Oldest Halite (Na1)
Opis:
The Oldest Halite (Na1) (Zechstein, Upper Permian) played a significant role in the development of geological structure of the Fore-Sudetic Monocline (SW Poland) because of its different rheological properties in comparison to the adjacent rocks. Intercalations of anhydrite and anhydrite-halite occurring within the Na1 show a lot of features of tectonically disturbed rocks. Macroscopic petrological observations revealed that anhydrite rocks represent four rock types with different structural and textural properties. On the microscopic scale, five types of crystals have been distinguished in all macroscopic types. They vary in size, shape and distribution of primary fluid inclusion assemblages. The anhydrite-halite rocks show two groups with slightly different petrological features that are apparently related to their tectonic deformation and recrystallisation processes. The main recorded directions of tectonic movements seem to be horizontal or sub-horizontal.

Opis:
Analysis of the porosity-depth, permeability-depth, and permeability-porosity relationships, as well as the parameter of reservoir potential RQ (result of relationship porosity v. permeability) of in the Upper Rotliegend sandstones of fluvial and aeolian origin and also of shallow marine (Weissliegend) sandstones from the Zielona Góra Basin in western Poland discussed in relation to the sedimentary settings, coupled with microscopic observations, have indicated that the most important factor determining the reservoir properties is cementation and/or matrix content in the pore space. The map of the mean distribution of the reservoir potential RQ for the topmost 50 metres of the Rotliegend have indicated a patchy distribution of zones with the highest and lowest reservoir potential in the central part of the basin, which is controlled mainly by the amount of carbonate, sulphate and illite cements in the pore space. Compaction had a minor influence on the presently noted reservoir properties, particularly in poorly-cemented sandstones.

Opis:
Cupropearceite is a sulphosalt belonging to the pearceite-polybasite group, formed due to Cu-for-Ag substitution. It is a rare mineral of the Earth’s crust, described only in four locations so far. This work reports the occurrence of cupropearceite in the upper part of the Weissliegend sandstone from the Cu-Ag deposit in the Fore-Sudetic Monocline. The mineral is associated with stromeyerite, bornite, chalcocite, native silver, silver amalgams and, rarely, pyrite. Formation of cupropearceite is related to fluid activity during low-temperature hydrothermal events responsible for the formation of the Cu-Ag ore mineralization. The identification of cupropearceite is important in terms of constraining minerals bearing associated metals, particularly Ag and As. This work also presents occurrence of this rare mineral in the previously unnoted mineral assemblage mentioned above. The presence of cupropearceite confirms a low-temperature, hydrothermal origin of the Cu-Ag deposit in the Fore-Sudetic Monocline.
