is an inevitable life phenomenon in both the individual and social aspects. With the growing life expectancy of humans, the way of living in the old age becomes a challenge in the context of respect for the dignity of the elderly. In this article, I present selected theoretical issues concerning the sense of dignity, everyday life and helplessness of elderly people with disabilities, which is unfortunately often associated with it. I also show the complexity of contemporary problems and expectations and the challenges faced by older people with disabilities.

The article presents background information that explains the reason for the establishment of the Warsaw Initiatives for People with Intellectual Disabilities and a conjugated. The issue of strategies of activities aimed at people with disabilities living in the relevant communes is a topic rarely undertaken in discourse of special pedagogy. These issues are found among the other activities that local government entities are contemporary obligated to implement, and span solutions and activities in the area of inclusion for people with disabilities. It is hence important to know and overcome problems and barriers that hinder or block the right functioning of people with disabilities. Some of solutions and activities are contained in the two types of communal strategic documents, these are: Commune Development Strategies and Strategies for solving social problems. The article consists of three parts. The first covers the characteristics of communal strategies and social policy towards people with disabilities. The second part presents the assumptions and results of research based on a qualitative analysis of strategic documents of 27 communes (about 3900 pages of documents) in terms of categories and activities regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities. The whole is summarised in the final conclusions. The aim of the study is preliminary recognition of exemplary activities found in the strategies of communes from the counties of Żywiec and Cieszyn. Text notes the “good practices” and noteworthy solutions for inclusion applied by local government entities with respect to people with disabilities.

The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, adopted by the United Nations on December 13, 2006, signed by the Government of Poland on March 20, 2007, and ratified on September 6, 2012, obliges to respect all the provisions contained in this document, including those concerning access to universal education, the labour market and employment. However, from a practical point of view, there are many barriers and problems experienced by different environments of people with disabilities in the enforcement of their rights. Hence, the article includes the opinions of representatives of the deaf and blind people on current restrictions and discrimination, as well as proposals addressed to the education and work and employment spheres of those participating in the debates organized under the project „Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities – a common cause”, the main contractor of which is the Polish Forum of People with Disabilities.
