    Opis:
    The purpose of this study was to identify long-term trends in conventional participation in the Federal Republic of Germany. The time frame for the analysis covered the period between 1946 and 2016. Conventional participation was measured against two variables using regression analysis: the level of participation in elections and the level of membership in political parties. For both variables, statistically significant development trends were identified, which were mainly of a declining nature. The data employed concerned voter turnout in elections to the Bundestag and Landtags, and the development process of membership levels in six major political parties: CDU, SPD, CSU, FDP, Alliance 90/The Greens, and the Left/PDS.

    Opis:
    The development of information technology and the development of a network society have encouraged a rise of e-democracy. It can not be regarded as a form of democracy because it is a phenomenon qualitatively different from democracy, similarly the network society is not the virtual equivalent of a civil society. It has been hypothesized that the development of information technology perhaps improves the state of democracy in some aspects and to some scale, but only if the system is real and not just declaratively democratic in the initial situation, regardless of technological progress. One of the elements that constitute democracy, including political participation, is a civic consciousness. On the web, the cyber-society constituting the anti model of civil society (Castells) implements the needs dictated by consumerism and consciousness of the consumer but not the ethos of civic and citizen awareness. Therefore, the rating of e-democracy dynamics in individual countries should not be the basis for conclusions about the condition of the existing democracy there.

    Uczestnictwo polityczne młodych ludzi jest istotną kwestią związaną z rozważaniami nad kierunkiem rozwoju współczesnego społeczeństwa, a co za tym idzie – również jakością demokracji. Kształtowanie się kultury politycznej i społeczeństwa obywatelskiego jest uzależnione od aktywności politycznej i społecznej młodszych generacji, które coraz częściej do partycypacji politycznej używają nowych technologii komunikacyjnych i informacyjnych. Celem badań empirycznych było wskazanie poziomu aktywności politycznej w Internecie w grupie młodych dorosłych zamieszkujących województwo kujawsko-pomorskie. Hipotezą badawczą było założenie, że młodzi dorośli cechują się niskim poziomem aktywności politycznej w Internecie. Autorka przeprowadziła badania sondażowe na grupie 608 osób w wieku od 18. do 34. roku życia zamieszkujących województwo kujawsko-pomorskie. Analiza wyników badań potwierdziła, że młodzi dorośli cechują się niskim poziomem aktywności politycznej w Internecie.
    Political participation of young people is an important issue related to the consideration of the direction of development of modern society as well as the quality of democracy. The formation of political culture and civil society depends on the political and social activity of representatives of younger generations, who more and more often use new communication and information technologies for political participation. The purpose of the empirical research was to indicate the level of political activity on the Internet in a group of young adults living in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship. The research hypothesis was that young adults are characterized by a low level of political activity on the Internet. The author conducted survey research on a group of 608 people aged 18 to 34 years old living in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region. Analysis of the survey results confirmed that young adults are characterized by low levels of political activity on the Internet.
