Dementias are disorders that arise after formation of the base of cognitive function, i.e. after the fourth to the sixth year of life. The most commom form of dementia is Alzheimer‘s disease. In second place are vascular dementia. Vascular dementia has several clinical forms according to the localization of the brain affected. Depressive disorders are coupled with cognitive impairments most common psychiatric disease the elderly. What is important is the prevention of depression in old age, especially in high-risk groups. It recommends the creation of an appropriate program for seniors with plenty of physical and mental activity and social contacts, timely and proper treatment of somatic illness. Seniors depressive disorders are major psychiatric disorder with a variety of negative consequences. It needs to be thinking, actively seek out and properly treated. Delirium are not part of dementia. However, often occurs as a complicating symptoms of dementia. Addictive disorders in old age are nothing exceptional. The authors focuses on the contribution for health and especially care important for gypsy women in pregnancy. Gypsy women are an ethnic group that live permanently in Slovakia and require a different approach due to their traditional culture and lifestyle. The survival of the gypsy culture often causes an obstacle to their integration into society. Improper conditions in which the gypsy lives and how their lives are signed under unfavorable health status of the gypsy community does not assist the situation. The gypsy community is dominated by distrust of majority society, which is reflected by the issues between the healthcare and the gypsy community. Gypsy personality is characterized its somatic, socio-cultural and psychological specificities. Importantly is focus on family than on work. Life is for gypsy highest value. Therefore, birth rates and fertility is higher among gypsy women. Gypsy family is patriarchal with a strong male authority. The family is three-generation and multi-generational, social considerably dependent on kinship, has strong ancestral ties. Gypsy woman in pregnancy is necessary to determine her attitude towards health and this attitude can either reinforce or change. It is necessary that gypsy women learn to care for themselves during pregnancy and beyond, in order to avoid damaging their health, but most of their unborn child.

Opis:
Authors of the contribution is concerned with feeding the elderly, which is frequently discussed a serious problem. Increasing age is a risk factor for the development of nutritional disorders, and therefore the old connection with the frequent occurrence of these disorders, especially with malnutrition. Nutritional disorders in old age lead to serious health problems, prolonging illness and mortality, not least, degradation the quality of life. By reason to demographic changes in terms of life expectancy increasing and the increasing number of elderly people, this issue is highly topical. In case of illness in old age there is a higher risk of malnutrition. The old and the chronically ill in this respect are vulnerable group. Between nutritional status and disease severity, there is a close relationship. It is true that the mere malnutrition is associated with higher mortality and morbidity. Also, every chronic disease leads to malnutrition and malnutrition every clinically latent disease. The most frequent type of malnutri- tion in the elderly is a protein-energy malnutrition with simple starvation, which leads to weight loss. In practice usually carried combinations more examination methods. The basic methods used in the diagnosis of eating disorders in the elderly include: nutritional history, anthropometric and physical examination, laboratory tests and nutritional standardized questionnaires.

Nursing care is limited not only to fulfil biological needs of a patient, but also to fulfil psychological, social and spiritual needs of the dying patient. It is necessary to get, at least for a while, to a certain resonance with the patient, which can carry their mutual commu- nication. Psychological approach to the patient has to include respect and natural reverence, regardless of his (her) age, status or profession. At each stage of dying patient behaves differently and a nurse has to accept his (her) behavior. The nurse can provide a psychosocial support by a permanent contact of a significant person with the patient.

New researches confirm that nutrition, along with modern therapeutic procedures, is of great im- portance for the optimal treatment of chronic renal insufficiency. Necessary is the reduction in total protein intake based on the level of renal function. Low protein diets can reduce uremic symptoms in non-dialysis patients with chronic renal failure and can slow down the progression of renal insuffi- ciency in patients with chronic renal insufficiency. At present, protein-restricted diets are used in con- junction with a nutritional therapist. Long-term administration of low-protein diet is contraindicated in patients with end-stage chronic renal failure, with uremic complications, with severe signs of urine retention and electrolytes and with poor compliance with low-protein diet. A low-protein diet with ketoanalogs can not only stabilize renal function but also has a beneficial effect on blood pressure, proteinuria, lipid profile and calcium phosphate metabolism. Depending on the size of diuresis, blood pressure, sodium and fluid balance and potassium levels, the maximal intake of fluids, sodium and potassium should be considered.

Opis:
The aim of our contribution is to briefly describe the health risks to people in the Czech Republic. It is necessary to realize that health concerns not only the human being but also the environment, it is the result of mutual relations between the organism, the psychic and the personality of the individual and the surrounding environment. Health is most damaging to smoking, poor nutrition, low physi- cal activity, excessive psychological stress, excessive alcohol consumption, drug abuse, risky sexual behavior. Demography is a doctrine of the population, it deals with dynamic and statistical indica- tors - population, migration, etc. The most important method is demographic statistics. Mortality or mortality is the ratio of the number of deaths to the given disease to the total number of inhabitants in the given administrative unit. For example, breakdowns into groups of men, women, children under 15 or occupations, injuries, etc. Prevention is a set of measures to prevent any undesirable phenomenon such as illness, drug addi- ction, crime, accidents, failure in school, social conflicts, violence, environmental disasters, and so on. Primary prevention is specific and non-specific. Specific is targeted against disease or against the risk of disease. Primary non-specific prevention means activities leading to the strengthening and development of health through health education or a health-conscious lifestyle. Secondary prevention attempts to capture the phenomena in a timely manner and prevent their deepening, spreading and the like. It focuses on particularly vulnerable groups, such as youth, minorities or the socially weak. Tertiary prevention seeks to prevent repetition, such as crimes, illness, drug addiction, and so on. It focuses on people who have just been cured, punished, and the like. Lifestyle is a style that includes forms of voluntary behavior in given life situations that are based on individual choices from different options. The health status of the company is assessed mainly on the basis of morbidity and mortality. The sickness, incidence and prevalence of illnesses in the population is the ratio of the number of ill persons to the number of persons at risk in the population and in the time period. It expresses the incidence and prevalence indicators.

Opis:
The authors point to balanced nutrition in children with heart disease, which is not easy at all in terms of age and nutrition, and with respect to the limitations of heart disease. Heart disease in childhood is a very comprehensive set of diseases, including congenital malformations, arrhythmias, valvular defects, hypertension. Congenital heart defects include situations where the heart attack is present at birth. In the Czech Republic approximately 500 children with heart defect are born annually. The aim of the paper is to make recommendations on how to properly choose the right foods for children with heart disease. It is important to exclude industrially produced salt foods, limiting salt and fat intake. These measures can be approached very individually with respect to the child‘s age, surgery, associated dg., Medication. The whole family should always be involved so that the child does not suffer, it is not our intention to psychically distract the child. It should also take into account age, sex. A mildly reducing diet if overweight or obesity is always a risk! In the case of a very young child, such as breast-fed infants, it is important for these measures to be followed by a nursing mother. Nutrition is most important not only for children with heart disease, because they may need to take care of themselves in order to prevent their condition from becoming fatal at the end, as well as prevention and healthy lifestyle.

There was a perception that communication with patients in operating theaters is very limited, respectively, rare and used much less than the wards, intensive care units and clinics, but it is not so. Communication during surgical interventions, whether among staff or patients is always individual. This depends mainly on whether the interventions under general, spinal or local anesthesia . This is a rather important fact, because it is derived from a method of communication between members of the operating team and the operations team and the patient. Communication is an important aspect of nursing activities. That is reason why the autors of the report focus on the specificis of nursing care in the operating room. Work in this field pats high demands on the nurse as the site of a professional, as well, as psychologicae, physical and emotionae. Inclusion of nurses in this work provides the same personal characteristics and skills.

Clinical nutrition has a very significant role in surgery. There is a two-way relationship between the patient‘s performance and the nutritional status of the patient, and they are in interaction. Dietary intake can be affected not only immediately but, more importantly, over the long period of time. In this article is described the issue of GIT interventions that require specific approaches to nutritional intervention. In relation to surgery, we distinguish the preoperative, perioperative and postoperative periods, and it is necessary to distinguish the period immediately after surgery and the convalescence period, which is often associated with realimentation. In those stages, nutritional intervention has specific objectives with respect to the patient‘s health and nutritional status. In recent years is used the so-called „immunonutrition“, which is the use of specific nutritional components for therapeutic purposes. However, the main objective remains to prevent or optimally resolve eventual malnutrition.

Opis:
The article provides basic information on nutritional principles in patients with epilepsy. Epilepsy is the oldest known neurological disease. There are approximately 50 million individuals worldwide with epilepsy, more than 70,000 patients in the Czech Republic. This is a chronic neurological disease characterized by repeated seizures of various clinical images and abnormal brain cerebral neurons. Epilepsy is divided into symptomatic and idiopathic. The main goal of treatment is to significantly improve the patient‘s quality of life. This is best achieved by removing seizures or at least limiting their frequency and intensity where elimination of seizures is not possible. The core of the paper points to regime measures and the importance of the regulation of living is important. Observance of regular sleep and wakefulness, single-phase sleep with regular downtime and getting up. A varied diet is the basis of nutrition. Patient nutrition interferes practically with all the functions of the organism and basically affects health. The patient should eat a variety of foods in a reasonable amount. Patients should also try to reduce salt consumption. You should also watch the salt hidden in the food. Try to reduce the consumption of sugar. It is also important to drink fluids. At least 2 liters a day is recommended. Water plays an important role in maintaining the stability of the internal environment in the body. It is advisable to drink various kinds of drinks, suitable for natural water, fruit teas, unsweetened juices. All types of alcoholic beverages are forbidden for patients with epilepsy. Alcohol reduces the effects of antiepileptic drugs. Opportunities for pharmacists and epizootics are known as ketogenic diets that have been successfully applied in the world for a long time. Depending on the degree of ketosis and the effect on spasticity, the nutrient relation is shifted in favor of proteins and carbohydrates. It is a special diet choice that contains a high fat content with an adequate amount of protein but a very limited amount of carbohydrates. Although overall prognosis is generally favorable for standard epilepsy (most patients experience complete seizures over time), roughly one-third of patients fail to achieve a non-invasive condition even with the right treatment. Adherence to proper nutrition in patients with epilepsy and adherence to a healthy lifestyle is one of the treatment priorities.

Opis:
In our paper, we approach legal responsibilities in nursing practice. Right now almost any human activity is regulated and the area of human health care is no exception. Thanks to the development of medicine and nursing, care for the sick is becoming increasingly sophisticated, but also more risky. The intention is to provide a brief overview of the issue of legal responsibility of the nurse, both from the point of view of law, ethics, and especially from the perspective of sister practice. Because the nurse is the one who is closest to the pacifier (client) of the sparse medical presontal. Our goal is to clarify some legal concepts and to describe some areas of nursing care provided by legislative standards. And not only from the law of healthcare, but also from other branches of law related to this profession. Because this issue is very extensive, we would like to focus primarily on the actions and legislative norms that relate to the work of the general nurse at the bed and in the outpa- tient clinic. We will also point out the activities that the nurse performs daily. They define the law as „a set of generally binding rules of conduct and conduct of the members of society.“ Laws are the result of consciousness and will; in relation to legal standards it can be described as legal action. According to the Civil Code, a legal action means a behavior that is capable of producing legal consequences. The unlawful conduct is inconsistent with the law, we call it unlawful. The result is an illegal state and the legal order imposes an obligation to correct or eliminate the situation. In practice, nursing is perceived as nursing care, which takes place at a certain time. It is targeted at a person in a state of health and the environment. Nursing care is fairly clearly defined by Act No. 372/2011 as a set of activities and measures taken to determine the level of health, prevention and treatment of diseases and disorders, to improve and maintain health, and to alleviate suffering, including reproductive and parturition, by healthcare professionals. Confidentiality is one of the basic rules of medical ethics. The conclusion of the article is devoted to the legal responsibility of healthcare workers and the fact that the responsibility of healthcare workers is generally considered to be large, has its roots in perceiving health as one of the highest values of a person.

One of the most common causes of disability of Slovak people is mental illness. According to psychologists, this trend lasts for several years and the situation is not improving. The cause is mainly lifestyle. In the entire World are suffering from depression over 110 million men and women. It is the most common psychological disorder. Numbers of depressed patients increase by 3% every year. Depression affects many people of working age, regardless of their social and economic status. Up to 15% of people suffering from depression attempt suicide and only 25% seek out profes- sional psychiatric help. This disease belongs to the man as well as an ap- pendix. Depression is not just an ordinary grief that gnaws at the soul of man. In the care of the mentally ill has the nurse in communicating a very im- portant place. Skills of nurses should be at a level such that she under- stands the patient, supports him, could effectively intervene at any time and, if necessary, be close to patient. It is primarily she who spends most of his time with the patient.

Morality can be characterized as social phenomenon that reflects human relationships and human activities in terms of good and evil. The moral problem is wherever a person in a daily struggle for existence is responsible for their actions. Therefore, one necessarily expects total remuneration for their morally good, free volitiona, decision, reward, whose impact extends beyond its currently. What are the key values and principles in nursing? Choosing values that are generally and most experts considered crucial, is quite complex and depends of multiple factors. We are talking about autonomy, utility, fairness, trustworthiness, truthfulness, and harmlessness. The aim of the European Charter of Patients' Rights to ensure a high level of human health. Authors pay attention in this allowance to shame, because the hospital is not the time to respect the sick.
