We establish a unique factorization result into irreducibel elements in the partial semigroup of 2 × 2-matrices with entries in K[x] whose determinant is equal to 1, where K is a field, and where multiplication is defined as the usual matrix-multiplication if the degrees of the factors add up. This investigation is motivated by a result on matrices of entire functions.

In the present paper, it is introduced the definition of a reverse derivation on a Γ-ring M. It is shown that a mapping derivation on a semiprime Γ-ring M is central if and only if it is reverse derivation. Also it is shown that M is commutative if for all a,b ∈ I (I is an ideal of M) satisfying d(a) ∈ Z(M), and d(a ∘ b) = 0.

1. $(F(x∘y))^m = (x∘y)ⁿ$ for all x,y ∈ I, where I is a nonzero ideal of R;
2. (F(x∘y))ⁿ=(x∘y)ⁿ for all x,y ∈ I, where I is a nonzero right ideal of R.
Moreover, we also investigate the situation in semiprime rings and Banach algebras.

Let I and J be two ideals of a commutative Noetherian ring R and M be an R-module. For a non-negative integer n it is shown that, if the sets $Ass_{R}(Ext^{n}_{R}(R/I,M))$ and $Supp_{R}(Ext^{i}_{R}(R/I,H^{j}_{I,J}(M)))$ are finite for all i ≤ n+1 and all j < n, then so is $Ass_{R}(Hom_{R}(R/I,H^{n}_{I,J}(M)))$. We also study the finiteness of $Ass_{R}(Ext^{i}_{R}(R/I,H^{n}_{I,J}(M)))$ for i = 1,2.

Fuzzy ideals of pseudo MV-algebras are investigated. The homomorphic properties of fuzzy prime ideals are given. A one-to-one correspondence between the set of maximal ideals and the set of fuzzy maximal ideals μ satisfying μ(0) = 1 and μ(1) = 0 is obtained.

Opis:
Dually residuated lattice-ordered monoids (DRl-monoids) generalize lattice-ordered groups and include also some algebras related to fuzzy logic (e.g. GMV-algebras and pseudo BL-algebras). In the paper, we give some necessary and sufficient conditions for a DRl-monoid to be representable (i.e. a subdirect product of totally ordered DRl-monoids) and we prove that the class of representable DRl-monoids is a variety.

Double Boolean algebras are algebras (D,⊓,⊔,⊲,⊳,⊥,⊤) of type (2,2,1,1,0,0). They have been introduced to capture the equational theory of the algebra of protoconcepts. A filter (resp. an ideal) of a double Boolean algebra D is an upper set F (resp. down set I) closed under ⊓ (resp. ⊔). A filter F is called primary if F ≠ ∅ and for all x ∈ D we have x ∈ F or $x^{⊲} ∈ F$. In this note we prove that if F is a filter and I an ideal such that F ∩ I = ∅ then there is a primary filter G containing F such that G ∩ I = ∅ (i.e. the Prime Ideal Theorem for double Boolean algebras).

The notion of a weakly associative lattice group is a generalization of that of a lattice ordered group in which the identities of associativity of the lattice operations join and meet are replaced by the identities of weak associativity. In the paper, the spectral topologies on the sets of straightening ideals (and on some of their subsets) of abelian weakly associative lattice groups are introduced and studied.

In this paper we explore the connections between fuzzy congruence relations, fuzzy ideals and homomorphisms of hyperlattices. Indeed, we introduce the concept of fuzzy quotient set of hyperlattices as it was done in the case of rings [19]. We prove that a fuzzy congruence induces a fuzzy ideal of the fuzzy quotient hyperlattice. In particular, we establish necessary and sufficient conditions for a zero-fuzzy congruence class to be a fuzzy ideal of a hyperlattice.

Let R be a prime ring with its Utumi ring of quotients U, C = Z(U) be the extended centroid of R, H and G two generalized derivations of R, L a noncentral Lie ideal of R, I a nonzero ideal of R. The left annihilator of S ⊆ R is denoted by lR(S) and defined by lR(S) = {x ∈ R| xS = 0}. Suppose that S = {H(un)un +unG(un) | u ∈ L} and T = {H(xn)xn +xnG(xn) | x ∈ I}, where n ≥ 1 is a fixed integer. In the paper, we investigate the cases when the sets lR(S) and lR(T) are nonzero.

A semiring S in ⁺ is a t-k-Archimedean semiring if for all a,b ∈ S, b ∈ √(Sa) ∩ √(aS). Here we introduce the t-k-Archimedean semirings and characterize the semirings which are distributive lattice (chain) of t-k-Archimedean semirings. A semiring S is a distributive lattice of t-k-Archimedean semirings if and only if √B is a k-ideal, and S is a chain of t-k-Archimedean semirings if and only if √B is a completely prime k-ideal, for every k-bi-ideal B of S.
