    Opis:
    The aim of this paper is to present and assess Britain’s attitude towards Libya’s state terrorism in the 1980s. It presents the circumstances of involvement of Libyan authorities in the acts of terror, as well as the reasons for directing such activity against the United Kingdom. The paper discusses the response of the British authorities to the Libyan-backed terrorist activity and the results of investigations into attacks perpetrated by Libyans against British citizens. The main thesis of the paper is the statement that the politics of Great Britain in reaction for support offered by Muammar Gaddafi’s regime to the international terrorist network was formulated in line with the main directions of US policy towards Libya.

    The American model of democracy is identified with liberal democracy, which in the West is usually considered a democracy of the highest quality standards. The illiberal authorities in Poland criticize this model of democracy, introducing a number of legal changes which, in their opinion, are to lead to an improvement in the quality of democracy. American researchers quite unequivocally criticize the changes, especially those taking place in the area of independence of the judiciary, freedom of the media and women’s rights. They also criticize the attitude of the Polish authorities towards minorities, including LGBTQ+ communities. Criticism also appeared from the American authorities, although in this case we were dealing with a large variation in the approach of individual administrations. The aim of the article is to analyze and evaluate the American perspective on the quality of democracy in Poland. During the research, scientists and experts from research institutions in Washington, D.C. and New York were interviewed.

    The subject of my interest is to analyze the most important conditions and dependencies regarding the attitude of the Russian Federation towards Brexit in the political, economic and military dimension. The main purpose of these considerations is an attempt to answer the question of whether Britain’s exit from the European Union may become a chance for Russia to achieve its political, economic and military goals or a threat to its international interests. At the outset, I intend to describe the political dimension of Brexit for Russia, which is related to the attempts of the Kremlin’s government and journalists to find out why the British have made the decision in the referendum. I would also like to present a hypothesis that because of the vote in the UK, Moscow has once again become a major player in the international arena after the annexation of Crimea and the war in eastern Ukraine, as evidenced by the US–Russian cooperation in resolving the Syrian conflict. In the further part of the text, I address the problem of Russia’s economic situation and the possible implications of Brexit on the functioning of the Russian economy. In addition, I am introducing the military dimension of Brexit for Russia, which is related to the findings of the NATO summit in in July 2016, regarding the strengthening of the Alliance’s forces on the so-called Eastern flank. In summary, I will try to outline whether Brexit may be a long-term opportunity or a threat to Russia, considering its current political, economic and military interests.

    The aim of the research is to investigate the track and field exchanges between the United States and the Soviet Union in the Cold War era, in search of their role in shaping bilateral relations between the two states. Particular attention has been paid to the motivation of respective subjects. The research allowed to test the hypothesis stating that the track and field exchanges were an attempt to bring the two countries closer and to achieve propaganda benefits simultaneously.

    The article contains a review of the history of legal and institutional conditions concerning corporate crime in the United States, with particular emphasis on the development of criminal liability of enterprises. It presents theoretical considerations about this phenomenon, the most important legal regulations relating to corporate malpractice, prosecutors’ guidelines and models of cooperation between corporations and the judiciary. The paper also covers the issues of empirical research on corporate crime and the presentation of available data.
    Artykuł zawiera przeglądową historię uwarunkowań prawno-instytucjonalnych dotyczących przestępczości korporacyjnej w Stanach Zjednoczonych, ze szczególnym wskazaniem na rozwój odpowiedzialności karnej przedsiębiorstw. Przedstawione są w nim teoretyczne rozważania na temat tego zjawiska, najważniejsze regulacje prawne odnoszące się do niewłaściwych praktyk korporacyjnych, wytyczne prokuratorów dotyczące postępowania względem oskarżonej organizacji i modele współpracy korporacji z wymiarem sprawiedliwości. W pracy ujęta jest również problematyka empirycznych badań przestępczości korporacyjnej wraz z prezentacją dostępnych danych.

    The aim of this paper is to examine to what extent the leading US think tanks influenced the US policy towards the Russian Federation after annexation of Crimea in March 2014. Comparative analysis was performed on three entities – the Brookings Institution, the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Atlantic Council. Their respective activity has been placed against the model of think tank impact, which is composed of the following elements: framing of key ideas and issues – providing policy alternatives – shaping of decision-making process. The author has positioned the results of his analysis within a larger discussion on changes in the global order and the system of liberal democracy itself.
    Celem artykułu jest zbadanie, w jakim stopniu czołowe amerykańskie think tanki wpływały na politykę Stanów Zjednoczonych wobec Federacji Rosyjskiej po aneksji Krymu w marcu 2014 roku. Analizie porównawczej zostały poddane Brookings Institution, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace oraz Atlantic Council. Ich działalność zestawiono z modelem wpływu think tanków przedstawiającym się wedle następującego schematu: określenie idei i zagadnień, dostarczanie politycznych alternatyw, kształtowanie procesu decyzyjnego. Autor osadził wyniki swojej analizy w szerszej dyskusji dotyczącej zmian zachodzących w porządku światowym oraz samym systemie demokracji liberalnej.

    Celem tego artykułu jest przedstawienie tematów poruszanych w odniesieniu do relacji polsko-amerykańskich podczas debaty parlamentarnej odbywającej się po exposé ministrów spraw zagranicznych oraz porównanie jej do treści zawartych w programach wyborczych polskich partii politycznych. Podstawową metodą badawczą użytą na potrzeby tego artykułu jest analiza zawartości oraz ramowanie (framing analysis). Objęto nimi exposé ministrów spraw zagranicznych oraz programy polskich partii politycznych w odniesieniu do relacji polsko-amerykańskich. Ma ona na celu porównanie i skonfrontowanie treści i tematów poruszanych w programach partii z treścią i tematami poruszanymi przez ministra spraw zagranicznych w corocznej informacji rządu.
    The purpose of this article is to present the topics raised in relation to Polish-American relations during the parliamentary debate after the exposés of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and to compare it with the content of the election programs of Polish political parties. The basic research method used for the purposes of this article is content analysis and framing analysis. These included the exposés of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and programs of Polish political parties in relation to Polish-American relations. It aims to compare and confront the content and topics raised in the parties’ programs with the content and topics raised by the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government’s information.

    The influence of the US on the forms and course of the integration processes in Western Europe was very strong, especially in the first post-war years. It was the influence of an external force which, being free of the internal contradictions stemming from Western Europe’s interests, had at its disposal real capabilities to impose integration concepts beneficial to itself. Such integration was in line with both the economic and military interests of the United States during this period. The main reasons prompting Western European countries in the first post-war years to accept the solutions suggested by the United States were: the said countries’ difficult economic situation, fear of the communist parties’ coming to power, and the reluctant (hostile) attitude towards the USSR and the communist bloc. The combination of these causes served to temporarily neutralize the centrifugal tendencies and muted the divergence of interests between the individual countries of Western Europe. Such motives of integration also influenced the character of the emerging Western European political, military and economic organizations. The economic development of Western European countries, whose sources, in addition to the Marshall Plan, should be seen also in other factors, later led to a shift of integration initiatives from the American side to the European one. From a formal point of view, the effects of US policy in the period up to 1950 entailed: the establishment of NATO, the creation of the OEEC and the signing of the agreement on the EUP.
