Opis:
The analyzed materials confirm widespread penetration of Koran stories, myths, characters and figures, biblical and Koran worldview, recoding of sacred lexis’s into Kazakh folklore and the formation of new religious and mythological syncretism indicate profound changes in the mentality of the Kazakh people, caused by entry into the sphere of Islamic culture (transition to conscious religion) that up to XX century was accompanied by mixing elements of pagan (pre-Islamic) and Muslim worldview. Purpose. The article presents a fragment of complex (linguoculturological and semantic-cognitive) study of the concept Islam in Kazakh linguoculture. As exemplified in the texts of Kazakh oral folk arts, in which the Muslim stories are intertwined with archaic, pre-Islamic views, the thesis about specific character of religious (Muslim) worldview of the Kazakhs is being proven. Methods. In the course of the study the different methods, widely used in the process of linguistic and cultural analysis of the concept, were used, in particular, the elements of contextual analysis, lexicographical and of comparative method. Results. There are a lot of different examples that show us the widespread penetration of Quranic stories, myths, images and figures, biblical-Quranic worldview into the Kazakh folklore. Recoding sacred language and the formation of new religious and mythological syncretism indicate profound changes in the mentality of the Kazakh people, due to the entry into the sphere of the Muslim culture (the transition to a conscious religion) and until the twentieth century, accompanied by mixing elements of pagan (pre-Islamic) and Muslim world views.

Opis:
The system of Kazakh anthroponyms is characterized by both regional and social pecularities. This study is devoted to the anthroponomy of Aktobe city. The proper names have vivid national and cultural semantics as their values are arbitrary from history and culture of people – native speakers. In Kazakh namegiving the loss of magical function occurs, which gives way to social and aesthetic functions. Purpose of the study. Studying the dynamics of the naive worldview in the system of Kazakh anthroponyms on the materials of Aktobe city (Kazakhstan), as well as the conceptual foundations of onomastic representation and its subsequent practical application. Methods of research. The main methods of the work are the method of contrastive-comparative analysis of linguistic units in synchrony and diachrony and the method of statistical data processing. Conclusions. In the Kazakh namegiving a gradual loss of the magical function takes place, which gives way to the social, appellative, epistemic, and aesthetic functions. In modern Kazakh women's names, just as in ancient times, the appellative function of namegiving gives way to an aesthetic function. The arsenal of modern women's names is refilled by sonorous names, borrowed from both the Eastern and Western culture. Despite the activity of the general trend in the Kazakh anthroponymic system for the transition to national forms and variants of naming (execution of surnames and patronymics in accordance with the national traditions), upon registration newborns, the Aktobe residents continue to write their names in the documents more often in Russian, which generally indicates dominance of Russian language in the Kazakh youth environment of Aktobe city.

Confessional Identity
Opis:
The composition of the Kazakh ethnic group in the Republic of Kazakhstan is linguistically heterogeneous: more than 70% of the Kazakhs are bilinguals with the second Russian language. The Russian-speaking Kazakhs are mostly located in Russian bordering regions, as well as most of them is an urban population. Level of Russian speaking Kazakhs is different, which suggests the presence of different types of bilingualism depending on social, historical and geographical aspects. This fact has caused features of modern Kazakh world. However, the factor defining the unity of the ethnic group and its viability, a traditional culture that despite decades of civilizational influences has not lost its identity. That identity permeates the everyday life of modern Kazakhs, appearing in the system of traditional education, and the ritual practices and religious consciousness of Kazakhs. Traditional ethical culture of the Kazakhs is inextricably linked to the Muslim culture. Purpose. The article attempts to describe the concept of Islam as one of the cognitive awareness of modern Kazakh language through its linguistic representation (based on psycholinguistic experiments). Methods. In this study psycholinguistic and Popova-Sternin’s semantic-cognitive research methods were used. The content and structure of the concept of Islam is presented on the basis of free association experiment data. Results. The concept of Islam is relevant to the linguistic consciousness of the majority of respondents-Kazakhs. According to the study Islamic knowledge of modern Kazakhs, first of all, they are gained from traditional culture, casual everyday life and ritual practices of the people. The religious identity of respondents is reflected in the identification and assessment of the concept of Islam zone and finds the dependence on cultural and linguistic preferences: Kazakh language, Kazakh respondents, in contrast to the Russian-speaking, are more familiar with the traditional ethical culture of the people and increasingly identify themselves as Muslims. In the view of most Kazakh respondents Islam is related to humanistic values.

Opis:
The article studies the fate of Kazakhstan versions of the well-known Turkic epic “Edige”. Written recordings of the epic made in the 19th century by Ch. Valikhanov were promulgated by P.M. Melioranskij. Its Kazakh language later versions based on the Kazakh storytellers’ pieces were all forgotten for decades because of the notorious ideological struggle against the “feudal heritage”. And only since the 80's and 90's of the 20th century Kazakhstani researchers have had the opportunity to study the epic thoroughly and introduce it into scientific discourse. Among the works published in the post-Soviet period are the retransliterated variant of the Valikhanov-Melioranskij, record performed by E. Magauin and the works of Kazakh researchers such as R. Berdibay and Zh. Asanov which deserve today special attention. Purpose. The researchers of those countries whose cultural heritage includes the folk Turkic epic legend “Edige” (“Idige”), created in the Middle Ages, found in written versions or recorded based on words of folk narrators, should unite efforts to create the archetypal basis of this masterpiece. Methods. General scientific methods of analysis and generalization of theoretical material, the comparative method and elements of textual analysis have been used in our work. In particular, we have analyzed theoretical works of Kazakh researchers, and also referred to comparative analysis of the “Edige” epic represented in its various Kazakhstani versions. In the process of comparative textual analysis, phrases selected from a fragment of the epic legend have been divided into speech cycles. In the Ch. Valikhanov’s legend version manuscript, the archaic usage of words (word forms and phrases) and their lexical substitutions (synonymous) by the elements of later Kazakh language have been revealed. The semantics of lexical and phraseological means have been refined according to the dictionaries of modern Kazakh language. At the following stage, the grammatical (morphemic, morphological and syntactic) structure of the manuscript and the latest version of the epic piece have been compared. As a result, outdated and oral-spoken grammatical forms and their modern equivalents standardized from the point of view of written-literary language have been identified. Results. The article based on the Kazakh sources describes the history and circumstances of producing the Kazakh medieval epic “Edige” versions, which is the folk spiritual heritage of a number of Turkic nations (Nogai, Kazakh, Tatar, Bashkir, Karakalpak). Comparative analysis of a fragment of the original manuscript by Ch. Valikhanov retransliterated at the end of the 20th century by E. Magauin and the Kazakh transcriptions made by K. Satpayev as well as by other scholars in the early 20th century, have revealed some late changes that violate the archaic structure of the epic. It has been stated that these changes were applied to the text of the epic “Edige” in order to facilitate its perception by the modern Kazakh reader. The prospects for this research can be defined as further systematization of all written epic “Edige” versions stored in libraries and manuscript collections of Kazakhstan, Karakalpakstan, Karachay-Cherkessia, Tatarstan and Bashkortostan; creating a single text of the epic close to the archetypal one. In addition, it is necessary to prepare the publication of the epic “Edige”, supplied with detailed philological, historical and cultural comments, based on the analysis of all written versions, including those that were recorded later based on folk narrators stories.
