Opis:
The paper describes details concerning systems used for analysis and the result of data gathered from two various HoneyPot systems, implemented at Institute of Computer Science. The first system uses data mining techniques for the automatic discovery of interesting patterns in connections directed to the HoneyPot. The second one is responsible for the collection and the initial analysis of attacks dedicated to the Web applications, which nowadays is becoming the most interesting target for cybercriminals. The paper presents results from almost a year of usage, with implemented prototypes, which prove it's practical usefulness. The person performing analysis improves effectiveness by using potentially useful data, which is initially filtered from noise, and automatically generated reports. The usage of data mining techniques allows not only detection of important patterns in rapid manner, but also prevents from overlooking interesting patterns in vast amounts of other irrelevant data.

Opis:
The aim of this work is to study the structure of information and telecommunications technologies (ICT) usage in Polish enterprises in 2015. In this paper the overrepresentation maps were considered as a tool of data mining. These maps are crated as the results of GCA algorithm. The analysis of data about ICT in Polish enterprises were shown as an example of GCA application. The advantage of the method is the visualization possibility and legibility of the obtained maps. In this article we studied the level of usage of ICT in individual voivodeships, the expenditures for various sectors of ICT for small, medium-size and big enterprises.

Application of supporting business-related decision making processes through the use of information systems is becoming one of the fundamental requirements of the market competition. In this paper we present a survey of Business Intelligence (BI) models which can be implemented in Microsoft SQL Server environment. The survey is a response to the rapid development of BI solutions as they enter new areas of company’s activities, adopting new technologies. Business Intelligence systems have become an integral part of every major company. The aim of this analysis is to present the Microsoft SQL Server capabilities, functionalities and services dedicated for the BI purposes. The overview is provided with simple comprehensive analysis of selected environment components indicating their relevance to the particular company requirements. The summary of the significance of using Microsoft SQL Server software is the review of selected services.

Opis:
The paper presents methodologies associated with visualization, which supports data analysis. Analyzed data has been gathered by HoneyPot systems deployed in the network of Institute of Computer Science. Due to the vast amounts of data, the manual analysis was almost impossible and very impractical, also considering time constraints. Introduced visualization techniques and supporting filtering features are implemented in HPMS (HoneyPot Management System). The paper describes in details two introduced methodologies which support data analysis using both charts and graphs. The first one is used for the discovery of basic activities observed by HoneyPot. The second one is used for advanced analysis of machines used during attacks concerning PhpMyAdmin software.

Opis:
Manufacturing companies that produce and assemble multiple products rely on databases containing thousands or even millions of parts. These databases are expensive to support, maintain and the inherent complexity does not allow end users to utilize fully such databases. Designers and engineers are often not able to find previously created parts, which they could potentially reuse, and they add one more part to the database. Engineered improvements without removal of the previous version of the component also cause the avoidable increase of elements in the database. Reuse of parts or planned development of common parts across products brings many benefits for manufacturers. Search algorithm utilized across part databases and varying projects allows identifying similar parts. The goal is to compare part names and attributes resulting in the assignment of a similarity score. Determining common and differentiating part attributes and characteristics between pairs of components allows nominating parts that can become shared in different products. The case study utilizes an industrial example to evaluate and assess the feasibility of the proposed method for identifying commonality opportunities. It turned out that it is possible to find many parts that can be potentially shared between different products.

Performance of an e-learning system depends on an extent to which it is adjusted to student needs. Priorities of the last ones may differ in accordance with the context of use of an e-learning environment. For personalized e-learning system based on student groups, different distribution of the groups should be taken into account. In the paper, using of data mining techniques for building student groups depending on the context of the system use is considered. As the main technique unsupervised classification is examined,. Context parameters depending on courses and student models are tested. Experiment results for real student data are discussed.

Opis:
Supervised classification covers a number of data mining methods based on training data. These methods have been successfully applied to solve multi-criteria complex classification problems in many domains, including economical issues. In this paper we discuss features of some supervised classification methods based on decision trees and apply them to the direct marketing campaigns data of a Portuguese banking institution. We discuss and compare the following classification methods: decision trees, bagging, boosting, and random forests. A classification problem in our approach is defined in a scenario where a bank’s clients make decisions about the activation of their deposits. The obtained results are used for evaluating the effectiveness of the classification rules.

Opis:
Modern organizations commonly use the strategy of a learning organization, and therefore operate with not only material resources, but also information resources. The collected data resources become the basis for generating business and management information. This database is maintained on various platforms using integrated BI (Business Intelligence) systems enabling knowledge to be generated through the data-mining mechanisms embedded in the artificial intelligence models. In this article, the authors focus on AI (Artificial Intelligence) models and systems based on ANN's (Artificial Neural Networks) and fuzzy set theory, which can be useful in solutions dedicated to supporting the complex management of modern organisations, and in particular the support of active functions (forecasting, planning and monitoring activities, as well as risk analysis and system effectiveness).
