    The text is an attempt to introduce and initiate a research project which focuses on experiencing the culture of daily living by international exchange students. The authors present major theoretical reflections on the issues of experience and culture of everyday life; they also characterize the community of student– participants of international exchange programs. (Re)cognition and understanding of experience is a methodological challenge, especially in regard to dialogue-oriented intercultural education. The authors decided to explore the issue, using arts-based research. In this model, the role of researchers-facilitators is to introduce the respondents into the research process by inviting them to participate in joint activities focusing on cognitive, artistic, social, and educational objectives. Such participation and cooperation are supposed to result in generating critical knowledge necessary to improve the respondents’ daily life. In the last part of the text, the authors conduct an initial analysis of the selected international exchange programs. The goal of the characteristics of ERASMUS, ISEP, AIESEC, CEEPUS programs is to outline the official objectives and priorities assigned to formal education. In this perspective, when planning their original research, the authors asked the following question: How are these priorities present, as complementary to non-formal education, in experiencing the culture of everyday life by exchange students?

    Opis:
    Nowadays, social networking sites are omnipresent in the life of the young generation. The data collected from Eurostat indicate that in the age group 16-24, the percentage of the users of the said sites exceeds 90%. Hence, it is natural to use them in didactics – in particular in the higher education institutions. The author in this paper demonstrates the results of the research conducted among the students and concerning their activities in the social networking sites, the reasons for their presence there, the objectives of their use of these media and the timespan spent on their use. The results of the research indicate that the students vary as to their approach to social networking sites due to– among others– the faculty they study at. The paper is concluded with the didactic reflections on the choice of the appropriate social networking site for didactic reasons or else the reflections concern the generation gaps pertaining to the use of the Internet.
    Współcześnie serwisy społecznościowe są obecne w życiu młodego pokolenia. Dane z Eurostatu wskazują na to, że w grupie wiekowej 16-24 lata odsetek użytkowników przekracza 90%. Stąd naturalnym jest ich użycie w dydaktyce, w szczególności szkoły wyższej. Autorka w artykule przedstawia wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród studentów dotyczące ich obecności w poszczególnych serwisach społecznościowych, powodów tej bytności, celów korzystania z tych mediów oraz wymiaru czasu spędzanego na ich wykorzystywanie. Wyniki badań wskazują na to, że studenci są zróżnicowani w swoim stosunku do serwisów społecznościowych ze względu m.in. na kierunek studiów. Artykuł wieńczą refleksje dydaktyczne dotyczące wyboru właściwego portalu społecznościowego do celów dydaktycznych czy też różnic międzypokoleniowych na gruncie wykorzystywania Internetu.
