- The article discusses an information technology for Ukrainian Sign Language translation based on ontologies. The components of the technology that are based on grammatically augmented ontology are described. New methods and tools for Ukrainian Sign Language translation were developed. These tools can be used for the development of a machine translation system from spoken to sign language and vice versa to facilitate communication between deaf people and those who do not speak sign language. The experiments for Ukrainian Sign Language translation were conducted. The increase of the percentage of correctly parsed sentences shows the feasibility of using the information technology for Ukrainian Sign Language translation.
