    Opis:
    The article presents a synthetic analysis of the socio-economic development – with account taken of the environmental aspect – of Maków county municipalities, Mazowieckie voivodeship, Poland, in 2010 and 2018. There were 20 diagnostic features explored in the research, representing various fields from the areas of Economy, Society and Environment. The study was performed with the help of a multivariate comparative analysis, including a non-model standardization method using zero unitarization. The results of the research indicate that from 2010 to 2018 there was an increase in the overall level of social-economic development, with a simultaneous reduction of the pressure on the environment in most of the municipalities studied. However, the numerous different aspects of this phenomenon presented a varied nature.

    Opis:
    One important factor behind the economic growth of regions includes human resources, in particular, labor resources. The theory of economic base deals with the problems related to the structure and allocation of labor resources, specialization and local surpluses of employees and their importance to the economic development of territorial units. The indirect research methods developed as part of the theory of the economic base were applied in this article to perform a synthetic assessment of the structure and allocation of labor resources and its relations to the economic growth of the Małopolskie Voivodeship gminas.

    The local authorities discern more and more often that in rural communes the spatial planning has bigger meaning. In the area of the administrative district local plans are the most important tool of the spatial planning and constitute the local laws. They are supervising the behaviour of the space users. Local plans also constitute the tool supporting social-economic development of areas, for which they were made out. These instruments should become more and more universal because it is possible to use them in procedures of recruiting union allowances. The article is presenting how administrative districts of the Łódź voivodeship are using local plans and what is a prospect of using this instrument in the areas of rural communes of the Łódź voivodeship.

    Rural tourism provides opportunities for development of regions with attractive tourist attractions, landscape and rich cultural heritage. It is gaining more and more supporters in Poland and Europe. This form of recreation is a benefit for both the tourist and the individual villages or regions. The study presents results of surveys conducted in 2010 among the owners of tourist farms in the Gryfice district. District Gryfice thanks to its natural, scenic and historical monuments richly is one of the most interesting places in the western province. The article characterizes the tourist farms and provides feedback to their owners on the activities of local government related to the development of rural tourism in the Gryfice district.

    The aim of the paper is to compare the Lubelskie voivodship rural local governments in terms of their socio-economic development level by the use of taxonomic methods. Synthetic indexes for all rural gminas of Lubelskie voivodship were formed, on the base of statistical data collected by the Regional Data Bank, in four different areas: technical infrastructure, life quality of the local society, demographic, economic potential and work conditions. The indexes allowed to compare the developed potential selected communities.

    Opis:
    Changes which were introduced in Poland at the turn of the 80s and 90 have given rise to large-scale of unemployment. Unemployment, although it was visible mainly in the cities, has spread to rural areas. To maintain an average level of life, many farm owners were looking for additional sources of income – non-agricultural income. In order to ensure an adequate level of income of the population in rural areas and to preserve the natural landscape, agricultural production is increasingly being complemented by other activities, such as agrotourist services, manufacturing, health food, agricultural and non-agricultural services, crafts. Non-agricultural economic activities in rural areas is growing in a very different way. Currently non-agricultural entities show the highest density of western regions (West Pomerania, Pomerania, Silesia and Lubuskie Voivodeship). The largest concentration of non-agricultural entities in the suburban areas of large cities and in areas, which are attractive to tourists.

    The aim of the article is to determinate the level of socio-economic development and level of tourism development in seaside communities in Poland. There are four parts of the article, where author shows the way of data collection and methods used to present both of phenomens which were studied as well as shows it’s interdependence.     With the transformation of the polish Civil Service in the 80/90. the local government obtained new regulations and possibilities in the social-economy development. Such of them is building different types of regional partnerships e.g. inter-district unions. The article discusses the essence and significance of inter-district cooperation in the development of balanced tourism in rural areas. Sustainable tourism can be important impact factor of agricultural areas development. The origin and characteristics of partnerships of subjects active in the region were presented, which gave rise to the discussion of the example of the ”Wielkopolska Gościnna” Tourism Inter-district Union (Międzygminny Związek Turystyczny „Wielkopolska Gościnna“). This made it possible to answer the question whether and, if yes, to what extent special unions may contribute to the development of balanced tourism in the rural areas.

    Opis:
    Natural conditions for rural production in Zachodniopomorskie Province show a wide diversity. Every community was then described by means of variables concerning the quality of soil, water conditions, agroclimate and relief. These data were subject to standardization. Afterwards, by the usage of k-means algorithm, the Province was divided into 10 areas with similar agricultural usability. The purpose of this article is to reduce the number of objects to several basic classes that can be a subject of further analysis. The comparison of production capacity of areas instead of communities would decrease work input and the length of analysis.
